 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 TYPE I-A.
  
 2017 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL 2 ALTERATION.
 SECTION: 803.2.2 SUPPLEMENTAL SHAFT AND FLOOR OPENING
 ENCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS. WHERE THE WORK AREA ON ANY
 FLOOR EXCEEDS 50 PERCENT OF THAT FLOOR AREA, THE
 ENCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 803.2 SHALL APPLY TO
 VERTICAL OPENINGS OTHER THAN STAIRWAYS THROUGHOUT THE
 FLOOR.
 EXCEPTION: VERTICAL OPENINGS LOCATED IN TENANT SPACES
 THAT ARE ENTIRELY OUTSIDE THE WORK AREA.
  
 1) PLEASE BE AWARE IN MARCH 2011 THERE WAS ISSUED AN
 INTERIOR DEMO PERMIT (11030687) FOR THE WHOLE OF THE
 3RD FLOOR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BUILDING CORE
 COMPONENTS AND A COMMON CORRIDOR. WITH THIS ACTION IT
 WOULD ENACT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CODE COMPLIANCE WITH
 THE 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE 803.2.2 SUPPLEMENTAL
 SHAFT AND FLOOR OPENING ENCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS. YOU
 CANNOT ENACT THIS REQUIREMENT ON THE DEMO-PERMIT SINCE
 IT IS FOR THE REMOVAL OF MATERIALS, BUT IS ENACTED ON
 THE TENANT BUILD-OUTS.
 IN THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION 1016.2 EGRESS THROUGH
 INTERVENING SPACES. EGRESS THROUGH INTERVENING SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THIS SECTION.
 1. EXIT ACCESS THROUGH AN ENCLOSED ELEVATOR LOBBY IS
 PERMITTED. ACCESS TO NOT LESS THAN ONE OF THE REQUIRED
 EXITS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITHOUT TRAVEL THROUGH THE
 ENCLOSED ELEVATOR LOBBIES REQUIRED BY SECTION 3006.
 WHERE THE PATH OF EXIT ACCESS TRAVEL PASSES THROUGH AN
 ENCLOSED ELEVATOR LOBBY, THE LEVEL OF PROTECTION
 REQUIRED FOR THE ENCLOSED ELEVATOR LOBBY IS NOT
 REQUIRED TO BE EXTENDED TO THE EXIT UNLESS DIRECT
 ACCESS TO AN EXIT IS REQUIRED BY OTHER SECTIONS OF THIS
 CODE.
  
 2) PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE LAST KNOWN (PERMITTED) WORK ON
 THIS FLOOR WAS THE DEMO-PERMIT 11030687. THE DOORS ON
 BOTH SIDES OF THE ELEVATOR LOBBY ARE SHOWN TO BE A
 SINGLE SWING DOOR NOT DOUBLE DOORS AND THE REMOVAL OF A
 DOOR AND FRAME BETWEEN THE RESTROOMS AND ELEVATOR
 LOBBY. THE DEMO PERMIT INDICATED THAT ONLY THE DOOR WAS
 TO BE REMOVED FROM THE DOOR FRAME. WE BELIEVED THAT ON
 THE TENANT BUILDOUT A NEW DOOR WAS TO BE INSTALLED.
 WORK COMPLETED WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF A PERMIT.
 2017 WEST PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, CHAPTER 1, ADMINISTRATION 105.1 PERMITS REQUIRED.
  
 3) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
 EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED
 COOPERATION.
  
 A THOROUGH REVIEW OF THE PLANS COULD NOT HAPPEN SINCE
 THERE WAS A GREAT DEFICIENCY IN PLANS AND REQUIRED
 DOCUMENTATION. WITH THE NEXT PLAN REVIEW CYCLE THERE
 MAYBE ADDITIONAL REVIEW COMMENTS BECAUSE OF NEW PLANS
 AND INFORMATION LACKING UNDER THE PRIOR REVIEW.
