| 1) THE CALCULATIONS FROM WILLIAM RAIOLA, P.E. THAT WERE |
| SUBMITTED, STATE THAT PER FBC AND ASCE7-10 WIND |
| PRESSURES MAY BE INTERPOLATED BETWEEN ZONES. I |
| DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE BUILDING OFFICIAL ROBERT BROWN |
| AND WE ARE AWARE THAT THE FBC BUILDING (FIGURE 1609A, |
| NOTE 2) ALLOWS INTERPOLATION BETWEEN ZONES ON THE WIND |
| SPEED MAPS, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW OF ANY PROVISION IN THE |
| CODE THAT ALLOWS FOR INTERPOLATION OF THE COMPONENT AND |
| CLADDING PRESSURES BETWEEN THE WALL ZONES OF A |
| BUILDING. PLEASE PROVIDE THE CODE SECTION FROM THE FBC |
| OR THE SECTION FROM ASCE 7-10 THAT SPECIFICALLY ALLOWS |
| THE INTERPOLATION OF COMPONENT AND CLADDING PRESSURES. |
| WHEN YOU HAVE PROVIDED THE SECTIONS THAT YOU ARE USING |
| FOR YOUR INTERPOLATIONS AND CALCULATIONS, WE WILL |
| RE-EVALUATE YOUR SUBMITTAL. HOWEVER, BASED ON THE |
| SUBMITTAL WE AGREE THAT IF ANY PORTION OF THE WINDOW IS |
| LOCATED IN WALL ZONE 5, THEN THE COMPONENT AND CLADDING |
| PRESSURES OF ZONE 5 APPLY TO THE WINDOW. |

| BEEN RESOLVED. AS STATED IN PREVIOUS COMMENT #1, |
| RATIONAL ANALYSIS IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED TO INCREASE |
| THE MAXIMUM DESIGN PRESSURES OF A TESTED ASSEMBLY. THE |
| WINDOW SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN TESTED AND THEN SAFETY FACTORS |
| ARE APPLIED PER FBC 1710. |

| 1) NOT RESOLVED. ALL OF THE PREVIOUS COMMENTS HAVE BEEN |
| ADDRESSED WITH ONE EXCEPTION. THE RATIONAL ANALYSIS |
| CALCULATIONS THAT WERE SUBMITTED FOR THE 24" X 24" ES |
| 1500 FIXED WINDOWS IN ZONE 5 ARE INCORRECT. RATIONAL |
| ANALYSIS CAN NOT BE USED TO INCREASE THE WIND LOAD |
| PRESSURES FOR A TESTED ASSEMBLY. THE NEGATIVE AND |
| POSITIVE PRESSURES OF +70, -90 PSF LISTED IN PRODUCT |
| APPROVAL ARE BASED ON THE TESTING AND SAFETY FACTORS AS |
| REQUIRED BY THE 2014 FBC SECTION 1710.5. |

| A) THE WIND LOAD PRESSURES ON SHEET S.04 IN THE TABLE |
| FOR AN EFFECTIVE WIND AREA LESS THAN 10 SQFT IN WALL |
| ZONE 5A IS +90.3 PSF, -165.9 PSF. NOTE #5 STATES THAT |
| THE VALUES IN THE TABLE ARE ULTIMATE AND CAN BE |
| MULTIPLIED BY 0.6 TO DETERMINE SERVICE LOADS OR ASD. |
| AFTER THESE PRESSURES ARE MULTIPLIED BY 0.6, THE |
| REQUIRED WINDOW DESIGN PRESSURES ARE +54.3 PSF AND |
| -99.54 PSF. SINCE THE MAXIMUM NEGATIVE DESIGN PRESSURE |
| FOR THE (2' X 2') FIXED WINDOWS IN NOA NO. 17-1114.10 |
| IS -90 PSF, THEY DO NOT MEET THE REQUIRED PRESSURE. |

| B) THE CALCULATIONS ARE BASED ON PART OF THE WINDOWS |
| BEING LOCATED IN WALL PRESSURES ZONE 4. HOWEVER, IF ANY |
| PORTION OF THE WINDOW IS LOCATED IN WALL ZONE 5, THEN |
| THE ENTIRE WINDOW IS EVALUATED TO THE GREATER PRESSURES |
| OF ZONE 5. |
