 REMOVAL OF THE STAIR, HANDRAIL & GUARDRAIL SYSTEMS,
 SHEET ALS 1.1. & A.1.1.1. NOTE NUMBER 9 INDICATES THE
 WINDOWS LOCATED ON THE 1ST FLOOR AND 2ND FLOOR ARE TO
 REMAIN. THIS CREATES A 2 STORY ATRIUM, THE LIFE SAFETY
 PLAN DOES NOT STATE UNDER THE BUILDING DESCRIPTION TYPE
 OF BUILDING OR IF THE BUILDING IS FIRE SPRINKLERED OR
 NOT.
  
 2A) SHEET ALS 1.1. UNDER THE HEADING COMMON PATH OF
 TRAVEL IS FOR UNSPRINKLERED BUILDING.

 MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL COMPLY WITH 504.
 504.3 OPEN RISERS. OPEN RISERS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
  
 5) SHEET A.30.1. DETAILS 1,2,3 & 4 SHOW A NEW STAIR BUT
 THE DESIGNER OF RECORD HAS NOT GIVEN ANY DESIGN CRITEIA
 FOR THE NEW STAIR FOR LIVE LOADS PER FBC-B TABLE 1607
 (30) STAIRS, HANDRAILS AND GUARDRAIL PER 1607.8.1,
 &1607.8.1.1. THE NOTE ON SHEET A3.0.1 INDICATES THE
 STAIR IS TO BE DESIGNED BY A SPECIALTY ENGINEER BUT THE
 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MENTIONED.
  
 6A) SHEET A.30.1. DETAILS 1,2,3 & 4 SHOW A NEW STAIR
 BUT THE DESIGNER OF RECORD HAS NOT GIVEN ANY DESIGN
 CRITEIA FOR THE NEW STAIR GLASS GUARD. PLEASE ALSO
 PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH FBC-B 2407.1.1 LOADS. THE
 PANELS AND THEIR SUPPORT SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED TO
 WITHSTAND THE LOADS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 1607.8. A
 SAFETY FACTOR OF FOUR SHALL BE USED.
  
 6B) 2407.1.2 SUPPORT. EACH HANDRAIL OR GUARD SECTION
 SHALL BE SUPPORTED BY A MINIMUM OF THREE GLASS
 BALUSTERS OR SHALL BE OTHERWISE SUPPORTED TO REMAIN IN
 PLACE SHOULD ONE BALUSTER PANEL FAIL. GLASS BALUSTERS
 SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED WITHOUT AN ATTACHED HANDRAIL OR
 GUARD.
  
 7) SHEET S-1 SHOWS A NEW 4 INCH SLAB AT THE NEW STAIR
 LOCATION, NO FOUNDATION UNDER THE NEW STAIR. THE WALLS
 SURROUNDING THE STAIR ARE NOT MENTIONED IF THEY ARE
 CONSIDERED BEARING WALLS, IT WOULD APPEAR THE
 MID-LANDING WILL NEED TO BE BEARING ON THESE WALLS OR
 ATTACHED TO THE BACK WALL FOR LATERAL SUPPORT. THERE IS
 ALSO MENTION OF HOW THE NEW STAIR WILL BE ANCHORED INTO
 THE FOUR IN THICK SLAB, NOR AT THE 2ND FLOORLANDING
 AGAIN THIS IS ALSO A UNKNOWN. 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL
 INFORMATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE SPECIALTY ENGINEER TO
 DESIGN FOR THE ANCHORING/ SECURING OFTHE STAIR
 STTRUCTURE.
  
 8) SHEET A4.02 DETAILS 1-3 ALL SHOW THE FEATURED WALL
 TO BE FURRED OUT TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION AND EXCEED THE 1
 3/4 INCH FURRING STRIPS ALLOWED IN FBC-B 803.11.1.1.
 FURRING STRIPS SHALL COMPLY WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
  
 1. BE FILLED WITH MATERIAL THAT IS INORGANIC OR
 NONCOMBUSTIBLE;
  
 2. BE FILLED WITH MATERIAL THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS
 OF A CLASS A MATERIAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
 803.1.1 OR 803.1.2; OR
  
 3. BE FIREBLOCKED AT A MAXIMUM OF 8 FEET (2438 MM) IN
 EVERY DIRECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 718.
  
 9) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
