 INSTALLATION SCHEDULE TIPS - READ THE FOLLOWING ONLY IF
 YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THIS FORM AND NEED ASSISTANCE:
  
 THE FOLLOWING IS A GUIDE TO ASSIST WITH COMPLETION OF
 THE COLUMNS IN THE INSTALLATION SCHEDULE MOST OFTEN
 FAILED IN PLAN REVIEW. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE
 CONTRACTOR CIRCLE THE PERTINENT INFORMATION IN THE
 PRODUCT APPROVAL. IF PROPOSED INSTALLATION IS CLEAR, AN
 EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO REDLINE THE INSTALLATION
 SCHEDULE IF NECESSARY.
  
 SHUTTER CONNECTION MOUNTING TYPE: THIS IS NOT THE
 FASTENER PROPOSED. THE INFORMATION IN THIS COLUMN
 SHOULD CORRELATE WITH THE ANCHOR CHARTS. MOST PRODUCT
 APPROVALS HAVE ANCHOR CHARTS WHICH SPECIFY THE ANCHOR
 SPACING. FIRST, LOCATE THE ANCHOR CHARTS IN THE PRODUCT
 APPROVAL. NOTE THE NAMING CONVENTION. THE MOST COMMON
 NAMING CONVENTIONS ARE THE FOLLOWING:
  
 C1, C2, C3, C4, C5
 1 (TOP), 1 (BOTTOM); 2 (TOP), 2 (BOTTOM), ETC.
  
 WITH THE NAMING CONVENTION IN MIND, LOCATE THE
 INSTALLATION MOUNTING DETAILS IN THE PRODUCT APPROVAL.
 DETERMINE WHICH INSTALLATION METHOD YOU PROPOSE. THE
 SHUTTER CONNECTION MOUNTING TYPE WILL BE INDICATED
 WITHIN THE DETAIL.
  
 SHUTTER SPAN: FOR ACCORDION SHUTTERS, THIS DIMENSION IS
 THE BLADE LENGTH. FOR PANELS AND MOST OTHER TYPES OF
 IMPACT PROTECTION, THIS IS THE DIMENSION FROM ANCHOR TO
 ANCHOR.
  
 SHUTTER INSTALLED VERTICAL/HORIZONTAL: ACCORDIONS ARE
 INSTALLED VERTICALLY; PANELS CAN BE INSTALLED EITHER
 VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY. THIS COLUMN CORRELATES WITH
 THE CONFIGURATION OF THE ANCHORS (ANCHORS AT TOP AND
 BOTTOM = VERTICAL, ANCHORS AT SIDES OF OPENING =
 HORIZONTAL).
  
 SUBSTRATE: FOR MOST VERTICAL INSTALLATIONS, CBS
 STRUCTURE, THE TOP IS USUALLY CONCRETE, BOTTOM IS
 USUALLY BLOCK (MASONRY) UNLESS THE PRODUCT APPROVAL
 INCLUDES A CHART FOR GROUT FILLED BLOCK. FOR HORIZONTAL
 INSTALLATIONS, UNLESS THE STRUCTURE HAS CONCRETE WALLS
 RATHER THAN CBS, THE SUBSTRATE IS MASONRY OR GROUT
 FILLED BLOCK (IF THAT SUBSTRATE IS INCLUDED IN THE
 PRODUCT APPROVAL). ONLY A FORMED AND POURED CONCRETE
 SUBSTRATE IS CONSIDERED CONCRETE FOR THIS PURPOSE.
  
 ANCHOR SPACING: THIS IS DETERMINED BY LOCATING THE
 PROPOSED DESIGN PRESSURE, SHUTTER CONNECTION MOUNTING
 TYPE, SUBSTRATE AND ANCHOR TYPE IN THE PRODUCT APPROVAL
 ANCHOR CHARTS. THE MOST COMMON ERROR IS THE USE OF THE
 CONCRETE CHART. IN SOME PRODUCT APPROVALS, SOME
 MOUNTING TYPES ARE LIMITED TO CONCRETE AND WOOD
 SUBSTRATES ONLY. READ THE INFORMATION AT THE TOP OF THE
 CHART CAREFULLY.
  
 WHY IS THIS REQUIRED?
  
 THIS FORM (OR ALL OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE
 FORM PROVIDED IN ANOTHER FORMAT) IS USED IN PLAN REVIEW
 TO DETERMINE THAT THE PROPOSED INSTALLATION IS
 CONSISTENT WITH THE REQUIREMENTS IN THE PRODUCT
 APPROVAL. IN THE FIELD, IT ASSISTS THE INSPECTOR TO
 PERFORM THE INSPECTION QUICKLY AND ACCURATELY.
