 CODE: FBC 6TH EDITION (2017) AND CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 1- FLAT ROOF: ENGINEER TO REVISE RAS 117 CALCULATIONS
 SUBMITTED. ENGINEER IS ROUNDING UP THE FASTENER
 SPACING. ACCORDING TO SEC. 104.5 OF RAS 117 THE
 FASTENER SPACING SHALL BE ROUNDED DOWN TO THE NEXT
 WHOLE NUMBER NOT ROUNDED UP. REVISE FASTENER SPACING AS
 REQUIRED. NOTE: KEEP IN MIND THAT THE MINIMUM FASTENER
 SEPARATION SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 4 INCHES O.C.. SEE
 SEC. 8.1 OF RAS 117.
  
 RESPONSE:
 ENGINEER TO REVISE RAS 117 CALCULATIONS.
 (1) NEED TO USE THE ACTUAL NET WIDTH OF THE ANCHOR
 SHEET AS SHOWN ON THE NOA SUBMITTED. IT LOOKS LIKE THE
 ENGINEER IS USING THE NET WIDTH SHOWN ON THE RAS 117
 CALCULATIONS SAMPLE NOT THE ACTUAL WIDTH OF NOA
 SUBMITTED.
 (2) ENGINEER SPECIFIES TWO ROWS OF FASTENERS IN A 6"
 SIDE LAP. TWO ROWS IN A 6" LAP DOESN'T SEEM TO COMPLY
 WITH THE MIN. 4"0.C. FASTENER SPACING REQUIRED BY SEC.
 8.1 OF RAS 117.
