 APPLICANT, THE HPD WILL APPROVE A ONE-TIME INSTALLATION
 OF BERMUDA/BAHAMIAN LOUVERED ALUMINUM SHUTTERS FOR
 INSTALLATION ON THE SECOND FLOOR, GIVEN THE EXISTING
 PRESENCE OF SHUTTERS ON THE RESIDENCE AND THE DESIRE TO
 MAINTAIN STORM PROTECTION DURING THE HURRICANE SEASON.
 THE SHUTTERS ARE A REVERSIBLE CHANGE, AND CAN BE
 REMOVED ONCE AN OWNER DECIDES TO RESTORE THE MISSION
 REVIVAL RESIDENCE TO ITS HISTORIC APPEARANCE. THE
 EXISTING VINYL SIDING GREATLY DEGRADES ITS AUTHENTIC
 HISTORIC APPEARANCE, AND THE PROPOSED BERMUDA SHUTTERS
 ARE ALSO NOT IN CHARACTER. VINYL SIDING MAY PROVE
 PROBLEMATIC FOR FUTURE REHABILITATION WORK, AS VINYL
 SIDING TRAPS MOISTURE WITHIN THE INTERIOR FRAMING, AND
 CAN CREATE FUTURE STRUCTURAL CONCERNS FROM WOOD ROT.
 FUTURE PROPOSED SITE WORK SHOULD FOCUS ON THE
 RESTORATION OF HISTORIC FINISHES, INCLUDING THE
 REAPPLICATION OF STUCCO EXTERIOR FINISH, AND
 COLONIAL-STYLE SHUTTERS OR STRAIGHT CANVAS AWNING
 WINDOW SHADES. DLE

 WITHIN HISTORIC DISTRICTS, ESPECIALLY ON MISSION STYLE
 ARCHITECTURE. APPLICANT IS ENCOURAGED TO PURSUE
 COLONIAL-STYLE FOLDING SHUTTERS, CANVAS AWNINGS, OR
 ARMORSCREEN PROTECTION TO GAIN THE SAME BENEFIT FROM
