 NOTE: ADDITION NEEDS TO COMPLY WITH SEC. 507 AND SEC.
 1101.1 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING.
  
 1-THE PROPOSED ADDITION IS GOING TO BE BUILT IN A AE
 FLOOD ZONE WITH THE BASE FLOOD ELEVATION (BFE) OF 6
 FEET BASED ON NAVD 88. DURING THE PERMITTING OF THIS
 STRUCTURE THREE DIFFERENT FLOOD ELEVATION CERTIFICATES
 WILL BE REQUIRED:
 A) CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS.
 B) BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
 C) FINISHED CONSTRUCTION.
  
 NOTE: NEED TO PROVIDE THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS
 ELEVATION CERTIFICATE NOW FOR REVIEW.
  
 SEC. 18-33. - TECHNICAL AMENDMENTS TO FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, RESIDENTIAL.
 SEC. 107.3.5.1.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
  
 2- THE PROPOSED ADDITION IS CONSIDERED A SUBSTANTIAL
 IMPROVEMENT. THEREFORE, THE ADDITION AND THE EXISTING
 HOUSE NEED TO COMPLY WITH THE CITY TECHNICAL AMENDMENTS
 FOR STRUCTURES LOCATED IN A FLOOD ZONE AE.
 STRUCTURES IN FLOOD HAZARD AREAS NOT DESIGNATED AS
 COASTAL A ZONES SHALL HAVE THE LOWEST FLOORS ELEVATED
 TO OR ABOVE THE BASE FLOOD ELEVATION PLUS TWO FEET OR
 THE DESIGN FLOOD ELEVATION
 THIS HOUSE IS LOCATED IN AE FLOOD ZONE WITH THE BASE
 FLOOD ELEVATION OF 6 FEET BASED ON NAVD 88. THEREFORE,
 THE FINAL FINISH FLOOR ELEVATION NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST
 AT 8 FEET. CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS AND ELEVATION
 CERTIFICATE ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW THE PROPOSED FINISH
 FLOOR ELEVATION.
 SEC. 18-33. - TECHNICAL AMENDMENTS TO FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, RESIDENTIAL.
 SEC. 107.3.5.1.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
 SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT:
 SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT MEANS ANY COMBINATION OF
 REPAIR, RECONSTRUCTION, REHABILITATION, ALTERATION,
 ADDITION, OR OTHER IMPROVEMENT OF A BUILDING OR
 STRUCTURE, FOR WHICH THE CUMULATIVE COST IN ANY FIVE
 YEAR PERIOD EQUALS OR EXCEEDS 50 PERCENT OF THE MARKET
 VALUE OF THE BUILDING OR STRUCTURE AT THE END OF THE
 FIVE YEAR PERIOD AND BEFORE THE IMPROVEMENT OR REPAIR
 IS STARTED. IF THE STRUCTURE HAS INCURRED "SUBSTANTIAL
 DAMAGE," ANY REPAIRS ARE CONSIDERED SUBSTANTIAL
 IMPROVEMENT REGARDLESS OF THE ACTUAL REPAIR WORK
 PERFORMED.
  
 3-PROVIDE ENERGY CALCULATIONS AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 1106
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING AND SEC. R101.5 FBC-ENERGY
 CONSERVATION.
 NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE FORMS ARE PROPERLY SIGNED BY ALL
 REQUIRED PARTIES AND IS COORDINATED WITH PLANS TO AVOID
 CONFLICTS/DELAYS.
  
 4-PROVIDE SOIL TEST REPORT AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 1101.1
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING AND SEC. R401.4 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.

 INSTALLATION TO AVOID CONFLICTS/DELAYS. ALL PRODUCT
 APPROVALS NEED TO BE APPROVED IN WRITING BY DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL):

 B)WINDOWS.
 C)ROOFING FINISH.

 D)SHUTTERS IF DOOR AND WINDOWS DON'T HAVE IMPACT
 GLAZING. AND, NEED SHUTTERS COMPLETE INSTALLATION
 SCHEDULE.
  
 7- ENGINEER OF RECORD TO REVIEW AND APPROVE IN WRITING
 (NOT SIGNING AND SEALING) ALL PRODUCT APPROVALS AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 107.3.4.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.

 A)WINDOW TYPE MARK "A" NEED TO BE SAFETY GLASS AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. R308.4.3 FBC-RESIDENTIAL. SPECIFY ON
 PLANS.
  
 B)DOOR AND WINDOW SCHEDULES DON'T SPECIFY IF GLAZING IS
 IMPACT OR NOT. NEED TO SPECIFY HOW COMPLYING WITH THE
 PROTECTION OF OPENINGS (IMPACT GLAZING OR SHUTTERS)AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. R301.2.1.2 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.
  
 C)DOOR AND WINDOW SCHEDULES ARE INCOMPLETE. SPECIFY THE

 B)IT IS NOT CLEAR IF THE ROOF IS DESIGNED AS FLAT OR
 PITCHED. SCOPE OF WORK ON SHEET A.1 SPECIFIES "NEW
 SLOPED ROOF". ROOF PLAN ON SHEET A.4 SPECIFIES "NEW
 SLOPED ROOF". ROOF FRAMING PLAN, ELEVATIONS AND
 SECTIONS SUGGEST PITCHED ROOF (2:12 PITCH), WHILE
 DESIGN CRITERIA SPECIFY "ORDINARY FLAT ROOF". ALSO, IS
 NOT CLEAR WHAT IS THE ROOFING FINISH. IS IT FLAT ROOF
 ASSEMBLY OR SHINGLES OR ROOF TILE. CLEARLY SPECIFY THE

 13-PROVIDE COMPLETE DETAILS/SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE

 R703.1.2.1 FBC-RESIDENTIAL. SPECIFY FRAMING MEMBER AND
 CONNECTORS, SHEATHING, METAL LATH, STUCCO THICKNESS,
 ETC. NEW ENTRANCE SOFFIT AND NEW SOFFIT AROUND NEW
 ROOF.
  
 14- PROVIDE COMPLETE DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
 FLASHING AROUND THE WINDOWS AND DOORS OPENINGS SHOWING
 COMPLIANCE WITH SEC. R703.4 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.
  
 15-VALUATION DECLARED IN THE PERMIT APPLICATION IS LOW.
 VALUATION TO INCLUDE ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, CONTRACTOR'S
 OVERHEAD AND PROFIT AND DESIGN PROFESSIONAL FEES AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 109.3 CITY AMENDMENTS. VALUATION WAS
 UPDATED TO $85,579. THE PERMIT FEE BALANCE IS $979.72.
