 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) A MEETING WAS HELD TODAY WITH THE CONTRACTOR CHRIS
 TYSON AND THE PRESIDENT OF P.B.A.U. AND MYSELF ON THE
 TOPIC OF STAIR PRESSUREIZATION AND THE COORDINATING OF
 THE PLANS FOR THE VARIOUS TRADES, WHO WILL BE THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT AND THE SHOP
 DRAWING OF THE APPROVAL BY THE DESIGNER OF RECORD. THE
 (2) SUBMITTED STAIR PRESSURE DESIGN DOCUMENTS WILL
 REFLECT THE SAME EQUIPMENT AND DESIGN, NOT TO DIFFERENT
 DESIGNS.
 2) WE ALSO TALKED ABOUT THE REQUIREMENT ON THE NEXT
 SUBMITTAL ALL EXISITNG PERMIT APPLICATIONS AND THE
 ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL AND FIRE ALARM.
 3) THE CGC PERMIT APPLICATION WILL NEED TO BE MODIFIED
 IN THE SCOPE OF WORK TO REFLECT WHAT CAN BE COVERED
 UNDER THE CGC LICENSURE.
 4) THE CGC PERMIT AND PLANS WILL ALSO NEED TO REFLECT
 THE ROOF TOP CURBS, AND INTAKE FANS, AS WEL AS THE NEW
 A/C STANDS THAT WERE ADDED UNDER THE ROOFING PERMIT
 WHICH DOES NOT SHOW ANY OF THESE PRODUCT APPROVALS
 SUBMITTED UNDER THAT PERMIT IN FILE NET THE BUILDING
 DEPARTMENT RECORD RETENSION PROGRAM.
 THE ROOFING PERMIT ALSO INDICATES THE INSTALATION OF A
 NEW DOOR ITEM # 18 CORRIN DOOR, NO PRODUCT APPROVAL HAD
 BEEN SUBMITTED.

 7) 2014 FBC-B 909.2 GENERAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS.
 BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES OR PARTS THEREOF REQUIRED BY THIS
 CODE TO HAVE A SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM OR SYSTEMS SHALL
 HAVE SUCH SYSTEMS DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
 APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 909 AND THE
 GENERALLY ACCEPTED AND WELL-ESTABLISHED PRINCIPLES OF
 ENGINEERING RELEVANT TO THE DESIGN. THE CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS SHALL INCLUDE SUFFICIENT INFORMATION AND
 DETAIL TO ADEQUATELY DESCRIBE THE ELEMENTS OF THE
 DESIGN NECESSARY FOR THE PROPER IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
 SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS. THESE DOCUMENTS SHALL BE
 ACCOMPANIED BY SUFFICIENT INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS TO
 DEMONSTRATE COMPLIANCE WITH THESE PROVISIONS.
  
 8) 2014 FBC-B 909.4 ANALYSIS. A RATIONAL ANALYSIS
 SUPPORTING THE TYPES OF SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS TO BE
 EMPLOYED, THEIR METHODS OF OPERATION, THE SYSTEMS
 SUPPORTING THEM AND THE METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION TO BE
 UTILIZED SHALL ACCOMPANY THE SUBMITTED CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS AND SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, THE
 ITEMS INDICATED IN SECTIONS 909.4.1 THROUGH 909.4.6.
  
 9) PLEASE SEE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ROOF TOP GUARDS,
 1013.6 MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.
 GUARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE APPLIANCES, EQUIPMENT,
 FANS, ROOF HATCH OPENINGS OR OTHER COMPONENTS THAT
 REQUIRE SERVICE ARE LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET (3048 MM) OF
 A ROOF EDGE OR OPEN SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE AND SUCH
 EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS LOCATED MORE THAN 30 INCHES (762
 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR, ROOF OR GRADE BELOW. THE GUARD
 SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED SO AS TO PREVENT THE PASSAGE OF A
 SPHERE 21 INCHES (533 MM) IN DIAMETER. THE GUARD SHALL
 EXTEND NOT LESS THAN 30 INCHES (762 MM) BEYOND EACH END
 OF SUCH APPLIANCE, EQUIPMENT, FAN OR COMPONENT.
  
 10) 1013.7 ROOF ACCESS. GUARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE
 THE ROOF HATCH OPENING IS LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET (3048
 MM) OF A ROOF EDGE OR OPEN SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE
 AND SUCH EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS LOCATED MORE THAN 30
 INCHES (762 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR, ROOF OR GRADE BELOW.
 THE GUARD SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED SO AS TO PREVENT THE
 PASSAGE OF A SPHERE 21 INCHES (533 MM) IN DIAMETER.
  
 11) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE
 REVISION & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES
 AS NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
 EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED
