 I DISCUSSED YOUR QUESTIONS WITH ROBERT BROWN (BUILDING
 OFFICIAL) AND GEORGE JOHNSON (PLUMBING PLAN REVIEWER)
 BEFORE REPLYING TO YOUR E-MAIL.
  
 1) THE PROPOSED KITCHEN FALLS MORE INTO THE U SHAPE
 KITCHEN THAT IS ENCLOSED ON THREE CONTIGUOUS SIDES. THE
 60 INCHES TURN AROUND INSIDE THE KITCHEN WORK AREAS IS
 REQUIRED. ROBERT SUGGESTED THAT MAY BE BY PROVIDING THE
 60 INCHES IN THE ISLE BETWEEN THE TRIPLE SINK
 COMPARTMENT AND THE ISLAND COUNTER WILL PROVIDE THE
 REQUIRED TURNING SPACE.
  
 2) YOU ARE RIGHT THIS IS NOT A RESIDENTIAL DWELLING
 UNIT. THE KITCHEN WORK SURFACE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL
 KITCHENS. SEC. 804.3.1 IS NOT REFERRING TO "RESIDENTIAL
 DWELLING UNITS". SECTION 804.3 MENTIONS RESIDENTIAL
 DWELLING UNITS TO CLARIFY THAT RESIDENTIAL UNITS NEED
 TO HAVE AT LEAST 30 INCHES WIDE MINIMUM SECTION OF
 COUNTER PROVIDING THE KITCHEN WORK SURFACE COMPLYING
 WITH ALL THE REQUIREMENTS OF SEC. 804.3.
  
 3) REGARDING THE MICROWAVE, IF YOU PROVIDE THE
 COUNTERTOP TYPE MICROWAVE, THEN THE MICROWAVE ABOVE THE
 COOKTOP IS NOT EQUIVALENT. IF THE COUNTER MICROWAVE
 FAILS , THEN THE OTHER DOESN'T COMPLY. THEREFORE, THE
 ANSWER IS NO.
  
 4) REGARDING THE SINK. IT WILL NEED TO COMPLY WITH THE
 FRONT APPROACH AND REQUIRED HEIGHT. THIS SINK IS FOR
 PUBLIC USE AN ACCOMMODATION. PLEASE COORDINATE WITH
 GEORGE JOHNSON (PLUMBING PLAN EXAMINER). SEE CONTACT
 INFORMATION BELOW. BY THE WAY, PLUMBING PLANS NEED TO
 BE REVISED ALSO. PLUMBING HAVE NOT SEEN THE PROPOSED
 REVISIONS. THIS MAY AFFECT THE PLUMBING INSPECTIONS IF
 PLANS DON'T MATCH WORK IN THE FIELD.

 THANK YOU FOR GETTING BACK TO AMMI AND I SO QUICKLY
 WITH YOUR COMMENTS. I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS
 THOUGH:
  
 1) I THOUGHT OUR KITCHENETTE WAS A PASSTHROUGH TYPE NOT
 A "U" SHAPE. WE HAVE TWO ENTRANCES/EXITS INTO THE SPACE
 NOT A DEAD END SITUATION WHERE A TURNAROUND WOULD BE
 NECESSARY.
  
 2) SEC 804.3.1 FBCA IS REFERRING TO "RESIDENTIAL
 DWELLING UNITS" WHICH WE ARE CERTAINLY NOT. THIS IS
 MORE OF A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST TYPE SETUP, OR A GRAB N
 GO.
  
 3) IF WE WERE TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL COUNTERTOP TYPE
 MICROWAVE THAT MEETS REACH REQUIREMENTS CAN WE KEEP THE
 MICROWAVE ABOVE THE COOKTOP?
  
 4) I UNDERSTAND THE KITCHEN SINK HEIGHT REQUIREMENT OF
 34", HOWEVER THE THREE COMPARTMENT SINK IS FOR
 EMPLOYEES DOING SANITARY WASHING. IS THERE ANY WAY YOU
 CAN APPROVE A PARALLEL APPROACH OF 36" HIGH BECAUSE
 THIS IS A "SERVICE STYLE" COUNTER OR A "FOOD SERVICE
 LINE" COUNTER?

 1- ARCHITECT STATES ON SHEET A-02 THAT "THIS KITCHEN
 SHALL BE USED AS A DOMESTIC KITCHEN FOR USE BY
 INDIVIDUAL PATIENTS & GUESTS AS WELL AS FOR THE
 PURPOSES OF STORING AND HEATING FOOD PREPARED OFFSITE.
 NO FOOD SHALL BE PREPARED FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION IN
 THIS KITCHEN".
  
 A)PROVIDE COMPLETE DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS SHOWING
 KITCHEN COMPLIANCE WITH SEC. 804 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 212 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY.
  
 RESPONSE:
 (1) SEC. 804.2.2 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY FOR U-SHAPED
 KITCHENS REQUIRES 60" CLEARANCE BETWEEN ALL OPPOSING
 BASE CABINETS, COUNTER TOPS, APPLIANCES OR WALL WITHIN
 KITCHEN WORK AREAS. PLEASE REVISE PLANS AS REQUIRED.
  
 (2) PLEASE SHOW THE KITCHEN WORK SURFACE POSITIONED FOR
 A FORWARD APPROACH AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 804.3.1
 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY. ALSO, SHOW KNEE AND TOE CLEARANCE
 COMPLYING WITH SEC. 306 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY. AND SPECIFY
 THE HEIGHT OF THE KITCHEN WORK SURFACE AS REQUIRED BY
 SEC. 804.3.2 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY
  
 (3) THE LOCATION OF THE MICROWAVE ABOVE THE COOKTOP
 DOESN'T SEEM TO COMPLY WITH SEC. 308.3.2

 (4) PROVIDE INFORMATION SHOWING THE HEIGHT OF THE SINK
