 1) SHEET A-001. THIS COMMENT IS A RESULT OF THE
 PLUMBING PLANS REVIEWER BRINGING TO MY ATTENTION THAT
 THE EXIT ENCLOSURES STAIR # 1 & 3 SHOWING THE STAIRS
 WITH THE ROOF DRAIN AND RISER WITHIN THE EXIT
 ENCLOSURE. MONTHS AGO THE PLUMBING ENGINEER SPOKE WITH
 ME ON THIS ISSUE THAT THE STARWAYS BEING ON THE
 EXTERIOR CORNERS OR EXTERIOR WALL OF THE BUILDING DID
 NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE WALL RATED AND INFACT COULD BE
 OPEN. IN THAT REASONING WHY THE ROOF DRAIN WAS ALLOWED.
 THE ARCHITECT OF RECORD STILL SHOWS THE EXIT ENCLOSURES
 AS 1 HOUR FIRE RATED AND THE ONLY MATERIALS ALLOWED ARE
 MATERIALS THAT ARE REQUIRED BY 2010 FBC-B 1022.4
 PENETRATIONS.
 PENETRATIONS INTO AND OPENINGS THROUGH AN EXIT
 ENCLOSURE ARE PROHIBITED EXCEPT FOR REQUIRED EXIT
 DOORS, EQUIPMENT AND DUCTWORK NECESSARY FOR INDEPENDENT
 VENTILATION OR PRESSURIZATION, SPRINKLER PIPING,
 STANDPIPES, ELECTRICAL RACEWAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
 COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND ELECTRICAL RACEWAY SERVING
 THE EXIT ENCLOSURE AND TERMINATING AT A STEEL BOX NOT
 EXCEEDING 16 SQUARE INCHES (0.010 M2). SUCH
 PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 713. THERE SHALL BE NO PENETRATIONS OR
 COMMUNICATION OPENINGS, WHETHER PROTECTED OR NOT,
 BETWEEN ADJACENT EXIT ENCLOSURES.
