 1) PROVISO: ART IN PUBLIC PLACES. THE CITY OF WEST PALM
 BEACH ART IN PUBLIC PLACES ORDINANCE REQUIREMENT THAT
 APPLIES TO ANY REMODEL OR NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR
 WHICH THE PERMIT APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED AFTER
 6/29/14, AND THE TOTAL PROJECT CONSTRUCTION COSTS ARE
 EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN $750,000 WILL NEED TO COMPLY
 WITH THIS ORDINANCE. PER CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
 ORDINANCE NO. 4504-14, AND CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH CODE
 OF ORDINANCES, ARTICLE V, ART IN PUBLIC PLACES, SECTION
 78-123(A) AND SECTION 78-126(A), THE ART ASSESSMENT IS
 1% OF THE TOTAL PROJECT CONSTRUCTION COST.
 PER CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH CODE OF ORDINANCES, ARTICLE
 V, ART IN PUBLIC PLACES, SECTION 78-122, RENOVATION AND
 NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ARE ASSESSED CUMULATIVELY, SO
 THE ART ASSESSMENT WILL BE APPLICABLE TO ALL FUTURE
 PROJECTS.
 SEC. 78-129. - PUBLIC ART ASSESSMENT FOR PRIVATE
 DEVELOPMENT.
 (A) APPLICABILITY. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE AND
 THE PUBLIC ART ASSESSMENT SECTION SHALL APPLY TO ALL
 PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, INCLUDING NEW
 CONSTRUCTION, OR THE RENOVATION OR IMPROVEMENT OF AN
 EXISTING BUILDING, WHERE TOTAL CONSTRUCTION COSTS ARE
 EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN $750,000.00. ALL BUILDINGS
 WITHIN NEW PLANNED DEVELOPMENTS SHALL BE ASSESSED
 CUMULATIVELY TOWARDS THIS ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
 REQUIREMENT, EVEN IF THE BUILDINGS ARE PERMITTED
 SEPARATELY OR DEVELOPED IN PHASES. THE PROVISIONS OF
 THIS SECTION APPLY TO NEW DEVELOPMENT OR NEW
 CONSTRUCTION WITHIN EXISTING PLANNED DEVELOPMENTS.

 2) RESPONSE IS THE CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE. THE PERMIT
 APPLICATION INDICATES THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF
 $2,500,000.00 DOLLARS IN VALUE. THIS MAIN BUILDING
 PERMIT WILL INCLUDE THE FEES FOR THE MECHANICAL,
 ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING & ROOFING PERMITS. WHEN THE
 GENERAL CONTRACTOR COMES IN FOR A BUILDING PERMIT WITH
 THE SIGNED PERMIT APPLICATION FORM BY THE QUALIFIER AND
 OWNER AND BRINGS IN THE LISTED SUB-PERMITS M-E-P &
 ROOFING PERMITS SIGNED BY THE QUALIFIER OF EACH
 COMPANY, THEIR INSURANCES AND LICENSURE UP TO DATE, THE
 M-E-P AND ROOFING PERMITS ARE FREE OF CHARGE. IF THE
 M-E-P & ROOFING PERMITS COME IN LATER THERE WILL BE AN
 $80.00 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR EACH PERMIT.
 ALL OTHER PERMITS FIRE SPRINKLER, FIRE ALARM, RACK
 STORAGE, EXHAUST HOODS, ANSUL SYSTEMS OR ALTERNATIVE
 AUTOMATIC FIRE-EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS, WALK IN COOLERS &
 FREEZERS, ALL LOW VOLTAGE PERMITS, GENERATORS & FUEL
 TANKS, GAS PERMIT, POOL, JACUZZI AND ASSOCIATED
 SUB-PERMITS, AWNING, SCREEN ENCLOSURES, CANOPY, FENCE,
 LANDSCAPE, IRRIGATION, AUGER CAST PILE AND OR
 FOUNDATION OR STRUCTURE ONLY PERMIT WILL BE SEPARATE
 REVIEWS AND ASSOCIATED FEES WITH EACH PERMIT.
 PLEASE PROVIDE AN ITEMIZED LIST AND SUBTRACT THESE LINE
 ITEMS AND THEIR VALUE FROM THE OVERALL BUILDING VALUE
 STATED ON THE PERMIT APPLICATION FOR THIS PROJECT. THE
 REMAINING BALANCE WILL BE AFFECTIVELY THE VALUE OF THE
 BUILDING YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR THIS PERMIT. THE
 BUILDING DEPARTMENT DOES NOT WANT TO COLLECT TWICE FOR
 THE VALUE OF THESE SUB-PERMITS NOT COVERED UNDER THE
 PRIME OR MASTER PERMIT.
  
 3) RESPONSE IS CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE DIRECTION. THIS
 BUILDING DOES NOT QUALIFY AS A THRESHOLD BUILDING BUT
 COULD BE CONSIDERED FOR THE RESIDENT INSPECTOR PROGRAM
 UNDER SECTION 110.3.9 OF THE WEST PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS
 TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, 6TH EDITION (2017)
 CHAPTER 1 OF THE ADMINISTRATION CODE. THE ALTERNATIVE
 IS USING THE CITY INSPECTORS FOR INSPECTIONS, I?VE
 SPOKEN KEN CONRAD CHIEF BUILDING INSPECTOR IF HE HAD
 ANY PREFERENCE. IF THE CONTRACTOR WAS PUSHED WITH
 MULTIPLE BUILDING INSPECTIONS EACH DAY BECAUSE OF TIME
 CONSTRAINTS THE RESIDENT INSPECTOR MAYBE PREFERRED. IF
 YOU WOULD PREFER TO USE THE CITY INSPECTORS FOR THE
 STRUCTURAL PORTION OF THE BUILDING PLEASE REVIEW THE
 LIMITATIONS OF OUR STAFF FOR WELDED OR BOLTED
 CONNECTIONS.
 THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE WELD PROCEDURE
 SPECIFICATIONS & WELDER OPERATOR PERFORMANCE
 QUALIFICATION RECORDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REFERENCED
 STANDARDS AT TIME OF INSPECTION. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
 AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY.

 2017 FBC-B 2204.2 BOLTING.
 FOR THESE TYPES OF CONNECTIONS A 3RD PARTY
 CERTIFICATION WOULD BE REQUIRED. IF THERE IS ANY

 CLADDING TO BE 107.3.4.2 DEFERRED SUBMITTALS.
  
 7) 2ND REQUEST, SEMI-COMPLIED. THE ARCHITECTURAL SHEETS
 HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. THE STRUCTURAL SHEETS S-6, S-7 &
 S-8 ALL SLOPED ROOF SECTIONS STILL SHOW THE USE OF 5/8
 INCH CDX PLYWOOD. PLEASE REFER BACK TO THE 2017 FBC-B
 SECTION 603.1.1.1.3 ROOF CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING
 GIRDERS, TRUSSES FRAMING & DECKING NEED TO BE
 FIRE-RETARDANT TREATED WOOD. THIS IS FOR BOTH TYPE I &
 TYPE II CONSTRUCTION. SECTION 718.5 FOR CONCEALED
 SPACES, EXCEPTION 1 REFERS BACK TO COMBUSTIBLE
 MATERIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 603.
  
 8) SEMI-COMPLIED. THERE STILL IS AN ISSUE WITH HOW THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD IS GETTING THE 2 HOUR FIRE RATING
 FOR THE CEILING. SEE COMMENT # 9 ON THE FIRE RATING OF
 CEILING.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT. SHEET A-5.2 WALL SECTION B, THE LIFE
 SAFETY SHEET DECLARES THIS SECTION OF THE ADDITION AS
 TYPE I-B CONSTRUCTION. IN THE 2017 FBC-B TABLE 601 FOR
 TYPE I-B CONSTRUCTION, THE ROOF CONSTRUCTION AND
 ASSOCIATED SECONDARY MEMBERS REQUIRES A 1 HOUR FIRE
 RATING OF THE LIGHT GAUGE METAL TRUSSES BEING INSTALLED
 IN THIS AREA.
  
 9) 2ND REQUEST. SHEET A5.2 DETAIL A HAS A NOTE WITHIN
 THE DETAIL REV. # 1, FOR A 2 HOUR FIRE RATED CEILING
 CONSTRUCT PER UL DESIGN U-450. REFER TO P-9 ON SHEET
 A-9 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. SHEET A9 HAS NOT BEEN
 REVISED, NO REVISION MARKER IN DETAIL # 5 P-9, STILL
 SHOWS UL DESIGN U415 SYSTEM B. PLEASE NOTE UL U-450
 WILL NOT WORK EITHER, IN BOTH CASES THESE ARE VERTICAL
 WALL PARTITIONS. THEY WERE TESTED IN THE VERTICAL
 POSITION, NEVER INTENDED TO BE USED LAID ON ITS SIDE.
 THE INTENT IS TO MAKE A 2 HOUR FIRE ASSEMBLY
 (HORIZONTAL FIRE BARRIER) FROM THE CEILING ASSEMBLY.
 THE FIRE BARRIER WOULD NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH
 707.5 CONTINUITY. SUCH FIRE BARRIERS SHALL BE
 CONTINUOUS THROUGHOUT THE CONCEALED SPACE, SUCH AS
 ABOVE A SUSPENDED CEILING. THE UL ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE
 TESTED FOR IN THE END USE. A WALL ASSEMBLY CANNOT BE
 PUT ON ITS SIDE AND SAY THAT IT IS AN EQUIVALENT. CALL
 UL ON THAT ONE, THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND AN ASSEMBLY
 IF IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED FOR THE TYPE OF END USE AS
 DESCRIBED FOR U-415 OR U-450 WALL ASSEMBLIES.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT. SHEET A-5.2 WALL SECTION B HAS A NOTE
 FOR THE 2 HOUR RATED CEILING SEE A-9.0 DETAIL # 5. THIS
 DETAIL IS FOR A 2 HOUR FIRE RATED SHAFT WALL DESIGN, UL
 DESIGN U-415 SYSTEM B. THIS SYSTEM U-415 IS A TESTED
 WALL ASSEMBLY, TO BE USED VERTICALLY, THAT IS HOW IT
 WAS TESTED. YOU WILL NEED TO FIND A CEILING ASSEMBLY
 WITH A 2 HOUR FIRE RATING.
  
 10) SEMI-COMPLIED. SUBMITTED FOR THIS REVIEW IS THE
 ESR-1172 REPORT FOR THE USE OF 500 SPRAY-APPLIED
 POLYURETHANE FOAM SPRAY. INCLUDED WITH THE REPORT IS A
 DESCRIPTION FOR DC 315 INTRUMESCENT COATINGS TO GO
 ALONG WITH THE USE OF THE FOAM SPRAY FOAM. WHAT IS
 MISSING IS THE ERS 3702 SHOWING THE TESTING AND USE FOR
 THE DC 315 INTRUMESCENT COATING. SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH
 2603.4.1.6 FOAM PLASTICS SHALL BE PROTECTED AGAINST
 IGNITION.
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT. SHEET A-5.2 DETAIL B INDICATES THE
 INSTALLATION OF ICYNENE SPRAY INSULATION. PLEASE SUBMIT
 THE ICC-ES OR ERS REPORT AND CIRCLE WHICH APPLICATION
 WILL BE USED SEE 4.0 DESIGN AND INSTALLATION. 107.2.1.2
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED. SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH 2603.4.1.6 ATTICS, THE FOAM INSULATION SHALL BE
 PROTECTED AGAINST IGNITION. THIS BARRIER IS TO COVER
 THE FOAM INSULATION.
  
 11) RESPONSE INDICATES SEE THE HEIGHT OF THE
 MID-LANDING SHEET A8.0 DETAIL A. THE FLOOR PLAN A1.0
 STATES THE STAGE IS 1-0 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE FLOOR
 LEVEL OF THE AUDITORIUM. THE 2 DETAILS ARE NOT CLEAR AS
 TO THE TOTAL DIFFERENCE IN HEIGHT FOR THE MID-LANDING,
 IN NEITHER DETAIL A OR B DOES THE PLAN INDICATE THIS IS
 FINISH FLOOR OR HEIGHT OF THE FLOOR STAGE? THE 3 ?
 INCHES + 8 ? INCHES MAKES UP ONE FOOT BUT THERE IS NO
 REFERENCE TO FINISH FLOOR STAGE AND FINISH FLOOR FOR
 FLOOR LEVEL, IT IS CONFUSING. 107.2.1.2 ADDITIONAL

 ORIGINAL COMMENT. SHEET A-1.0 SHOWS THE STAGE 1 FOOT
 HIGHER THAN THE FLOOR AUDITORIUM. IT APPEARS IN THE
 DETAIL 7/ A-8.1 THE STAGE IS CONCRETE BASED. NEITHER
 THE ARCHITECTURAL NOR STRUCTURAL SHEETS PROVIDE THE
 HEIGHT OF THE MID-LANDING OF THE ACCESSIBLE RAMP. 2017
 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION 405.2. RAMP RUNS SHALL
 HAVE A SLOPE NOT STEEPER THAN 1:12.
