 SUBMIT REVISED CIVIL PLANS BASED UPON TELEPHONE
 CONVERSATIONS (LOOP FIRE MAINS, RELOCATE FIRE HYDRANTS,
 MARK FIRE LANE WITH SIGNAGE).
  
 SHEET LS1.0 & A1.0: THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN SHOWS THE
 CROSS CORRIDOR FIRE BARRIER AT THE RESIDENTAL DORMS AS
 BEING A 1-HOUR FIRE BARRIER; HOWEVER, THE OVERALL FLOOR
 PLAN DRAWING INDICATES THIS WALL TO BE A 2-HOUR FIRE
 BARRIER AND POSSIBLY INTENDED TO BE A HORIZONTAL EXIT.
 IF THIS IS TO BE A HORIZONTAL EXIT THEN PER SECTION
 7.2.4.3.4:
 WHERE FIRE BARRIERS SERVING HORIZONTAL EXITS, TERMINATE
 AT OUTSIDE WALLS, AND THE OUTSIDE WALLS ARE AT AN ANGLE
 OF LESS THAN 180 DEGREES FOR A DISTANCE OF 10 FEET ON
 EACH SIDE OF THE HORIZONTAL EXIT, THE OUTSIDE WALLS
 SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM 1-HOUR FIRE RESISTANCE RATING,
 WITH OPENING PROTECTIVES HAVING A MINIMUM 3/4-HOUR FIRE
 PROTECTION RATING, FOR A DISTANCE OF 10 FEET ON EACH
 SIDE OF THE HORIZONTAL EXIT. IF A HORIZONTAL IS NOT
 INTENDED TO BE USED, THEN THE FOLLOWING APPLIES:
 RESPONSE COMMENT - FIRE RATED CORRIDORS #308 & #412
 HAVE A SECONDARY EXIT THAT DOES NOT LEAD DIRECTLY TO AN
 EXIT AND REQUIRES OCCUPANTS TO LEAVE THE PROTECTED
 CORRIDOR TO SEEK A SECONDARY EXIT. OCCUPANTS TRAVEL
 PASSED A NON-RATED GUEST LAUNDRY (#154), JANITOR CLOSET
 (#153) DINING (#157) AND EVEN AN ADJACENT NON-RATED
 CORRIDOR (#144). PER SECTION7.5.1.2, CORRIDORS SHALL
 PROVIDE EXIT ACCESS WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH ANY
 INTERVENING ROOMS OTHER THAN CORRIDORS, LOBBIES, AND
 OTHER SPACES PERMITTED TO BE OPEN TO THE CORRIDOR.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT - SHEET LS1.0: EXIT ACCESS CORRIDORS
 IN THE DORM AREA LEAD DIRECTLY TO ONLY 1 EXIT. PER
 7.5.1.1.1 FIRE RATED EXIT ACCESS CORRIDORS SHALL
 PROVIDE ACCESS TO TWO EXITS BY SEPARATE WAYS OF TRAVEL.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT - KITCHEN #111 IS OPEN TO EXIT ACCESS
 CORRIDOR #200. THIS IS AN EXISTING FIRE CODE VIOLATION
 THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF
 THE CORRIDOR. PER SECTION 29.3.6.1.3 (EXISTING
 DORMITORIES- CORRIDORS) BUILDINGS PROTECTED THROUGHOUT
 BY AN APPROVED AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM, NO FIRE
 RESISTANCE RATING SHALL BE REQUIRED, BUT THE WALLS AND
 ALL OPENINGS THEREIN SHALL RESIST THE PASSAGE OF SMOKE.
 DOORS THAT OPEN ONTO EXIT ACCESS CORRIDORS SHALL BE
 SELF-CLOSING AND SELF-LATCHING.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT - SHEET A1.0: EXISTING KITCHEN #111 IS
 OPEN TO EXISTING FIRE RATED EXIT ACCESS CORRIDOR #200
 AND NEW CORRIDOR #129.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT - VERIFY ALL DOOR FIRE PROTECTION
 RATINGS AND HARDWARE. DOOR SCHEDULE DOES NOT APPEAR TO
 BE UPDATED. FOR EXAMPLE DOOR #157 DOES NOT INDICATE
 PANIC HARDWARE. DOOR #308A AND #412A DO NOT INDICATE A
 FIRE EXIT HARDWARE OR A DOOR RATING OF 90-MINUTES IF
 LOCATED IN A 2-HOUR FIRE BARRIER. DOOR #147 AND #159 DO
 NOT HAVE A FIRE RATING.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT - SHEET A-6.0: FOR NEW AND EXISTING
 ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES WITH AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF 100 OR
 MORE PERSONS (50 PERSONS PER THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE), PANIC HARDWARE SHALL BE PROVIDED ON DOORS TO
 RELEASE THE LOCK/LATCH. NO OTHER LOCKS OR LATCHES ARE
 PERMITTED THAT WOULD NOT BE RELEASED BY THE PANIC
 HARDWARE. AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR PANIC HARDWARE, THE MAIN
 ENTRANCE IS PERMITTED TO HAVE AN INTERIOR KEYED DOOR
 LOCK (AND NO LATCH) WITH A READILY VISIBLE SIGN STATING
 THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN THE BUILDING IS
 OCCUPIED. SIGN LETTERS SHALL BE AT LEAST 1 INCH IN
 HEIGHT. KEYED LOCK TO BE EQUIPPED WITH AN "OPEN/LOCKED"
 INDICATOR WINDOW (SUCH AS ADAMS RITE 4089 OR SIMILAR).
 A THUMB TURN STYLE LOCK IS NOT PERMITTED TO BE
 SUBSTITUTED FOR A KEYED LOCK. PROVIDE A DOOR SCHEDULE
 FOR THE EXISTING BUILDING AS THESE DOORS MAY REQUIRE
 PANIC/FIRE EXIT HARDWARE DUE TO THE INCREASED BUILDING
 OCCUPANCY.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT - ARE THE EXISTING HORN-STROBE DEVICES
 TO BE CHANGED OUT FOR SPEAKER-STROBE DEVICES?
 ORIGINAL COMMENT - SHEET FA1.1:THIS BUILDING MAY CREATE
 A NON-CONFORMITY WHEREBY ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES WITH AN
 OCCUPANT LOAD EXCEEDING 300 PERSONS REQUIRE A VOICE
 EVACUATION FIRE ALARM SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT - ENGINEERED FIRE SPRINKLER
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR A GENERAL
 BUILDING PERMIT. AFTER THE BUILDING PERMIT HAS BEEN
 ISSUED, THE SUBCONTRACTORS CAN THEN SUBMIT SHOP
 DRAWINGS (CONFORMING TO THE ENGINEERED CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS) FOR A SUB-PERMIT.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT - FIRE PROTECTION: FOR ISSUANCE OF A
 GENERAL BUILDING PERMIT, SECTION 105.3.1.2(2) OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE REQUIRES SEALED FIRE PROTECTION
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OR ALTERATION OF
 50 OR MORE AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLERS. PER FLORIDA
 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 61G15-32.004, FIRE
 PROTECTION ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS SHALL INCLUDE THE
 POINT OF SERVICE FOR THE WATER SUPPLY, A LIST OF
 APPLICABLE NFPA STANDARDS APPLICABLE TO THE PROJECT,
 CLASSIFICATION OF HAZARD OCCUPANCY FOR EACH ROOM OR
 AREA, SUPPRESSION SYSTEM TYPE, DESIGN DENSITIES, WATER
 SUPPLY DATA (FIRE PUMP DATA, HYDRANT FLOW TEST DATA)
 AND ANY PERFORMANCE BASED INFORMATION SUCH AS
 PRE-ENGINEERED SYSTEMS.
  
 ADDITIONAL PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS MAY BE GENERATED WHEN
 PLANS ARE RESUBMITTED.
