 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) SHEET A-1 CODE SUMMARY, OCCUPANCY GROUP LISTS THIS
 OCCUPANCY TYPE AS A BUSINESS OCCUPANCY. PLEASE SEE THE
 2014 FBC-B 303.4 ASSEMBLY GROUP A-3 GYMNASIUMS (WITHOUT
 SPECTATOR SEATING).
  
 2) THE DESIGNER OF RECORD INDICATES THIS IS A LEVEL II
 ALTERATION. PLEASE PROVIDE WHERE THESE LAST KNOWN USES
 OCCUPIED WHICH PORTION OF THE BUILDING TO DETERMINE IF
 THERE IS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY FOR THE LOCATION OF THE
 GYMNASIUM.
 2A) ALAN WELLS COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE/ BUSINESS TAX
 LICENSE ACTIVE UNTIL 9/30/2016

 DEPENDING ON THE LOCATION THERE MAY BE A CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY. AT LEAST THERE IS A CHANGE OF USE WITHIN THE
 SAME OCCUPANCY TYPE.
 2014 FBC-B 1012.1. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL
 APPLY TO BUILDINGS OR PORTIONS THEREOF UNDERGOING A
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION. THIS INCLUDES A
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION WITHIN A GROUP AS
 WELL AS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION FROM ONE
 GROUP TO A DIFFERENT GROUP. SUCH BUILDINGS SHALL ALSO
 COMPLY WITH SECTIONS 1002 THROUGH 1011. THE APPLICATION
 OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY SHALL BE AS
 SET FORTH IN SECTIONS 1012.1.1 THROUGH 1012.1.4.
 3) SHEET A-3 SHOWS AN ADJACENT TENANT SPACE AND A ROOM
 THAT ENCROACHES PAST THE TENANT SEPARATION WALL THAT
 ALSO INDICATES THIS ROOM IS EXISTING ADJACENT SPACE.
 PLEASE PROVIDE WHICH SECTION OF THE CODE THE DESIGNER
 IS GOING TO COMPLY WITH 2014 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING:
 1012.1.1.1 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION WITHOUT
 SEPARATION.
 1012.1.1.2 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION WITH
 SEPARATION.
  
 4) SHEET A-5 INDICATES THE OCCUPANT LOADS, NO EQUIPMENT
 IS LISTED AS 2,295.9 SQ. FT. AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF 154
 OCCUPANTS. NOTE THERE ARE NO DECIMAL POINTS FOR
 OCCUPANTS YOU ALWAYS ROUND UP TO THE NEXT FULL NUMBER,
 WE DON?T HAVE PARTS OF OCCUPANTS THEY ARE ALWAYS TAKEN
 AS A WHOLE NUMBER. THE ISSUE IS THE AREA WITH EQUIPMENT
 IS SHOWN AS 1,0722.3 SQ. FT. AND AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF
 215 OCCUPANTS. HOW CAN THE AREA WITH EQUIPMENT HAVE A
 LESS OCCUPANT LOAD. DISCREPANCY IN PLANS, IT APPEARS
 THERE IS A TYPO, PLEASE CORRECT THE SQUARE FOOTAGE TO,
 10,722.3 SQ. FT. 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
 REQUIRED.
  
 5) SHEET A-5 AT THE FRONT ENTRY THERE IS A BUSINESS
 COUNTER, PLEASE NOTE THIS DOOR SWINGS AGAINST THE
 EGRESS FLOW. 2014 FBC-B 1008.1.2 DOORS SHALL SWING IN
 THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS TRAVEL WHERE SERVING A ROOM OR
 AREA CONTAINING AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF 50 OR MORE PERSONS.
  
 6) IN THE CARDIO AREA THERE SEEMS TO BE NO AREA FOR A
 ACCESS AISLE. PLEASE SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 2014 FBC-B
 1028.9.2 AISLE WIDTH. THE AISLE WIDTH SHALL PROVIDE
 SUFFICIENT EGRESS CAPACITY FOR THE NUMBER OF PERSONS
 ACCOMMODATED BY THE CATCHMENT AREA SERVED BY THE AISLE.
 THE CATCHMENT AREA SERVED BY AN AISLE IS THAT PORTION
 OF THE TOTAL SPACE THAT IS SERVED BY THAT SECTION OF
 THE AISLE. IN ESTABLISHING CATCHMENT AREAS, THE
 ASSUMPTION SHALL BE MADE THAT THERE IS A BALANCED USE
 OF ALL MEANS OF EGRESS, WITH THE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN
 PROPORTION TO EGRESS CAPACITY.
  
 7) THE PLANS SHEET A-5 SHOW EXITS LIGHTS HUNG FROM THE
 CEILING BUT NO MENTION OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2014
 FBC-B 1011.4 RAISED CHARACTER AND BRAILLE EXIT SIGNS. A
 SIGN STATING EXIT IN RAISED CHARACTERS AND BRAILLE AND
 COMPLYING WITH ICC A117.1 SHALL BE PROVIDED ADJACENT TO
 EACH DOOR TO AN AREA OF REFUGE, AN EXTERIOR AREA FOR
 ASSISTED RESCUE, AN EXIT STAIRWAY, AN EXIT RAMP, AN
 EXIT PASSAGEWAY AND THE EXIT DISCHARGE. ALSO SEE
 SIGNAGE REQUIREMENTS UNDER THE FBC-ACCESS. CODE SECTION
 703.
  
 8) THE PLANS DO NOT INCLUDE ANY HEIGHTS OR ELEVATIONS
 FOR SERVICE COUNTERS SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2014
 FBC-ACCESS. CODE 902.3 HEIGHT. THE TOPS OF WORK
 SURFACES SHALL BE 28 INCHES (710 MM) MINIMUM AND 34
 INCHES (865 MM) MAXIMUM ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR OR
 GROUND.
 904.3.3 CHECK WRITING SURFACES. WHERE PROVIDED, CHECK
 WRITING SURFACES SHALL COMPLY WITH 902.3.
  
 904.4 SALES AND SERVICE COUNTERS. SALES COUNTERS AND
 SERVICE COUNTERS SHALL COMPLY WITH 904.4.1 OR 904.4.2.
 THE ACCESSIBLE PORTION OF THE COUNTER TOP SHALL EXTEND
 THE SAME DEPTH AS THE SALES OR SERVICE COUNTER TOP.
  
 9) ADDITIONAL COMMENTS MAY OCCUR DUE TO THE MECHANICAL
 REVIEW AND ANY ADDITIONAL MECHANICAL ROOFTOP EQUIPMENT
 THAT MAYBE REQUIRED. 2014 FBC-M- 301.15 WIND
 RESISTANCE. MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES AND
 SUPPORTS THAT ARE EXPOSED TO WIND SHALL BE DESIGNED AND
 INSTALLED TO RESIST THE WIND PRESSURES DETERMINED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 FOR ALL ROOF TOP EQUIPMENT, CURBS OR A/C STANDS,
 DETAILED ATTACHMENT TO THE ROOF FRAMING & DECK AS WELL
 AS FROM THE CURB OR ROOF STAND TO THE EQUIPMENT ABOVE.
 2014 FBC-B 1604.4 ANALYSIS. LOAD EFFECTS ON STRUCTURAL
 MEMBERS AND THEIR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY
 METHODS OF STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS THAT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
 EQUILIBRIUM, GENERAL STABILITY, GEOMETRIC COMPATIBILITY
 AND BOTH SHORT- AND LONG-TERM MATERIAL PROPERTIES.
 EVERY STRUCTURE SHALL BE DESIGNED TO RESIST THE
 OVERTURNING EFFECTS CAUSED BY THE LATERAL FORCES
 SPECIFIED IN THIS CHAPTER. SEE SECTION 1609 FOR WIND
 LOADS?
  
 10) THE PLANS MAY NEED TO GO TO PALM BEACH COUNTY
 IMPACT FEE OFFICE FOR REVIEW. BEFORE A PERMIT TO
 CONSTRUCT, MAY BE ISSUED, IMPACT FEES MUST BE PAID TO
 PALM BEACH COUNTY. THE ACTUAL PERMIT SET OF PLANS MUST
 BE STAMPED BY THAT OFFICE, AND A COPY OF THE PAID
 RECEIPT ATTACHED TO THE PERMIT APPLICATION. PLEASE CALL

 11) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE
 REVISION & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES
 AS NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
