| FROM CONCRETE SLAB TO CONCRETE SLAB.? THE ORIGINAL |
| DESIGN HAS R-11.1 INSULATION ON THE ROOF AND? R-11 ON |
| THE WALLS.? PER OUR CONVERSATION YOU EXPRESSED THAT THE |
| EVALUATION SHOULD BE DONE USING THE PERFORMANCE METHOD |
| FORM R405-2017. ATTACHED IS A COPY OF THE SAME BUT AS I |
| HAD EXPRESSED TO YOU THE PROGRAM WILL NOT ALLOW AN |
| INPUT OF LESS THAN R-19 FOR THE ROOF THEREFORE THE |
| ATTACHED FOR IS WRONG IN THAT THE ROOFING HAS R-19 |
| INSULATION. |
| AT THIS POINT WE ARE AT A STANDSTILL.? EVEN THOUGH WE |
| HAVE A PERMIT CONTINGENT ON THIS ITEM BEING RESOLVED, |
| WE CANNOT PROCEED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS ITEM IS NOT |
| RESOLVED.? |
| SINCE THIS IS AN EXISTING UNIT IN A TOWN HOUSE THAT |
| SHARES THE ROOF WITH 3 OTHER UNITS AND BEING THIS THE |
| CASE THE UNIT OWNER DOES NOT OWN THE ROOF OR |
| INSULATION, THE SAME BELONGS TO THE ASSOCIATION, HOW DO |
| WE PROCEED. |
| IF WE REFER TO THE 2017 FBC-ENERGY SECTION C501.2 AND |

| AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I THINK YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO |
| COMPLY WITH SEC. 503.1 FBC-ENERGY CONSERVATION (2017) |
| BY JUST FILING THE EXPOSED CEILING AND WALL CAVITIES |
| WITH INSULATION. NO NEED TO SUBMIT ENERGY CALCULATIONS. |
| NOTE: THIS IS ONLY IF THERE IS NO RECONFIGURATION OF |
