 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2020 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 1ST REVIEW

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) NORMALLY WE REVIEW EXISTING BUILDINGS UNDER THE 2020
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE. WHAT IS MISSING IS THE SAME
 ELEMENT, WHICH IS IN COMMON TO ALL 3 PERMITS, COMMON
 AREA CORRIDORS IN A HIGHRISE BUILDING THAT DO NOT SHOW
 A ELEVATOR LOBBY AND OR ONE OF THE EXCEPTIONS TO THE
 CODE.
  
 THE 2020 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL TWO ALTERATIONS
 ADDRESSES THE ISSUE WITH SECTION 803.2.2 WHEN WORK ON
 ANY FLOOR PLATE EXCEEDS 50 % OF THE FLOOR AREA. THIS IS
 ONE OF THE FEW TIMES THE CODE ADDRESSES WORK BEYOND THE
 TENANT SPACE. PLEASE ALSO REVIEW IN THE 2020 EXISTING
 BUILDING CODE SECTION 701.2 CONFORMANCE. AN EXISTING
 BUILDING OR PORTION THEREOF SHALL NOT BE ALTERED SUCH
 THAT THE BUILDING BECOMES LESS SAFE OR ENERGY EFFICIENT
 THAN ITS EXISTING CONDITION.
  
 THE 1982 & 1985 STANDARD BUILDING CODES (YEAR BUILT
 1987), CO-ED., BUILT UNDER THE 1982 CODE PROBABLY OR
 1985. BOTH CODES THE 1982 & 1985 STATE IN SECTION IN
 SECTION 506.6.2 ALL ROOMS AND ENCLOSURES SHALL HAVE AT
 LEAST ONE REQUIRED EXIT ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT TRAVEL
 THROUGH THE ELEVATOR LOBBY. EXIT STAIRWAYS, CHUTES,
 JANITOR CLOSETS, GUEST ROOMS, SERVICE ROOMS, ETC.,
 SHALL NOT OPEN INTO THE ELEVATOR LOBBY.
  
 THE 2020 FBC-BUILDING CODE ELEVATOR LOBBIES AND
 HOISTWAY PROTECTION IS FOUND IN SECTION 3006. SECTION
 3006.3 GIVE 4 WAYS OF HOISTWAY PROTECTION. IF THE 4TH
 ALTERNATIVE ELEVATOR HOISTWAY SHALL BE PRESSURIZED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 909.22. SEE 2020 FBC-BUILDING
 CODE SECTION3006.4. ELEVATOR LOBBIES SHALL BE PROVIDED
 WITH AT LEAST ONE MEANS OF EGRESS COMPLYING WITH
 CHAPTER 10AND OTHER PROVISIONS IN THIS CODE. EGRESS
 THROUGH AN ELEVATOR LOBBY SHALL BE PERMITTED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH ITEM 1 OF SECTION 1016.2.
 2) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER / NARRATIVE LISTING THE
 ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF
 THE REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR
 SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL
 HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR
 ANTICIPATED COOPERATION.
