 NOTE:
 SINCE I AM GOING TO BE AWAY FROM THE OFFICE, I TALKED
 TO MY MANAGERS AND THIS BUILDING REVIEW MAY BE APPROVED
 WITH PROVISO BY THEM ONCE THESE COMMENTS ARE RESOLVED.

 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 2- THIS BUILDING IS GOING TO BE BUILT IN A AE FLOOD
 ZONE WITH THE BASE FLOOD BFE: 12.7 FEET BASED ON NAVD
 1988.
 CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH ORDINANCE REQUIRES A TWO (2)
 FOOT FREE BOARD ABOVE THE BASE FLOOD ELEVATION (SEC.
 18-284 CITY ORDINANCE NO. 4729-17). THE GARAGE FINISH
 FLOOR ELEVATION IS BELOW THE TWO FEET FREE BOARD. IN
 ADDITION, THE GARAGE LOWEST LEVEL IS GOING TO BE BELOW
 THE BASE FLOOR ELEVATION (12.7 NAVD 88). PLEASE PROVIDE
 COMPLETE DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS SHOWING HOW TO MEET
 THE OPENING AND WET FLOODPROOFING REQUIREMENTS FOR
 ENCLOSURES AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 1612.4 FBC-BUILDING. THE
 OTHER OPTION IS TO RAISE THE FINISH FLOOR ELEVATION OF
 THE GARAGE AT THE LOWEST LEVEL.
  
 RESPONSE:
 THERE ARE ENGINEERED AND NON -ENGINEERED FLOOD VENTS
 SHOWN ON PLANS. PROVIDE COMPLETE CALCULATIONS SHOWING
 HOW THE ENGINEERED AND NON-ENGINEERED FLOOD VENTS SHOWN
 ON THE SHEET A-2.1 WILL WORK TOGETHER. SEE SEC. 2.7 OF
 ASCE/SEI 24-14.

 3- PROPOSED ELEVATION CERTIFICATE SUBMITTED NEEDS TO BE
 COMPLETE AND NEEDS TO BE REVISED (SEC.107.3.5.1.1 CITY
 AMENDMENTS):
 A)NEED TO COMPLETE ITEMS A7 AND A9. SEE FEMA ELEVATION
 CERTIFICATE FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
 B) ITEM C2 NEEDS TO BE COMPLETE AND CORRECTED:
 (1) SPECIFY THE BENCHMARK UTILIZED AND THE VERTICAL
 DATUM.
 (2) TOP OF NEXT HIGHER FLOOR SPECIFIED ON ITEM C2(B) IS
 INCORRECT. REVISE AS REQUIRED.
 (3) ATTACHED GARAGE (TOP OF SLAB) SPECIFIED ON ITEM
 C2(D) IS INCORRECT. THIS IS NOT N/A. THERE IS AN
 ATTACHED GARAGE IN THIS BUILDING. IN ADDITION, SINCE
 THE GARAGE HAS SEVERAL ELEVATIONS, THEN THIS NEEDS TO
 BE ADDRESSED.

 ELEVATION CERTIFICATED SUBMITTED NEEDS TO BE CLEAR. IS
 THIS AN ATTACHED OR DETACHED GARAGE?. FLOOD VENTS
 INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE COORDINATED WITH ITEM #2 ABOVE.

 UNABLE TO OPEN THEM UP. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY MAY BE
 CORRUPTED. PLEASE CHECK DRAWINGS 087-S2.1 DIM.
 FOUNDATION PLAN DIMENSION TO DRAWING 095-S2.1.CJ.G.

 DRAWINGS. I AM ABLE TO SEE ALL OTHER DRAWINGS EXCEPT
 THESE ONES. PLEASE COORDINATE UPLOADING METHOD WITH
 LIBRARIANS SO ALL DRAWINGS ARE VISIBLE.

 SHOWN ON THE SURVEY ARE BASED ON N.A.V.D 1988 OR NGVD
 1929. SEC. 107.2.1 CITY AMENDMENTS. PLEASE PROVIDE THIS
 INFORMATION.

 SURVEYOR'S NOTE #13 SPECIFIES A BASE FLOOD ELEVATION OF
 12.7 FEET BUT IT DOESN'T SPECIFY IF IT'S N.A.V.D 1988
 OR N.G.V.D 1929. IT JUST SPECIFIES BASE FLOOD
 ELEVATION.

 8- PLEASE CLARIFY/REVISE SCOPE OF WORK OF THIS PERMIT
 APPLICATION. CLEARLY SPECIFY IF THE SCOPE OF WORK IS
 ONLY FOR THE FOOTINGS UP TO THE CONCRETE SLAB OR IF
 IT'S FOR FOOTINGS INCLUDING THE CONCRETE SLAB. SEC.
 107.2.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
 RESPONSE:
 RECEIVED E-MAIL FROM STEVE SEALY ON 08/23/19 STATING
 THAT THE SCOPE OF THE FOUNDATION PERMIT IS UP TO THE
 CONCRETE SLAB. I REVISED SCOPE OF WORK IN OUR SYSTEM.
  
 NOTE:
 THE VALUE APPLIED TO THIS FOUNDATION PERMIT WILL BE
 DEDUCTED FROM THE VALUE CALCULATED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
 OF THE REST OF THE BUILDING. SEC. 109.3 CITY
 AMENDMENTS.

 THIS PERMIT ON THE FOLLOWING NOTES:
  
 9- BASED ON THE HEIGHT OF THE BUILDING, IT LOOKS LIKE A
 BARRIER AND COVERED WALKWAY FOR PROTECTION OF
 PEDESTRIANS WILL BE REQUIRED. THIS WILL BE REQUIRED
 PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION. SEC. 3306.1

 10- ART IN PUBLIC PLACES. THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
 ART IN PUBLIC PLACES ORDINANCE REQUIREMENT THAT APPLIES
 TO ANY REMODEL OR NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR WHICH
 THE PERMIT APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED AFTER 6/29/14, AND
 THE TOTAL PROJECT CONSTRUCTION COSTS ARE EQUAL TO OR
 GREATER THAN $750,000 WILL NEED TO COMPLY WITH THIS
 ORDINANCE. THIS WILL BE A PROVISO.
