| 2.INDICATE ALL NEW OR EXISTING DOORS THAT ARE EQUIPPED |
| WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC HARDWARE. INTERLOCK WITH THE |
| SPRINKLER AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE NOTED ON THE |
| LIFE SAFETY PLANS, FIRE ALARM PLANS AND ACCESS CONTROL |
| PLANS. |

| 3.ACCESS CONTROLLED EGRESS DOORS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL |
| SEVEN REQUIREMENTS LISTED IN SECTION 7.2.1.6.2 OF NFPA |
| 101 FLORIDA EDITION, 2012. INTERLOCK WITH SPRINKLER AND |
| FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE REFERENCED ON THE LIFE |
| SAFETY PLANS AND ELECTRICAL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM DRAWINGS. |

| 4.PER SECTION 7.2.1.6.2, ACCESS-CONTROLLED EGRESS DOORS |
| ARE PERMITTED PROVIDED THAT ALL SEVEN OF THE FOLLOWING |
| CRITERIA ARE MET: |
| |
| 1). A SENSOR SHALL BE PROVIDED ON THE EGRESS SIDE, |
| ARRANGED TO DETECT AN OCCUPANT APPROACHING DOORS THAT |
| ARE ARRANGES TO UNLOCK IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS UPON |
| DETECTION OF AN APPROACHING OCCUPANT OR LOSS OF POWER |
| TO THE SENSOR. |
| 2). LOSS OF POWER TO THE PART OF THE ACCESS CONTROL |
| SYSTEM THAT LOCKS THE DOORS SHALL AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK |
| THE DOORS IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS. |
| 3). THE DOORS SHALL BE ARRANGED TO UNLOCK IN THE |
| DIRECTION OF EGRESS FROM A MANUAL RELEASE DEVICE |
| LOCATED VERTICALLY 40 TO 48 INCHES ABOVE THE FLOOR AND |
| WITHIN 60 INCHES HORIZONTALLY OF THE SECURED DOORS. |
| 4). THE MANUAL RELEASE DEVICE SHALL BE READILY |
| ACCESSIBLE AND CLEARLY IDENTIFIED BY A SIGN THAT READS |
| PUSH TO EXIT. |
| 5). WHEN OPERATED, THE MANUAL RELEASE DEVICE SHALL |
| RESULT IN DIRECT INTERRUPTION OF POWER TO THE LOCK, |
| INDEPENDENT OF THE ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM ELECTRONICS, |
| AND THE DOORS SHALL REMAIN UNLOCKED FOR NOT LESS THAN |
| 30 SECONDS. |
| 6). ACTIVATION OF THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL |
| AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS IN THE DIRECTION OF |
| EGRESS, AND THE DOORS SHALL REMAIN UNLOCKED UNTIL THE |
| FIRE ALARM SYSTEM HAS BEEN MANUALLY RESET. |
| 7). ACTIVATION OF THE BUILDING AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER |
| SYSTEM OR AUTOMATIC DETECTION SYSTEM SHALL |
| AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS IN THE DIRECTION OF |
| EGRESS, AND THE DOORS SHALL REMAIN UNLOCKED UNTIL THE |
| FIRE ALARM SYSTEM HAS BEEN MANUALLY RESET. |

| 5. PER SECTION 7.2.1.5.5, ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED |
| EGRESS DOOR ASSEMBLIES ARE PERMITTED IF EQUIPPED WITH |
| APPROVED LISTED HARDWARE THAT INCORPORATES A BUILT-IN |
| SWITCH AND THE FOLLOWING FIVE CRITERIA ARE MET: |
| 1). THE HARDWARE FOR OCCUPANT RELEASE OF THE LOCK IS |
| AFFIXED TO THE DOOR LEAF. |
| 2). THE HARDWARE HAS AN OBVIOUS METHOD OF OPERATION |
| THAT IS READILY OPERATED IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS. |
| 3). THE HARDWARE IS CAPABLE OF BEING OPERATED WITH ONE |
| HAND IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS. |
| 4). OPERATION OF THE HARDWARE INTERRUPT THE POWER |
| SUPPLY DIRECTLY TO THE ELECTRIC LOCK AND UNLOCKS THE |
| DOOR ASSEMBLY IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS. |
| 5). LOSS OF POWER TO THE HARDWARE AUTOMATICALLY INLOCKS |
| THE DOOR ASSEMBLY IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS. |

| 6. PROVIDE MANUFACTURERS SPEC SHEETS FOR PROPOSED |
| DEVICES TO BE INSTALLED. |
| |
| NOTE: THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE |
| REQUIREMENTS FOR MAGNETIC LOCKS WHEREBY AN OCCUPANT |
| SENSOR AND PUSH TO EXIT BUTTON ARE NEEDED ON THE EGRESS |
