 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1E) 2ND REQUEST. THE PLANS HAVE NO SATISFIED THE
 MECHANICAL COMMENTS MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL MECHANICAL
 EQUIPMENT EITHER ON THE ROOF OR THROUGH THE WALL. SCOPE
 OF WORK INCLUDES WORK IN A HAIR SALON THAT CONSISTS OF
 THE FOLLOWING AREAS: SHAMPOOS, PEDICURES, NAIL
 POLISHING, WAXING, AND HAIR STYLING. YOU WILL RECEIVE
 COMMENTS FROM THE MECHANICAL PLANS REVIEWER ON THE
 FRESH AIR AND EXHAUST AIR THAT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR
 PEDICURES AND NAIL POLISHING. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT
 EITHER THE FRESH AIR OR EXHAUST AIR WILL BE THROUGH THE
 ROOF AND MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL ROOF FRAMING, ANCHORING
 OF ROOF TOP CURBS AND INTAKE AND EXHAUST FANS. NONE OF
 THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED FOR THIS REVIEW.
 FOR ALL ROOF TOP EQUIPMENT, CURBS OR A/C STANDS,
 DETAILED ATTACHMENT TO THE ROOF FRAMING & DECK AS WELL
 AS FROM THE CURB OR ROOF STAND TO THE EQUIPMENT ABOVE.
  
 2014 FBC-B 1604.4 ANALYSIS. LOAD EFFECTS ON STRUCTURAL
 MEMBERS AND THEIR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY
 METHODS OF STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS THAT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
 EQUILIBRIUM, GENERAL STABILITY, GEOMETRIC COMPATIBILITY
 AND BOTH SHORT- AND LONG-TERM MATERIAL PROPERTIES.
 EVERY STRUCTURE SHALL BE DESIGNED TO RESIST THE
 OVERTURNING EFFECTS CAUSED BY THE LATERAL FORCES
 SPECIFIED IN THIS CHAPTER. SEE SECTION 1609 FOR WIND
 LOADS.

 1609.3.1 WIND SPEED CONVERSION VULT TO VASD.
 IF THE DESIGNER IS TRYING TO INTERPOLATE BETWEEN
 CONTOUR LINES FOR FIGURE 1609A THE 160 VULT CONTOUR
 LINE IS FURTHER WEST THAN THE CITY LIMITS FOR WEST PALM
 BEACH. INTERPOLATION FOR THIS LOCATION WOULD BE 168
 VULT AND 130 VASD.
  
 3) SHEET A-1.1 SECTION 1 INDICATES A RAISED PLATFORM 11
 INCHES FROM THE FLOOR.

 3C) 2ND REQUEST. THE RESPONSE LETTER INDICATES THE USE
 OF A PORTABLE PEDICURE SPA IT SHOWS COMPLIANCE WITH THE
 2014 ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION 103 EQUIVALENT
 FACILITATION.
 PLEASE PROVIDE HOW A PERSON IN A WHEEL CHAIR IS GOING
 TO ACHIEVE ACCESS TO THE CHAIR ON THE PLATFORM.

 APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 2 AND SECTION
 201.1.1.
 2014 ACCESS. CODE. 201.1.1 VERTICAL ACCESSIBILITY.
 SECTIONS 553.501-553.513, F.S., AND THE ADA STANDARDS
 FOR ACCESSIBLE DESIGN DO NOT RELIEVE THE OWNER OF ANY
 BUILDING, STRUCTURE OR FACILITY GOVERNED BY THOSE
 SECTIONS FROM THE DUTY TO PROVIDE VERTICAL
 ACCESSIBILITY TO ALL LEVELS ABOVE AND BELOW THE
 OCCUPIABLE GRADE LEVEL REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE
 STANDARDS REQUIRE AN ELEVATOR TO BE INSTALLED IN SUCH
 BUILDING, STRUCTURE OR FACILITY.
  
 4) THE VALUE OF THE PROJECT MAY BE INCREASED BECAUSE OF
 THE REQUIRED, INTAKE AND EXHAUST AIR, FRAMING AND ROOF

 VALUE OF THE PROJECT WILL BE OVER $2,500.00 IN VALUE

 MAKE ANY ACCESSIBLE UPGRADES PLEASE REVIEW THE
 FOLLOWING:

 THE AREA SERVED BY A SINGLE PATH OF TRAVEL IF THOSE
 ALTERATIONS COULD HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AS A SINGLE

 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION SECTION 104.9.1 USED MATERIALS AND
 EQUIPMENT. THE USE OF USED, RECYCLED, OR RECLAIMED
 MATERIALS WHICH MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS CODE FOR
 NEW MATERIALS IS PERMITTED. USED
 EQUIPMENT AND DEVICES SHALL NOT BE REUSED UNLESS
 APPROVED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL.
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING. DOOR # 4 NEEDS TO BE A
 36 INCH WIDE DOOR THAT WILL PROVIDE THE REQUIRED 32
 INCHES CLEAR. THIS DOOR WOULD ALSO QUALIFY FOR THE 20 %
 DISPROPORTIONATE COST, THE GRAB BARS DOESN?T SINCE
 THERE IS AN EXISTING 2 FOOT WIDE DOOR, AND NOT BEING
 REPLACED. A WHEELCHAIR BOUND PERSON CODE NOT GET IN THE
 RESTROOM.
  
 202.4.3.1 IF AN AREA CONTAINING A PRIMARY FUNCTION HAS
 BEEN ALTERED WITHOUT PROVIDING AN ACCESSIBLE PATH OF
 TRAVEL TO THAT AREA, AND SUBSEQUENT ALTERATIONS OF THAT
 AREA, OR A DIFFERENT AREA ON THE SAME PATH OF TRAVEL,
 ARE UNDERTAKEN WITHIN THREE YEARS OF THE ORIGINAL
 ALTERATION, THE TOTAL COST OF ALTERATIONS TO THE
 PRIMARY FUNCTION AREAS ON THAT PATH OF TRAVEL DURING
 THE PRECEDING THREE YEAR PERIOD SHALL BE CONSIDERED IN
 DETERMINING WHETHER THE COST OF MAKING THAT PATH OF
 TRAVEL ACCESSIBLE IS DISPROPORTIONATE.
  
 202.4.1 DISPROPORTIONATE COST. ALTERATIONS MADE TO
 PROVIDE AN ACCESSIBLE PATH OF TRAVEL TO THE ALTERED

 ALTERATION WHEN THE COST EXCEEDS 20% OF THE COST OF THE
 ALTERATION TO THE PRIMARY FUNCTION AREA. COSTS THAT MAY
 BE COUNTED AS EXPENDITURES REQUIRED TO PROVIDE AN
 ACCESSIBLE PATH OF TRAVEL MAY INCLUDE: (I) COSTS
 ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING AN ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE AND AN
 ACCESSIBLE ROUTE TO THE ALTERED AREA; (II) COSTS
 ASSOCIATED WITH MAKING RESTROOMS ACCESSIBLE, SUCH AS
 INSTALLING GRAB BARS, ENLARGING TOILET STALLS,
 INSULATING PIPES, OR INSTALLING ACCESSIBLE FAUCET
 CONTROLS; (III) COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING
 ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES, SUCH AS RELOCATING THE TELEPHONE
 TO AN ACCESSIBLE HEIGHT, INSTALLING AMPLIFICATION
 DEVICES, OR INSTALLING A TEXT TELEPHONE (TTY); (IV)
 COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH RELOCATING AN INACCESSIBLE
 DRINKING FOUNTAIN.
  
 6) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
