| WHY YOU MUST COMPLY WITH THE CODE SECTION 403.3.1.1 AND |
| TABLE 403.3.1.1 OR PROVIDE APPROVED (BY THE CODE |
| OFFICIAL) STATISTICAL DATA. A LETTER FROM THE ENGINEER |
| AND THE ARCHITECT STATING THAT THESE AREAS ARE PRIVATE |
| IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO THIS REVIEWER AS NEITHER OF YOU |
| HAVE CONTROL OF THE USE OF THESE AREAS. |
| THIS BUILDING IS A 25 STORY BUILDING OF CONDO?S TO BE |
| SOLD. THE OWNER?S OF THESE CONDO?S WILL HAVE FRIENDS |
| AND FAMILY OVER. THIS WILL EFFECT THE OCCUPANT COUNT OF |
| THESE AREAS. IN THE ENGINEER?S LETTER THE FURNITURE IS |
| BEING CALLED PERMANENT. I SEE NO WAY OF CALLING THE |
| FURNITURE PERMANENT AS IT IS NOT SECURED IN PLACE AND |
| COULD BE MOVED OR ADDED TO. AGAIN THE ARCHITECT OR |
| ENGINEER HAS NO CONTROL OF THIS BUILDING AND HOW THE |
| FURNITURE WILL BE MAINTAINED. |
| THE LOUNGE AREAS SHOW FURNITURE DESIGNS MUCH LIKE YOU |
| COULD FIND IN A RESIDENCE. THIS TYPE OF FURNITURE DOES |
| WEAR OUT AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT SOME POINT. |
| THERE IS ROOM IN EACH OF THESE AREAS TO INSTALL MORE |
| FURNITURE, MORE FURNITURE EQUALS MORE PEOPLE. THERE ARE |
| AREAS IN EACH SPACE WHERE OCCUPANTS COULD STAND. |
| AS WE KNOW THE CODE COMMENTARY IS NOT ENFORCEABLE BUT |
| ONLY AN EXPLANATION AS TO THE INTENT OF THE CODE. I |
| HAVE QUOTED THE 2018 IMC COMMENTARY BELOW THAT STATES |

| 403.3.1.1 ARE BASED ON EMPIRICAL DATA AND ARE |
| REASONABLY ACCURATE FOR THE TYPICAL CASES IN EACH TYPE |
