 1. A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS (COA) APPLICATION
 IS REQUIRED FOR DEMOLITION OF AN ACCESSORY STRUCTURE
 WITHIN A HISTORIC DISTRICT. ALL DEMOLITION REQUIRES A
 HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD REVIEW, THE NEXT UPCOMING
 DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 19, 2020 FOR THE MARCH 24, 2020
 HEARING. PLEASE CONTACT STAFF TO OBTAIN A COPY OF THE
 COA APPLICATION. ALL MATERIALS REQUIRED UNDER
 ?DEMOLITION: ALL OTHER DEMOLITIONS? ARE REQUIRED ALONG
 WITH A $250.00 APPLICATION FEE.
 2. THE ROOF RAFTERS FOR THIS STRUCTURE MUST BE REPAIRED
 AND LEFT EXPOSED. REVISE ELEVATIONS.
 3. THE SIDING APPEARS TO BE CHANNEL BEVEL SIDING
 (PROFILE) ON THE ORIGINAL PORTION OF THE STRUCTURE. THE
 EXISTING SIDING SHALL BE REPAIRED, WHERE THE EXISTING
 SIDING HAS DETERIORATED TO THE POINT OF BEING UNABLE TO
 BE REPAIRED, IT MAY BE REPLACED IN KIND WITH CYPRESS
 SIDING WITH MATCHING WIDTH AND PROFILE. IF MORE THAN
 49% OF THE EXISTING SIDING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE
 PROPERTY OWNER, CONTRACTOR, OR ASSOCIATED PARTY IS
 REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
 (COA) APPLICATION. ON YOUR NEXT SUBMITTAL PLEASE
 PROVIDE A COMMENT IN YOUR RESPONSE LETTER REGARDING THE
 PROFILE OF THE SIDING ON THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE AND THE
 NEW SIDING THAT WILL BE INSTALLED ON THE REAR ADDITION
 THAT CURRENTLY HAS NO SIDING.
 4. THE PROPOSED WEST ELEVATION REAR WINDOW ON THE
 ORIGINAL STRUCTURE IS CURRENTLY MISSING AND HAS A
 DIFFERENT DIMENSION THAN THE PROPOSED OPENING. ALL NEW
 WINDOWS AND EXTERIOR DOORS WILL REQUIRE A PERMIT
 APPROVED AND ISSUED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
 5. INCONSISTENCIES STILL EXIST BETWEEN THE PROPOSED
 ELEVATIONS AND THE EXISTING CONDITIONS. PLEASE CLARIFY
 THESE ITEMS. IF THEY ARE NOT CLARIFIED IN THE NEXT
 SUBMITTAL, STAFF WILL PROPOSE CONDITIONS FOR
 COMPLIANCE.
  
  
 STAFF STRONGLY ENCOURAGES THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER APPLY
 FOR AN AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTION. THE AD VALOREM
 APPLICATION WILL REQUIRE A STAFF REVIEW CERTIFICATE OF
 APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATION ALONG WITH A $250.00
 APPLICATION FEE. THE PROCESS HAS ADDITIONAL FEES TO
 COMPLETE THE POST-CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF THE
 APPLICATION. THE AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTION PROGRAM IS A
 TAX EXEMPTION PROGRAM WHICH AUTHORIZES GRANTING AN
 EXEMPTION FROM THE INCREASES TO AD VALOREM TAXES FOR
 QUALIFIED IMPROVEMENTS TO PROPERTIES LISTED ON THE WEST
 PALM BEACH REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. THIS EXEMPTION
 DOES NOT APPLY TO ASSESSED LAND VALUE, ONLY TO THE
 VALUE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES AN
 ABATEMENT OF TAX INCREASES ON THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE
 PROPERTY FOR A TEN (10) YEAR PERIOD ON THE CITY OF WEST
 PALM BEACH AND PALM BEACH COUNTY PORTION OF YOUR TAX
 BILL. THE ABATEMENT TIME PERIOD MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO
 FUTURE OWNERS. ALL WORK MUST BE PRE-APPROVED PRIOR TO
 THE START.
