 NOTE:
 07/25/16 TALKED TO WARREN VON WERNE (ENGINEER OF
 RECORD) TO GO OVER COMMENTS. IT LOOKS LIKE MR. VON
 WERNE DIDN'T GET MY SECOND REVIEW COMMENTS. I AM
 E-MAILING THE COMMENTS BELOW TO MR. VON WERNE. THE
 COMMENTS BELOW ARE A COPY OF THE SECOND REVIEW, SINCE
 THE RE-SUBMITTAL PACKAGE DOESN'T ADDRESS THOSE
 COMMENTS:
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 1- ORIGINAL APPROVED PLANS DON'T INCLUDE FLAT ROOF
 SYSTEMS. ENGINEER OF RECORD NEEDS TO REVISE PLANS
 SPECIFYING THE PROPOSED FLAT ROOF.
 PROVIDE TWO SIGNED AND SEALED DRAWINGS SHOWING THE
 REVISION. SEC. R301 OF 2010 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.
 RESPONSE:
 A) REVISED DRAWING S-2 SPECIFIES "MODIFIED BITUMEN
 ROOFING OVER 3/4" PLYWOOD SHEATHING (PER NOA
 #13-1022.15, 13-0416.05, AND #12-1219.02)". IT IS NOT
 CLEAR WHAT IS GOING TO BE THE FINISH ROOF MATERIAL.
 SPECIFIED NOA'S ARE FOR THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF
 ASSEMBLIES BY DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER'S. NEED TO PROVIDE
 THE FOLLOWING:
 (1)IDENTIFY WHICH NOA IS GOING TO BE USED IN THIS ROOF
 DECK, THEN PROVIDE COMPLETE NOA (2 COPIES).
 (2) IDENTIFY WHICH APPROVED ASSEMBLY IS GOING TO BE
 USED.
 (3) PROVIDE SIGNED AND SEALED RAS 117 CALCULATIONS (2
 COPIES) AS REQUIRED BY GENERAL LIMITATION #7 ON LAST
 PAGE OF NOA. (NOTE: ASSEMBLIES WITH GENERAL LIMITATION
 #9 CAN NOT BE USED BECAUSE THEY DON'T ALLOW RAS 117
 CALCULATIONS).
  
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 2- FLAT ROOF NOA 11-0601.10 SUBMITTED IS NOT DESIGNED
 FOR FLAT ROOF. THIS NOA IS AN UNDERLAYMENT FOR PITCHED.
 ROOFS. REVISE AS REQUIRED.
 (A) PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVAL (2 COPIES) FOR FLAT ROOF
 SYSTEM THAT IS DESIGNED FOR THE ROOF DECK FINISH AS
 SPECIFIED ON PLANS.
 FAC 61G20-3.002(33).
 RESPONSE:
 SEE COMMENTS FOR ITEM #1 ABOVE AND COORDINATE
 ACCORDINGLY.
  
 (B) CLEARLY IDENTIFY APPROVED ASSEMBLY TO BE USED FROM
 THE PRODUCT APPROVAL RE-SUBMITTED TO VERIFY COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE DESIGN PRESSURES OF SEC. R301 OF 2010
 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.
 RESPONSE:
 SEE COMMENTS FOR ITEM #1 ABOVE AND COORDINATE

 (C) IF THE SELECTED ASSEMBLY DOESN'T MEET THE
 CALCULATED DESIGN PRESSURES, THEN SIGNED AND SEALED RAS
 117 CALCULATIONS ARE REQUIRED. SEE PRODUCT APPROVAL
 SUBMITTED. SEC. R301 OF 2010 FBC-RESIDENTIAL.

 (D) ENGINEER OF RECORD TO REVIEW AND APPROVE IN WRITING
 (NOT SIGNING AND SEALING) FLAT ROOF PRODUCT APPROVAL AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 107.3.4.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.
 RESPONSE:
 SEE COMMENTS FOR ITEM #1 ABOVE AND COORDINATE
 ACCORDINGLY.
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 3- THIS FLAT ROOF SYSTEM WAS NOT PART OF THE APPROVED
 PLANS. SPECIFY THE ADDITIONAL VALUE FOR THE NEW FLAT
 ROOF AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 109.3 CITY AMENDMENTS.
 RESPONSE:
 THERE ARE MORE REVISION SHOWN ON SHEET S-2. REVISED
 PLAN SHOW NEW W12X22 STEEL BEAMS INSTEAD OF GLU LAM
 BEAMS. SPECIFY THE ADDITIONAL VALUE BASED ON THE
 PROPOSED REVISIONS. INCLUDE THE ENGINEER'S DESIGN FEES
 AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 109.3 CITY AMENDMENTS
  
 NEW COMMENT:
 4- PATIO FRAMING PLAN ON SHEET S-2 SPECIFIES NEW W12X22
 STEEL BEAMS. DETAILS ON SHEET S-3 WERE NOT REVISED TO
 SHOW THE CONNECTIONS OF WOOD JOISTS TO THE STEEL BEAM.
 PROVIDE DETAILS FOR:
 A) CONNECTION OF WOOD JOIST TO STEEL BEAM. SEC. R301.1
 FBC 2010.
  
 B) CONNECTION OF 3/4" PLYWOOD TO THE STEED BEAM. SEC.
 R301.1 FBC 2010.
  
 C) CONNECTION OF 1X6 T&G WOOD CEILING TO STEEL BEAM.
 SEC. R301.1 FBC 2010.
  
 5- PROVIDE COMPLETE DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
 WOOD RAILING BY THE SPECIALTY ENGINEER AS SPECIFIED ON
 DETAILS ON SHEET S-3.

 PROVIDED FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO INSPECTIONS TO AVOID
