 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) THE STRUCTURAL SHEETS SHOW LARGER OVERHEAD DOOR
 OPENINGS BEING MODIFIED. SHEET S-3 AND S-4 SHOW THE
 EXISTING AND PROPOSED NEW OVERHEAD DOOR OPENINGS. NONE
 OF THE STRUCTURAL PLANS PROVIDE THE WIND DESIGN
 CRITERIA FOR THESE OPENINGS.
 2017 FBC-B 1603.1.4 WIND DESIGN DATA.
 THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION RELATED TO WIND LOADS SHALL
 BE SHOWN, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WIND LOADS GOVERN THE
 DESIGN OF THE LATERAL FORCE-RESISTING SYSTEM OF THE
 STRUCTURE:
 1.1. ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEED, VULT, (3-SECOND GUST),
 MILES PER HOUR AND NOMINAL DESIGN WIND SPEED, VASD, AS
 DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1609.3.1.
  
 1.2. RISK CATEGORY.
  
 1.3. WIND EXPOSURE. APPLICABLE WIND DIRECTION IF MORE
 THAN ONE WIND EXPOSURE IS UTILIZED. TABLE 1609.7.2.
 HEIGHT AND EXPOSURE. ASCE 7-10 TABLE 30.3.1.
  
 1.4. APPLICABLE INTERNAL PRESSURE COEFFICIENT.
  
 1.5. DESIGN WIND PRESSURES TO BE USED FOR EXTERIOR
 COMPONENTS AND CLADDING MATERIALS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED
 BY THE REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLE FOR
 THE DESIGN OF THE STRUCTURE, PSF.
  
 1.6. TABLE 1609.7(2) ADJUSTMENT FACTORS FOR HEIGHT &
 EXPOSURE. PROVIDE THE MEAN ROOF HEIGHT FOR THE
 BUILDING.. ASCE 7-10 TABLE 30.3.1. 1609.3.1 WIND SPEED
 CONVERSION VULT TO VASD.
  
 2A) THE PRODUCT APPROVAL SUBMITTED FL 19313-R1
 MANUFACTURER ROLLING DOOR HAS NOT BEEN REVIEWED BY THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD. W. P. B. 107.3.4. PRODUCT
 APPROVALS. THOSE PRODUCTS WHICH ARE REGULATED BY
 FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE RULE 61G20 SHALL BE
 REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING(SHOP DRAWING STAMP OF
 APPROVAL) BY THE DESIGNER OF RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL
 FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.
 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC..
  
 2B) NEITHER THE CONTRACTOR NOR THE DESIGNER OF RECORD
 HAS INDICATED WITHIN THE PRODUCT APPROVAL REPORT # FL
 19313R-1 WHICH SLAT IS GOING TO BE INSTALLED SLAT 1 OR
 SLAT 1A, SEE PAGE 3 OF 6 IN THE TECHNICAL SHEETS.
 107.2.1.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 3) SHEET S-4 WEST ELEVATIONS, CLARIFICATION NEEDED, IT
 WOULD APPEAR THERE IS A EXISTING UPPER TIE BEAM AND
 LOWER TIE BEAM. THE PLANS INDICATE TO CUT 4 FEET FROM
 THE OVERALL TIE BEAM. NOTE STATES THE CONTRACTOR IS TO
 X-RAY AND CONFIRM AT LEAST 3 LEVELS OF STEEL TIED INTO
 COLUMNS ON BOTH SIDES. THE QUESTION IS THE LOWER TIE
 BEAM WOULD HAVE NORMALLY BEEN DESIGNED WITH HOOPS TO
 CARRY THE LOADS OVER THE DOOR OPENING. THE CONCERN IS
 IF THERE IS NO HOOPS OR STIRRUPS IN THE UPPER BEAM,
 WILL VERIFICATION OF THE NUMBER OF HORIZONTAL BARS BE
 ENOUGH? IS THE WEST WALL CARRYING THE ROOF FRAMING
 MEMBERS OR ARE THE ROOF FRAMING MEMBERS PARALLELING THE
 WEST WALL WITH MINIMUM ROOF LOADING? 107.2.1.2
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE
 VERIFICATION OF JOBSITE CONDITIONS.
  
 4) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
 THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR
