 REVIEW THE 2010 FBC-B SECTIONS 1023.1 AND EXCEPTION
 402.4.6 ALLOWS FOR MECHANICAL ROOMS, ELECTRICAL ROOMS
 BUILDING SERVICE AREAS OPENING DIRECTLY INTO THE EXIT
 PASSAGEWAY ARE ALLOWED!!!
  
 2) PLEASE NOTE WHEN THE (2) REMAINING FLOOD ZONE
 CERTIFICATES ARE REQUIRED. FLOOD ZONE CERTIFICATES/
 SURVEYORS- DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE
 FBC BUILDING 1612 AND CITY OF WPB CODE OF ORDINANCES
 SECTION 94-546. STRUCTURE IS LOCATED IN AN "A" FLOOD
 ZONE. A FLOOD ELEVATION CERTIFICATE WILL BE REQUIRED.

 THE WOOD DECK ENDS, HOW IS THE FINISH DECK ELEVATION
 CHANGE IN REGARDS TO THE CONCRETE DECK TO THE RIGHT?
 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 3C) WITHOUT THE KNOWN ELEVATION CHANGE FROM THE WOOD
 DECK TO THE FINISH CONCRETE DECK THE PROBLEM MAY OCCUR
 IF THE CONCRETE DECK IS THE SAME HEIGHT THROUGHOUT ALL
 OF THE 2ND FLOOR LEVEL AND THE WOOD DECK BEING 3 ?
 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE CONCRETE DECK, THEN WE WOULD NOT
 MET THE HEIGHT REQUIREMENT FOR THE GUARDRAIL OF 42

 DEPARTMENT INDICATED PLANS WILL NEED TO BE UPDATED IN
 REGARDS TO THE USE OF 2 HR. RATED SHAFTS VERSES THE USE
 OF FLAMEBAR. THE CURRENT SET OF REVISIONS SUBMITTED
 SHOW ON SHEET 437-M5.01 IN NOTE 1 THE USE OF FLAMEBAR
 ON ALL TOILET & KITCHEN EXHAUST DUCT HORIZONTAL OFFSETS
 TO BE COMPLETED WITH FLAMEBAR DUCT.
 SHEET $38-M5.02 A SIMILAR NOTE. SHEET 440-M504 NOTE 1
 ALL SMOKE EXHAUST, PRESSURIZATION DUCTS AND OUTSIDE AIR
 HORIZONTAL OFFSETS SHALL BE DONE WITH FLAME BAR. PLEASE
 NOTE ONCE THE DISCUSSION WAS STARTED IT APPEARS THE
 PLANS ARE NOT CORRECT, AND FLAMEBAR IS TO BE USED
 TOTALLY AND THE ELIMINATION OF ALL SHAFTS.
 DISCUSSION BETWEEN THE ARCHITECT AND MECHANICAL
 ENGINEER SHOWED TO DATE( 7/18/17 MEETING) THERE HADN?T
 BEEN AN AGREEMENT REACHED.
 IN DISCUSSION OVER E-MAILS THERE HAD BEEN TALK OF A
 FLORIDA DECLARATORY STATEMENT, BUT TO DATE NONE HAS
 BEEN PROVIDED. IN THE 2010 FBC-B IN SECTION 708.2
 PROVIDES WHERE SHAFTS ARE REQUIRED AND THE EXCEPTIONS.
 IF THE DESIGNERS WOULD LIKE THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT TO
 CONSIDER THIS UNDER THE 2010 WEST PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS
 TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1, ADMINISTRATION
 104.11. ALTERNATE MATERIALS, DESIGN AND METHODS OF
 CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT. THE DESIGNER MUST REQUEST
 IN WRITING THAT THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WOULD REVIEW, AND
 ALLOW THIS AS AN EQUAL TO THE CODE.
  
 104.11 ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS, DESIGN AND METHODS OF
 CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT. THE
 PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE ARE NOT INTENDED TO PREVENT THE
 INSTALLATION OF ANY MATERIAL OR TO PROHIBIT
 ANY DESIGN OR METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION NOT SPECIFICALLY
 PRESCRIBED BY THIS CODE, PROVIDED THAT
 ANY SUCH ALTERNATIVE HAS BEEN APPROVED. AN ALTERNATIVE
 MATERIAL, DESIGN OR METHOD OF
 CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE APPROVED WHERE THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL FINDS THAT THE PROPOSED DESIGN IS
 SATISFACTORY AND COMPLIES WITH THE INTENT OF THE
 PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE, AND THAT THE MATERIAL, METHOD
 OR WORK OFFERED IS, FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED, AT LEAST
 THE EQUIVALENT OF THAT PRESCRIBED IN THIS CODE IN
 QUALITY, STRENGTH, EFFECTIVENESS, FIRE RESISTANCE,
 DURABILITY AND SAFETY. WHEN ALTERNATE LIFE SAFETY
 SYSTEMS ARE DESIGNED, THE SFPE ENGINEERING GUIDE TO
 PERFORMANCE-BASED FIRE PROTECTION
 ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF BUILDINGS, OR OTHER METHODS
 APPROVED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL MAY BE USED.
 THE BUILDING OFFICIAL SHALL REQUIRE THAT SUFFICIENT
 EVIDENCE OR PROOF BE SUBMITTED TO SUBSTANTIATE ANY
 CLAIM MADE REGARDING THE ALTERNATIVE.
 104.11.1 RESEARCH REPORTS. SUPPORTING DATA, WHERE
 NECESSARY TO ASSIST IN THE APPROVAL OF
 MATERIALS OR ASSEMBLIES NOT SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED FOR
 IN THIS CODE, SHALL CONSIST OF VALID
 RESEARCH REPORTS FROM APPROVED SOURCES.
 104.11.2 TESTS. WHENEVER THERE IS INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE
 OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
 THIS CODE, OR EVIDENCE THAT A MATERIAL OR METHOD DOES
 NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
 CODE, OR IN ORDER TO SUBSTANTIATE CLAIMS FOR
 ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS OR METHODS, THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE TESTS AS
 EVIDENCE OF COMPLIANCE TO BE MADE AT NO
 EXPENSE TO THE JURISDICTION. TEST METHODS SHALL BE AS
 SPECIFIED IN THIS CODE OR BY OTHER
 RECOGNIZED TEST STANDARDS. IN THE ABSENCE OF RECOGNIZED
 AND ACCEPTED TEST METHODS, THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL SHALL APPROVE THE TESTING PROCEDURES.
 TESTS SHALL BE PERFORMED BY AN APPROVED
 AGENCY. REPORTS OF SUCH TESTS SHALL BE RETAINED BY THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE PERIOD REQUIRED
 FOR RETENTION OF PUBLIC RECORDS.
  
 4B) THE OTHER ISSUE THAT WILL NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
 WITH THE REMOVAL OF SHAFT WALL CONSTRUCTION,
 (CONSIDERED COMMON AREAS) WILL BE THE REPLACEMENT WALL
 SYSTEM, USUALLY A CHASE WALL SYSTEM POSSIBLY
 WITH DRYWALL ON ONLY ONE SIDE, AND OR MAYBE INSULATION.
 THIS WALL SYSTEM WOULD STILL NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE 2010 FBC-B 1207.2 AIR-BORNE SOUND. WALLS,
 PARTITIONS AND FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES SEPARATING
 DWELLING UNITS FROM EACH OTHER OR FROM PUBLIC OR
 SERVICE AREAS SHALL HAVE A SOUND TRANSMISSION CLASS
 (STC) OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD TESTED) FOR
 AIR-BORNE NOISE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E
 90.
  
 5) DURING THE MEETING HELD ON 7/26/17 THERE WAS
 DISCUSSION BETWEEN THE USE OF THE TYPE OF ROOFING
 INSULATION TO BE USED. THE ARCHITECT SHOWS ON THE PLANS
 THE USE POLYISOCYANURATE BOARD SHEET A4.31 DETAIL # 1.
 THE ROOFING SPEC 07 5400 IS GIVEN. THE SPEC BOOKS ARE
 NOT INCLUDED IN THE PLAN REVIEWS NOR DO WE REVIEW THEM.
 IN THE MEETING IT WAS DISCUSSED POSSIBLY TO GOING AND
 USING LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE INSTEAD OF POLYISOCYANURATE
 BOARD.
  
 WHEN YOU REVIEW THE LIGHTWEIGHT SPEC SECTION 03 52 00
 FOR LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE ROOF INSULATION WRITER HAS
 MANY OPTIONS AS TO HOW TO WRITE THE SPEC FOR VENTING
 DEPENDING ON LOCATION TYPE OF DECK CONCRETE VERSES
 STEEL DECK WITH VENTING OF DECK OR NON-VENTED STEEL
 DECKING TO ALIEVE THE MOISTURE WITHIN THE LIGHTWEIGHT
 CONCRETE.
  
 I COULD NOT FIND A ROOFING SPEC LISTED FOR 07 5400 BUT
 DID FIND A ROOF SPEC 07 5300 FOR SINGLE PLY MEMBRANE
 ROOFING, THE COMPANIES LISTED ARE CARLISLE, FLEX, GAF,
 SIKA SARNAFIL, AND VERSICO EACH WRITING THEIR OWN
 REQUIREMENTS FOR ROOF INSULATION AND INSTALLATION OF
 SYSTEMS AND VENTING REQUIREMENTS.
  
 6A) WITHIN THE MEETING HELD ON 7/26/2017 THERE WAS
 DISCUSSION ON THE POOL AND REQUIREMENT FOR A SEPARATE
 BUILDING PERMIT. IT WAS INDICATED THERE WILL BE A
 PREFABRICATED WALL SYSTEM WITH POOL LINER.
