 STAIRWELL TO HAVE A 2 HOUR FIRE RATING. TO USE
 FLAMEBAR. SHEET A6.01A DETAIL 01 DOES NOT SHOW A DUCT
 GOING THROUGH THE STAIRWELL. SHEET A6.03 DETAILS 03 &
 04 ARE CUT SECTIONS THROUGH THE STAIRWELL 2 BUT AGAIN
 NO DUCTS ARE SHOWN PENETRATING THE STAIRWELL ENCLOSURE.
 2014 FBC-B 1022.5 PENETRATIONS. PENETRATIONS INTO AND
 OPENINGS THROUGH INTERIOR EXIT STAIRWAYS AND RAMPS ARE
 PROHIBITED EXCEPT FOR REQUIRED EXIT DOORS, EQUIPMENT
 AND DUCTWORK NECESSARY FOR INDEPENDENT VENTILATION OR
 PRESSURIZATION, SPRINKLER PIPING, STANDPIPES,
 ELECTRICAL RACEWAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATION
 SYSTEMS AND ELECTRICAL RACEWAY SERVING THE INTERIOR
 EXIT STAIRWAY AND RAMP AND TERMINATING AT A STEEL BOX
 NOT EXCEEDING 16 SQUARE INCHES (0.010 M2). SUCH
 PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 714. THERE SHALL BE NO PENETRATIONS OR
 COMMUNICATING OPENINGS, WHETHER PROTECTED OR NOT,
 BETWEEN ADJACENT INTERIOR EXIT STAIRWAYS AND RAMPS.
  
 4TH REVIEW - RESPONSE LETTER STATES: "WE ARE PROVIDING
 A 2 HOUR RATED ENCLOSURE THAT ALLOWS MECHANICAL DUCTS
 TO RUN THRU IT WHILE ISOLATING THEM FROM THE STAIR."
  
 THE DETAIL 06 IS LABELED U415, BUT NOT CLEAR WHICH
 OPTION (OF UL U415) IS PROPOSED (SEE UL DIRECTORY;
 MULTIPLE OPTIONS AVAILABLE). THE TOP SHOWS 1/2" FIRE
 SEALANT; SHOULDN'T THIS BE A 2 HOUR HEAD OF WALL DETAIL
 IF USING THE STAIR LANDING AS A PART OF THE
 "ENCLOSURE"? RESPONSE LETTER STATES THAT THE 2 HOUR
 RATED ENCLOSURE ISOLATES THE DUCTS FROM THE STAIR, BUT
 IT APPEARS THAT YOU PROPOSE TO USE THE BOTTOM OF A
 STAIR LANDING AS A PART OF THE DUCT ENCLOSURE (DOES NOT
 APPEAR "ISOLATED"). PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION NOT CLEAR; IS
 THIS TO BE CONSTRUCTED AS A SHAFT, FBC B 713? IF
 PORTIONS OF THE STAIR ITSELF ARE UTILIZED FOR THIS
 ENCLOSURE, HOW HAS HEAT TRANSFER BEEN ADDRESSED? IT
 APPEARS THAT A FIRE IN THE SHAFT COULD RESULT IN LOSS
 OF THE ABILITY TO USE THE STAIR DUE TO HEAT. IT DOES
 NOT APPEAR THAT THE RATING IS TO THE INSIDE AS WELL AS
 THE OUTSIDE; IT APPEARS THAT THE RISK IS GREATER FROM
 THE INSIDE (FIRE RISK FROM DUCT TO INSIDE OF STAIR).
  
 PRIOR TO RESUBMITTING, SEND A DETAIL VIA EMAIL FOR
 PRELIMINARY REVIEW.
  
 43) FROM PREVIOUS LIST, COMMENT #12 UNDER MECHANICAL
 REVIEW #3. THE SHAFT ENCLOSING THE OAR-1 DUCT SHALL BE
 CONTINUOUS THROUGH THE ELEVATOR LOBBY AND GARAGE PER
 FBC B 707.5, 711.4 & 713.5.
  
 4TH REVIEW, RESPONSE IS THAT DUCT IS 2 HOUR RATED AND
 CONTINUOUS, INCLUDING OFFSETS. IT APPEARS THAT RATHER
 THAN PROVIDING A RATED SHAFT, FLAMEBAR IS PROPOSED.
 PLEASE ADVISE WHERE THIS IS PERMITTED IN THE CODE. IF
 THIS IS ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS AND METHODS, THIS MUST BE
 APPROVED BY BUILDING OFFICIAL.
  
 IF REQUESTING VIA ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS AND METHODS FBC
 104.11 - THIS SHOULD BE REQUESTED, IN WRITING VIA A
 SIGNED AND SEALED LETTER: "AN ALTERNATIVE MATERIAL,
 DESIGN OR METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE APPROVED
 WHERE THE BUILDING OFFICIAL FINDS THAT THE PROPOSED
 DESIGN IS SATISFACTORY AND COMPLIES WITH THE INTENT OF
 THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE, AND THAT THE MATERIAL,
 METHOD OR WORK OFFERED IS, FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED, AT
 LEAST THE EQUIVALENT OF THAT PRESCRIBED IN THIS CODE IN
 QUALITY, STRENGTH, EFFECTIVENESS, FIRE RESISTANCE,
 DURABILITY AND SAFETY."
  
 ALL INFORMATION - PRODUCT DATA SHEETS, ENGINEERING
 ANALYSIS, TEST REPORTS, ETC. AS APPLICABLE SHOULD BE
 SUBMITTED WITH THE LETTER.
  
 44) BEFORE A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT, MAY BE ISSUED, IMPACT
 FEES MUST BE PAID TO PALM BEACH COUNTY. THE ACTUAL
 PERMIT SET OF PLANS MUST BE STAMPED BY THAT OFFICE, AND
 A COPY OF THE PAID RECEIPT ATTACHED TO THE PERMIT
 APPLICATION. PLEASE CALL (561)233-5025 FOR MORE

 REVISION & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES

 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
