 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) THE PERMIT APPLICATION INDICATES PLUMBING DAMAGES
 AND WATER REPAIRS. SHEET A-02 INDICATES WATER DAMAGE IN
 THE APT. # 6 THAT COMPROMISED CEILINGS AND SOME WALLS
 IN APT. 1, 2 & 3. THE PLANS DO NOT PROVIDE UNDER WHAT
 CODE THEY WERE DEVELOPED NOR IF USING THE WORK AREA
 METHOD WHAT LEVEL OF ALTERATION THIS IS GOING TO BE.
 BUILT IN 1962/ 2 STORY/ CBS.
 2014 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE 301.1 THE REPAIR,
 ALTERATION, CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY, ADDITION OR RELOCATION
 OF ALL EXISTING BUILDINGS SHALL COMPLY WITH ONE OF THE
 METHODS LISTED IN SECTIONS 301.1.1 THROUGH 301.1.3 AS
 SELECTED BY THE APPLICANT. APPLICATION OF A METHOD
 SHALL BE THE SOLE BASIS FOR ASSESSING THE COMPLIANCE OF
 WORK PERFORMED UNDER A SINGLE PERMIT UNLESS OTHERWISE
 APPROVED BY THE CODE OFFICIAL. SECTIONS 301.1.1 THROUGH
 301.1.3 SHALL NOT BE APPLIED IN COMBINATION WITH EACH
 OTHER.
  
 1A) THE PLANS INDICATE WITH NOTE ON THE PLANS THE
 REPLACEMENT OF DRYWALL CEILINGS. PLEASE NOTE UNTIL THE
 METHOD OF CODE COMPLIANCE LISTED ABOVE, THE FIRE RATING
 OF THE FLOOR SYSTEM CAN NOT BE IDENTIFIED. UNDER THE
 CURRENT CODE THE 2014 FBC-B 707.3.10 REQUIRES 2 HOUR
 SEPARATION OF FIRE AREAS IN HORIZONTAL ASSEMBLIES ( THE
 2ND FLOOR ASSEMBLY) WHERE AS UNDER THE CODE THE
 BUILDING WAS BUILT 1960-1961 ADDENDUM TO THE 1957-1958
 SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE ADOPTED BY WEST PALM
 BEACH ONLY REQUIRES A 1 HOUR FIRE RATING.
  
 1B) THERE IS ANOTHER NOTE INDICATING THE REPLACEMENT OF
 DRYWALL IN THE PARTITIONS BETWEEN UNITS. THE DETAIL FOR
 THE 1 HOUR FIRE RATED ASSEMBLY PLEASE PROVIDE EITHER A
 UL WALL ASSEMBLY OR GYPSOM ASSOCIATION ASSEMBLY.
  
 1C) THE 1 HOUR WALL DETAIL INDICATES THIS IS A CUT
 SECTION THROUGH APARTMENT 4 & 5, IS THERE WORK BEING
 COMPLETED ON THIS TENANT SEPARATION WALL.

 2) PLEASE REVIEW THE REQUIREMENTS FOR FLOOR INSULATION
 IN THE 2ND FLOOR ASSEMBLY. FOR TILE, STONE, MARBLE AND
 WOOD FLOORING ALL NEED TO HAVE HAD THE SOUND
 UNDERLAYMENT TESTED FLOOR ASSEMBLIES TO THE FOLLOWING
 STANDARDS AND MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS LISTED UNDER EACH
 OF THE STANDARDS FOR A UNKNOWN FLOOR TRUSS SYSTEM OR
 DIMENSION 2X FRAMING MEMBERS.
  
 PLEASE PROVIDE TEST REPORTS SHOWING COMPLIANCE WITH:
 2A) FBC-B 2014 1207.3 STRUCTURE-BORNE SOUND.
 FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES BETWEEN DWELLING UNITS OR
 BETWEEN A DWELLING UNIT AND A PUBLIC OR SERVICE AREA
 WITHIN THE STRUCTURE SHALL HAVE AN IMPACT INSULATION
 CLASS (IIC) RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD
 TESTED) WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 492.
  
 2B) FBC-B 2014 1207.2 AIR-BORNE SOUND.
 WALLS, PARTITIONS AND FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES
 SEPARATING DWELLING UNITS FROM EACH OTHER OR FROM
 PUBLIC OR SERVICE AREAS SHALL HAVE A SOUND TRANSMISSION
 CLASS (STC) OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD TESTED)
 FOR AIR-BORNE NOISE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM
 E 90.
  
 2C) TYPE III-TYPE V CONSTRUCTION:
 FBC-B-2014 720.2 CONCEALED INSTALLATION. INSULATING
 MATERIALS, WHERE CONCEALED AS INSTALLED IN BUILDINGS OF
 ANY TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION, SHALL HAVE A FLAME SPREAD
 INDEX OF NOT MORE THAN 25 AND A SMOKE-DEVELOPED INDEX
 OF NOT MORE THAN 450.
  
 FLAME SPREAD INDEX. A COMPARATIVE MEASURE, EXPRESSED AS
 A DIMENSIONLESS NUMBER, DERIVED FROM VISUAL
 MEASUREMENTS OF THE SPREAD OF FLAME VERSUS TIME FOR A
 MATERIAL TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 84 OR UL 723.
  
 3) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
 EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED
