 THE SMOKE CONTROL AND EXHAUST SYSTEMS INCLUDING
 STAIRWAY AND ELEVATOR PRESSURIZATION FANS, THE
 ROOF-MOUNTED SMOKE EXHAUST FAN SEF-1, AND THE ELEVATOR
 HOISTWAY RELIEF LOUVERED OPENINGS (SEE COMMENT 8 FOR
 FURTHER SMOKE CONTROL REQUIREMENTS). CALCULATIONS ARE
 ALSO REQUIRED FOR OTHER FANS LISTED IN THE SCHEDULE NOT
 RELATED TO THE SMOKE CONTROL.
  
 7) REFERENCE SHEET M4.07 AND M2.3.1- M2.6.1: THE SMOKE
 CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS
 OUTLINE ON M4.07 MAKES NO REFERENCES TO ZONE SYSTEMS
 FOR THE APARTMENTS AND CORRIDORS ON THE 3RD AND 5TH
 FLOORS, NOR ARE ANY SYSTEMS SHOWN FOR SMOKE CONTROL AND
 STAIRWAY/ELEVATOR PRESSURIZATIONS ON THESE FLOORS.
 PLEASE CLARIFY WHY STAIRWELL #3 IS INCLUDED IN THE
 PRESSURIZATION FAN FLOW DIAGRAM ON M4.07.
  
 8) M4.07 SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS: PLEASE CLARIFY NOTE 2
 UNDER ZONES 2-14. WILL THE TYPICAL O/A FSD?S ON THE
 FLOOR OF THE SMOKE ZONE REMAIN OPEN OR CLOSED AT THE
 CORRIDOR, AND AT THE AC CLOSETS
  
 9) THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL OF RECORD SHALL SUBMIT A
 RATIONAL ANALYSIS FOR THE PROPOSED SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM
 IN COMPLIANCE WITH 513 FBC-10 MECHANICAL. PLEASE REVIEW
 AND COMPLY THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS:
  
 513.2 GENERAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS.
 BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, OR PARTS THEREOF REQUIRED BY
 THIS CODE TO HAVE A SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM OR SYSTEMS
 SHALL HAVE SUCH SYSTEMS DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
 APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 909 OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING AND THE GENERALLY ACCEPTED AND
 WELL-ESTABLISHED PRINCIPLES OF ENGINEERING RELEVANT TO
 THE DESIGN. THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL INCLUDE
 SUFFICIENT INFORMATION AND DETAIL TO DESCRIBE
 ADEQUATELY THE ELEMENTS OF THE DESIGN NECESSARY FOR THE
 PROPER IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS.
 THESE DOCUMENTS SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED WITH SUFFICIENT
 INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS TO DEMONSTRATE COMPLIANCE WITH
 THESE PROVISIONS
  
 513.3 SPECIAL INSPECTION AND TEST REQUIREMENTS.
 IN ADDITION TO THE ORDINARY INSPECTION AND TEST
 REQUIREMENTS WHICH BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND PARTS
 THEREOF ARE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO, SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS
 SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 909 OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING SHALL UNDERGO SPECIAL
 INSPECTIONS AND TESTS SUFFICIENT TO VERIFY THE PROPER
 COMMISSIONING OF THE SMOKE CONTROL DESIGN IN ITS FINAL
 INSTALLED CONDITION. THE DESIGN SUBMISSION ACCOMPANYING
 THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL CLEARLY DETAIL
 PROCEDURES AND METHODS TO BE USED AND THE ITEMS SUBJECT
 TO SUCH INSPECTIONS AND TESTS. SUCH COMMISSIONING SHALL
 BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED ENGINEERING
 PRACTICE AND, WHERE POSSIBLE, BASED ON PUBLISHED
 STANDARDS FOR THE PARTICULAR TESTING INVOLVED. THE
 SPECIAL INSPECTIONS AND TESTS REQUIRED BY THIS SECTION
 SHALL BE CONDUCTED UNDER THE SAME TERMS AS FOUND IN
 SECTION 909.18 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 513.4 ANALYSIS.
 A RATIONAL ANALYSIS SUPPORTING THE TYPES OF SMOKE
 CONTROL SYSTEMS TO BE EMPLOYED, THEIR METHODS OF
 OPERATION, THE SYSTEMS SUPPORTING THEM AND THE METHODS
 OF CONSTRUCTION TO BE UTILIZED SHALL ACCOMPANY THE
 SUBMITTED CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND SHALL INCLUDE, BUT
 NOT BE LIMITED TO, THE ITEMS INDICATED IN SECTIONS
 513.4.1 THROUGH 513.4.6.
 513.4.1 STACK EFFECT.
 THE SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED SUCH THAT THE MAXIMUM
 PROBABLE NORMAL OR REVERSE STACK EFFECTS WILL NOT
 ADVERSELY INTERFERE WITH THE SYSTEM?S CAPABILITIES. IN
 DETERMINING THE MAXIMUM PROBABLE STACK EFFECTS,
 ALTITUDE, ELEVATION, WEATHER HISTORY AND INTERIOR
 TEMPERATURES SHALL BE USED.
 513.4.2 TEMPERATURE EFFECT OF FIRE.
 BUOYANCY AND EXPANSION CAUSED BY THE DESIGN FIRE IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 513.9 SHALL BE ANALYZED. THE
 SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED SUCH THAT THESE EFFECTS DO NOT
 ADVERSELY INTERFERE WITH ITS CAPABILITIES.
 513.4.3 WIND EFFECT.
 THE DESIGN SHALL CONSIDER THE ADVERSE EFFECTS OF WIND.
 SUCH CONSIDERATION SHALL BE CONSISTENT WITH THE
 WIND-LOADING PROVISIONS OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 BUILDING.
 513.4.4 HVAC SYSTEMS.
 THE DESIGN SHALL CONSIDER THE EFFECTS OF THE HEATING,
 VENTILATING AND AIR-CONDITIONING (HVAC) SYSTEMS ON BOTH
 SMOKE AND FIRE TRANSPORT. THE ANALYSIS SHALL INCLUDE
 ALL PERMUTATIONS OF SYSTEMS? STATUS. THE DESIGN SHALL
 CONSIDER THE EFFECTS OF FIRE ON THE HVAC SYSTEMS.
 513.4.5 CLIMATE.
 THE DESIGN SHALL CONSIDER THE EFFECTS OF LOW
 TEMPERATURES ON SYSTEMS, PROPERTY AND OCCUPANTS. AIR
 INLETS AND EXHAUSTS SHALL BE LOCATED SO AS TO PREVENT
 SNOW OR ICE BLOCKAGE.
 513.4.6 DURATION OF OPERATION.
 ALL PORTIONS OF ACTIVE OR PASSIVE SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS
 SHALL BE CAPABLE OF CONTINUED OPERATION AFTER DETECTION
 OF THE FIRE EVENT FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN EITHER
 20 MINUTES OR 1.5 TIMES THE CALCULATED EGRESS TIME,
 WHICHEVER IS LESS.
  
 9A) THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SHALL PROVIDE EVIDENCE AND
 DOCUMENTATION VERIFYING COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 513.6.1
 MINIMUM PRESSURE DIFFERENCE ACROSS SMOKE BARRIERS, AND
 513.6.2 MAXIMUM PRESSURE DIFFERENCE ACROSS A SMOKE
 BARRIER BY REQUIRED DOOR-OPENING OR CLOSING FORCES.
  
 9B) THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SHALL REVIEW AND APPROVE
 ALL EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS OF THE SMOKE CONTROL
 SYSTEM INCLUDING FANS, DUCTS, AUTOMATIC FIRE AND SMOKE
 DAMPERS AND BALANCING DAMPERS PER SECTION 513.10 FBC-10
 MECHANICAL INCLUSIVE OF ALL SUB-SECTIONS.
  
 9C) THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SHALL PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF
 COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 513.11 FOR TWO SOURCES OF POWER
 FOR THE SYSTEM INCLUDING A SECONDARY MEANS BY AN
 APPROVED STANDBY SOURCE, AND MAXIMUM AUTO TRANSFER TIME
 OF 60 SECONDS TO FULL STANDBY POWER FROM PRIMARY
 FAILURE TIME.
  
 10) PROVIDE EQUIPMENT SCHEDULES FOR THE FIRE AND
 FIRE/SMOKE DAMPERS INCLUDING MAKES AND MODELS, UL
 LISTINGS, FIRE-RESISTANCE HOURLY RATINGS, AND LIST
 THEIR PROPOSED INSTALLATION LOCATIONS IN THE BUILDING,
 AND HOW THEY WILL BE ACTUATE- BY FUSIBLE LINK OR
 CONNECTION TO THE SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM ETC.
  
 11) PROVIDE TYPICAL INSTALLATION DETAILS FOR THE
 DAMPERS INCLUDING ACCESS PANEL LOCATIONS.
  
 12) PROVIDE UL TESTED AND APPROVED THROUGH-PENETRATION
 FIRE STOPPING ASSEMBLIES FOR THE REFRIGERANT PIPING,
 AND AC DUCTS PENETRATING THE VARIOUS RATED WALLS AND
 FLOOR CEILING ASSEMBLIES.
  
 13) SHEET M2-1.1: THE OUTSIDE AIR (O/A) INTAKE INLET
 FOR AC-F IN THE GROUND FLOOR GARAGE/STORAGE WALL IS
 WITHIN THE 10 FT. ALLOWABLE HORIZONTAL DISTANCE TO THE
 DRIVE AREA: PLEASE CORRECT PER SECTION 401.4 FBC-10
 MECH.
  
 14) M2.1.1- M2.6.1: GROUND FLOOR TO 6TH FLOOR GARAGES:
 PROVIDE A SEQUENCE OF OPERATION DIAGRAM FOR THE CO
 ACTUATED EXHAUST SYSTEMS. PROVIDE INSTALLATION DETAILS
 FOR THE SENSORS INCLUDING MOUNTING HEIGHT AFF, AND
 MAXIMUM SPACING. SUBMIT MANUFACTURER?S PRODUCT DATA
 SHEETS REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
 OF RECORD- SEE SECTIONS 404.1 AND 404.2 FBC-10 MECH.
 PLEASE NOTE THAT CONTINUOUS VENTILATION IS REQUIRED
 UNLESS THE FANS WILL OPERATE AUTOMATICALLY UPON
 DETECTION OF A CONCENTRATION OF CARBON MONOXIDE OF 25
 PARTS PER MILLION.
  
 15) M2.1.1- M2.6.1- POSITIVE PRESSURE AND MINIMUM O/A
 VENTILATION MUST BE MAINTAINED FOR THE VARIOUS ELEVATOR
 LOBBIES, VESTIBULES, ETC. THAT ARE CONNECTING AT THE
 CENTER OF THE PARKING GARAGES PER SECTION 404.3. HOW
 WILL THIS BE ACCOMPLISHED? THE CURRENT PLAN DOES NOT
 INDICATE ANY O/A DUCTS BRINGING FRESH AIR INTO THESE
 SPACES.
  
 16) M2.1.1: DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS ARE REQUIRED IN THE
 SUPPLY AND RETURN AIR SYSTEMS OF AC-D & AC-E (FITNESS
 CENTER)- SECTION 606.2.2. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH
 AREA SMOKE DETECTORS ARE SHOWN IN THE CENTER ON
 FA2.1.1, THERE ARE NO NOTES ON FA1.00 PERTAINING TO FAN
 SHUT DOWN OF THE UNITS.
  
 17) M2.1.1: RETURN AIR TRANSFERS FROM THE CONFERENCE

 THE 6"X4" DUCT PENETRATING THE RATED CORRIDOR, PROVIDE
 EVIDENCE THAT THE MATERIAL USED TO FILL THE ANNULAR
 SPACE AROUND THE DUCT PENETRATION MEETS THE ASTM E 119
 OR UL 263 FOR PREVENTION OF PASSAGE OF FLAME AND HOT
 GASES PER SECTION 713.3.1 FBC-10 BUILDING.
  
 20) M2.6.1: A) CLARIFY IF THE COMBUSTION AIR
 CALCULATIONS INCLUDE BOTH THE SPA AND POOL HEATERS, AND
 SUBMIT MANUFACTURER?S SPECIFICATIONS FOR EACH UNIT, THE
 INDUCTION FAN, AND VENT PIPING. B) PROVIDE ENLARGED
 FRONT AND PLAN VIEW DRAWINGS OF THE EQUIPMENT ROOM
 INDICATING CLEARANCE DISTANCES AROUND THE EQUIPMENT AND
 ASSOCIATED POOL AND GAS PIPING, CONTROLS ETC. FOR
 SERVICE ACCESS. C) PROVIDE A VENTING DIAGRAM PER
 MANUFACTURER?S RECOMMENDATIONS. THE DIAGRAM SHALL
 INDICATE THE TYPE AND SIZE OF VENT PIPING, LENGTH OF
 CONNECTORS, HEIGHT OF THE RISER, TOTAL RISE AND RUN OF
 THE FLUE, AND METHOD OF HANGING AND SUPPORT OF THE
