 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 1ST REVIEW
  
 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1)THE CONTRACTOR APPLICANT IS IS LICENSED AS A ALUMINUM
 SPECIALTIES CONTRACTOR. UNLESS THIS DEMOLITION WORK IS
 INCIDETAL TO ALUMINUM SPECIALITY WORK, A BUILDING OR
 GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO BE THE APPLICANT.
 PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW YOU QUALIFY TO DO THE WORK.
  
 2) ALTHOUGH THE PLAN PROVIDED IS FOR REMOVAL OF DECAYED
 ORNAMENTAL BEAMS AND IT WAS EXPLAINED BY THE APPLICANT
 THAT AN ALTERNATE DESIGN FOR REPLACEMENT FEATURES IS
 FORTHCOMING THE PLANS ARE INADEQUATE IN THAT THEY LACK
 DETAIL OF WHAT EACTLY IS TO BE REMOVED AT THIS TIME. IT
 MAY BE THAT SUCH REMOVAL CAN BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT
 LEAVING THE BUILDING IN A VULNERABLE CONDITION, BUT THE
 PLAN CONTAINS NO ASSURANCE OF THAT. PLEASE PROVIDE A
 MORE DETAILED PLAN THAT IS OF SUFFICIENT CLARITY TO
 DEMONSTRATE THE PROPOSED WORK AND THAT SUCH CAN BE
 ACHIEVED WITHOUT LEAVING THE BUILDING IN ANY VULNERABLE
 STATE. ADDITIONALLY, THE PLAN MUST BE OF SUFFICIENT
 CLARITY TO BE MAINTAINED IN THE CITY RECORD MAINTENANCE
 SYSTEM. PLEASE PROVIDE A CLEAR AND DETAILED PLAN. SUCH
 PLAN MUST BE SIGNED BY THE PERSON TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
 FOR THE WORK. PLEASE SEE FBC 107.2.1 INFORMATION ON
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE
 DIMENSIONED AND DRAWN UPON SUITABLE MATERIAL.
 ELECTRONIC MEDIA DOCUMENTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED WHEN
 APPROVED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL. CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS SHALL BE OF SUFFICIENT CLARITY TO INDICATE
 THE LOCATION, NATURE AND EXTENT OF THE WORK PROPOSED
 AND SHOW IN DETAIL THAT IT WILL CONFORM TO THE
 PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE AND RELEVANT LAWS, ORDINANCES,
 RULES AND REGULATIONS, AS DETERMINED BY THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL. SUCH DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS SHALL
 CONTAIN INFORMATION, IN THE FORM OF NOTES OR OTHERWISE,
 AS TO THE QUALITY OF MATERIALS, WHERE QUALITY IS
 ESSENTIAL TO CONFORMITY WITH THE TECHNICAL CODES. SUCH
 INFORMATION SHALL BE SPECIFIC, AND THE TECHNICAL CODES
 SHALL NOT BE CITED AS A WHOLE OR IN PART, NOR SHALL THE
 TERM "LEGAL" OR ITS EQUIVALENT BE USED AS A SUBSTITUTE
 FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION. ALL INFORMATION, DRAWINGS,
 SPECIFICATIONS AND ACCOMPANYING DATA SHALL BEAR THE
 NAME AND SIGNATURE OF THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
 DESIGN.
  
 3) PLEASE PROVIDE A SITE PLAN SHOWING THE PROPERTY
 LINES, CONSTRUCTION AREAS, STAGING AREAS, HOW THE
 OCCUPANTS OF THE BUILDING WILL BE SAFE GUARDED DURING
 THEIR ENTRY AND EXIT OF THE BUILDING. SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH 2014 FBC-B 3306.7 COVERED WALKWAYS INCLUDING
 LIGHTING FO THE EXIT DISCHARGE.
 2014 FBC-B 3310.2 MAINTENANCE OF MEANS OF EGRESS.
 REQUIRED MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL
 TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, REMODELING OR
 ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO ANY BUILDING.
  
 4) IF SCAFFOLDING EXTENDS BEYOND THE PRIVATE PROPERTY
 AND ONTO THE DOT RIGHT OF WAY A DOT PERMIT IS REQUIRED
 WITH REGARD TO ANY SIDEWALK CLOSURE.
  
 5) IF SCAFFOLDING IS TO BE USED FOR THE HEIGHT OF THE
 BUILDING, PLEASE PROVIDE HOW THE SCAFFOLDING WILL BE
 BUILT AS WELL AS HOW THE SCAFFOLDING WILL BE ANCHORED
 TO RESIST LATERAL WIND LOADING.
  
 6) PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU ARE TO PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH
 2014 FBC-B 3309.1 WHERE REQUIRED.
 ALL STRUCTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION OR
 DEMOLITION SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH NO FEWER THAN ONE
 APPROVED PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 906 AND SIZED FOR NOT LESS THAN ORDINARY HAZARD
 AS FOLLOWS:
  
 1. AT EACH STAIRWAY ON ALL FLOOR LEVELS WHERE
 COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS HAVE ACCUMULATED.
  
 2. IN EVERY STORAGE AND CONSTRUCTION SHED.
  
 3. ADDITIONAL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED WHERE SPECIAL HAZARDS EXIST, SUCH AS THE
 STORAGE AND USE OF FLAMMABLE AND COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS.
  
 [F] 3309.2 FIRE HAZARDS.
 THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE AND THE FLORIDA FIRE
 PREVENTION CODE SHALL BE STRICTLY OBSERVED TO SAFEGUARD
 AGAINST ALL FIRE HAZARDS ATTENDANT UPON CONSTRUCTION
 OPERATIONS.
  
 7) DURING THE RESTORATION WORK ON THE BALCONIES HOW
 WILL THE TENANTS BE SAFE GUARDED FROM THE WORK AREA AND
 EGRESS ONTO THE BALCONIES? 3306.1 PROTECTION REQUIRED.
