 1ST ROUND OF COMMENTS. DISCREPANCY IN PLANS, THE
 ORIGINAL PERMIT 16041215 WAS DESIGNED TO 180 MPH,
 BUILDING CATEGORY III AND EXPOSURE C. SINCE THEN THERE
 HAS BEEN MEETINGS FOR EXPANDING THE SCHOOL, AND A
 FOUNDATION PERMIT APPLIED FOR. THIS NEW SECTION OR WING
 IS AN ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL BUILDING AND THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD WILL QUALIFY THIS BUILDING TO BE A
 THRESHOLD BUILDING. THE ORIGINAL DESIGN WAS IN SINK FOR
 THE ADDITION WITH THE CLASSIFICATION AND BUILDING
 CLASSIFICATION. THE NEW BUILDING DESIGN SHOWS A WIND
 SPEED AT 170 VULT AND A EXPOSURE B. DISCREPANCY IN
 PLANS. 107.2.1.3.
  
 PLEASE REVIEW 2014 FBC-B 609.4.2 SURFACE ROUGHNESS
 CATEGORIES. SURFACE ROUGHNESS C. THIS SURFACE ROUGHNESS
 SHALL ALSO APPLY TO ANY BUILDING LOCATED WITHIN SURFACE
 ROUGHNESS B-TYPE TERRAIN WHERE THE BUILDING IS WITHIN
 100 FEET (30 M) HORIZONTALLY IN ANY DIRECTION OF OPEN
 AREAS OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS C OR D-TYPE TERRAIN THAT
 EXTENDS MORE THAN 600 FEET IN THE UPWIND DIRECTION AND
 A WIDTH GREATER THAN 150 FEET.
  
 FBC-B TABLE 1604.5. RISK CATEGORY OF BUILDINGS AND
 OTHER STRUCTURES. RISK CATEGORY III. BUILDINGS AND
 OTHER STRUCTURES CONTAINING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL,
 SECONDARY SCHOOL OR DAY CARE FACILITIES WITH AN
 OCCUPANT LOAD GREATER THAN 250.
  
 4) BUILDING PROVISO: THE APPLICANT WILL NEED TO SUBMIT
 FOR EITHER A LOCAL PRODUCT APPROVAL OR A SITE SPECIFIC
 PRODUCT APPROVAL, AND WILL NEED TO FILE OUT THE FORMS
 AND FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES TO OBTAIN A LOCAL/ SITE
 SPECIFIC PRODUCT APPROVAL.
 1ST ROUND OF COMMENTS. SHEET A.1 SHOWS 3 DOORS AS
 EXISTING OVERHEAD DOORS, 122,123 & 124. PLEASE NOTE
 THAT PREVIOUS REVISION THESE OPENINGS WERE REVISED TO
 BE MODIFIED. UNDER REVISION 17070951 THE HEADERS WERE
 EXPANDED, AND UNDER REVISION 16080972 WAS APPLIED FOR
 OVERHEAD GARAGE DOORS WITH HYDRAULIC LIFTS. THIS
 REVISION WAS DENIED ONCE BUT HAS NEVER REAPPLIED IT IS
 AN OPEN REVISION THAT HAS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE A
 CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY CAN BE ISSUED.

 6) 2ND REQUEST. COMMENT NEVER ADDRESSED BY THE
 STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS.
 1ST ROUND OF COMMENTS. STRUCTURAL SHEET 1OF 1 INDICATES
 A W 14X26 STEEL BEAM AND 2 VERTICAL 4X4 LEGS. THE PLANS
 DO NOT INDICATE THE WELDS TO THE TOP OF THE VERTICAL
 LEG NOR THE BOTTOM WELDS. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE A/C
 STAND BY OTHERS. THE VERTICAL LEGS APPEAR TO STOP AT
 THE ROOF LINE. THE PLANS INDICATE THE ROOF STAND BY
 OTHERS, THIS MEANS THE ROOF STAND MUST HAVE THEIR
 SUPPORT LEGS AT 33 INCHES APART. THIS ALSO MEANS THE
 OTHER LEGS OF THE A/C STAND WILL HAVE TO HIT THE OTHER
 SUPPORTS PERFECTLY, NO MENTION OF HOW THE ROOF STANDS
 ARE TO BE ANCHORED? 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS
 REQUIRED .

 STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS.
 1ST ROUND OF COMMENTS. SHEET A1 INDICATES WITH NOTE 11
 A HOOD SYSTEM. THIS WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT AND
 ROOF BRACING AND FRAMING FOR THE NEW ROOF TOP OPENING
 AND ANCHORING FOR THE ROOF TOP CURBS AND INTAKE AND
 EXHAUST SYSTEMS. FOR ALL ROOF TOP EQUIPMENT, CURBS,
 FANS OR A/C STANDS, DETAILED ATTACHMENT TO THE ROOF
 FRAMING & DECK AS WELL AS FROM THE CURB OR ROOF STAND
 TO THE EQUIPMENT ABOVE.
  
 2014 FBC-B 1604.4 ANALYSIS. LOAD EFFECTS ON STRUCTURAL
 MEMBERS AND THEIR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY
 METHODS OF STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS THAT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
 EQUILIBRIUM, GENERAL STABILITY, GEOMETRIC COMPATIBILITY
 AND BOTH SHORT- AND LONG-TERM MATERIAL PROPERTIES.
 EVERY STRUCTURE SHALL BE DESIGNED TO RESIST THE
 OVERTURNING EFFECTS CAUSED BY THE LATERAL FORCES
 SPECIFIED IN THIS CHAPTER. SEE SECTION 1609 FOR WIND
 LOADS.
  
 8) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
