 1- CONTRACTOR'S RE-ROOF PROPOSAL SUBMITTED VIA E-MAIL
 ON 03/20/17:
 THE ESTIMATED VALUE OF $49,500 IS TOO LOW. THE
 VALUATION SHALL BE THE INDUSTRY'S FAIR MARKET VALUE
 THAT INCLUDES ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, CONTRACTOR'S
 OVERHEAD AND PROFIT AND ALL DESIGN PROFESSIONAL FEES
 (WHEN REQUIRED). SEC. 109.3 CITY AMENDMENTS.
 THE CITY USES THE "MARSHALL & SWIFT" VALUATION SERVICE
 AS A REFERENCE FOR ESTIMATING THE COST OF THE PROJECTS.
 BASED ON THE MARSHALL & SWIFT VALUATION SERVICE THE
 ESTIMATED AVERAGE COST TO INSTALL CONCRETE TILE IS
 $5.79 PER SQUARE FOOT. THIS COST IS FOR NEW TILE
 INSTALLATION ONLY. THE ESTIMATED VALUE TO INSTALL 8,500
 S.F. OF TILE IS $49,215. THEN, YOU NEED TO ADD THE COST
 FOR ROOFING MATERIALS REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL, ROOF
 SHEATHING REPLACEMENT, FASCIA REPLACEMENT, ROOF TO WALL
 CONNECTIONS AND REPLACE SKYLIGHTS AS SPECIFIED ON THE
 PROPOSAL SUBMITTED.
 IN ADDITION, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS HOUSE HAS A FLAT ROOF.
 THERE IS NOT INFORMATION ABOUT THE RE-ROOFING THIS
 AREA. IF THIS AREA NEEDS TO BE RE-ROOF, THEN PRODUCT
 APPROVAL AND COMPLETE INFORMATION FOR THE SELECTED FLAT
 ROOF ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED.
 THEREFORE, THE COST TO RE-ROOF THIS HOUSE IS WELL
 BEYOND THE $50,000. SEC. 105.15 CITY AMENDMENTS
 REQUIRES THAT WHEN ANY WORK WITH A VALUE OF $50,000 OF
 MORE ON A HOUSE THAT IS VALUED AT $750,000 OR MORE
 NEEDS TO HAVE HURRICANE OPENING PROTECTION (SHUTTERS OR
 DOORS/WINDOWS WITH IMPACT GLAZING). NEED TO PROVIDE
 PROOF OF OPENINGS PROTECTION.
  
 NOTE:
 BASED ON THE CITY RECORDS A PERMIT APPLICATION WAS
 SUBMITTED LAST YEAR BY ANOTHER ROOFING CONTRACTOR TO
 RE-ROOF THIS HOUSE. THAT PERMIT NEVER GOT ISSUED. THE
 VALUATION DECLARED IN LAST YEAR PERMIT APPLICATION WAS
 $57,260. THE VALUATION DECLARED IN THE CURRENT PERMIT
 APPLICATION IS $59,500. THE VALUATION ON BOTH PERMIT
 APPLICATIONS ARE CONSISTENT AND SEEMS TO BE FAIR MARKET
 VALUE.
  
 LAST YEAR PERMIT APPLICATION NUMBER IS 16050988 AND
 BELOW WERE THE PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS ON THAT PERMIT

 LOCATED IN THE WIND BORNE DEBRIS REGION AS DEFINED IN
 THIS CODE AND THAT HAS AN INSURED VALUE OF $750,000 OR
 MORE, OR, IF THE SITE BUILT SINGLE-FAMILY DETACHED
 RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE IS UNINSURED OR FOR WHICH
 DOCUMENTATION OF INSURED VALUE IS NOT PRESENTED, HAS A
 JUST VALUATION FOR THE STRUCTURE FOR PURPOSES OF AD
 VALOREM TAXATION OF $750,000 OR MORE; OPENING
 PROTECTIONS AS REQUIRED WITHIN THIS CODE OR FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, RESIDENTIAL FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION SHALL
 BE PROVIDED.
  
 EXCEPTION: SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES
 PERMITTED SUBJECT TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE ARE NOT

 PROVIDE SIGNED AND SEALED RAS 117 CALCULATIONS AS
 REQUIRED BY GENERAL LIMITATION #7 OF NOA 14-0224.03
 SUBMITTED. CALCULATIONS REQUIRED TO MEET THE DESIGN
 PRESSURES OF SEC. R301.1 FBC-RESIDENTIAL, 5TH EDITION
 (2014).
  
 3- PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVAL (2 COPIES ) AS REQUIRED BY
 FAC 61G20-3.002(33) FOR THE ROOF VENTS TO BE INSTALLED.
