 THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN A SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA.
 ON THE DATE (1/21/2014) THE PERMIT WAS APPLIED FOR, THE
 FLOOD MAP THAT WAS IN EFFECT HAD THIS PROPERTY AS AN A5
 FLOOD ZONE WITH A BFE OF 7' NGVD 1929. THE CITY OF WEST
 PALM BEACH HAD A 6" FREEBOARD REQUIREMENTS AT THAT
 TIME. THEREFORE, THE LOWEST FLOOR ELEVATION FOR THE
 BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT SERVICING THE BUILDING WAS 7.5'
 NGVD. THIS IS THE DESIGN FLOOD ELEVATION OR DFE.
  
 1) SPECIFY THE FINISH FLOOR ELEVATION FOR THE GROUND
 FLOOR ON THE FLOOR PLAN IN NGVD 1929. FBC 107.2.1
  
 2) THE FLOOD VENT CALCULATIONS FOR THE GARAGE AREA DO
 NOT APPEAR TO BE CORRECT. THE GARAGE IS 23' 4" X 47' 4"
 WHICH IS 1104.42 SQFT. THE STORAGE ROOM IS 21' 7" X 23'
 4" WHICH EQUALS 503.60 SQFT. BOTH OF THESE AREAS ARE
 BELOW THE REQUIRED DFE OF 7.5' NGVD AND ARE ALLOWED TO
 BE DESIGNED FOR WET FLOOD PROOFING WITH FLOOD VENTS TO
 ALLOW FLOOD WATER TO ENTER AND LEAVE THE BUILDING.
 NON-ENGINEERED FLOOD OPENINGS ARE REQUIRED TO MEET THE
 PRESCRIPTIVE REQUIREMENT TO PROVIDE 1 SQUARE INCH OF
 NET OPEN AREA FOR EACH SQUARE FOOT OF ENCLOSED AREA,
 WHERE THE ENCLOSED AREA IS MEASURED ON THE EXTERIOR OF
 THE ENCLOSURE WALLS. ENGINEERED FLOOD OPENINGS HAVE AN
 EVALUATION REPORT THAT SPECIFY THE AMOUNT OF COVERAGE
 THAT THEY WILL PROVIDE. THE FLOOD VENTS ARE REQUIRED TO
 BE IN AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT WALLS. ALSO THE AREA UNDER
 THE STAIRS IS REQUIRED TO BE OPEN OR HAVE FLOOD
 OPENINGS. SEE FEMA, NFIP TECHNICAL BULLETIN 1 FOR
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. SHOW COMPLIANCE. FBC-R322
  
 3) IN ADDITION TO THE FLOOD OPENINGS, THERE IS A
 REQUIREMENT THAT ALL MATERIALS THAT ARE BELOW THE DFE
 SHALL BE RESISTANT TO DAMAGE FROM FLOOD WATERS. SHOW

 4) PLEASE SUBMIT A RESPONSE LETTER INDICATING HOW EACH
