 OF RECOGNIZED INSPECTION SERVICES, PROVIDED THAT AFTER
 INVESTIGATION HE/SHE IS SATISFIED AS TO THEIR

 FOR 170 MPH/ 3 SECOND GUST, EXPOSURE C. PRESSURES ARE
 GOOD FOR A 35 FT. MEAN ROOF HEIGHT. SHEET A-4.00
 INDICATES A MEAN ROOF HEIGHT OF 38?-11? AND A EAVE
 HEIGHT OF 34?-8?. BY DEFINITION OF MEAN ROOF HEIGHT WE
 USE THE EAVE HEIGHT WHEN THE ROOF ANGLE OF LESS THAN OR
 EQUAL TO 10 DEGRESS (ACTUAL DEGREES OF 9.74). THE MEAN
 ROOF HEIGHT OF 34?-8? SHOULD BE USED. THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD IS DEFERRING THE COMPONENTS AND CLADDING
 PRESSURES TO THE NUCOR METAL BUILDING ENGINEER .
  
 THE NUCOR BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO VULT TO 180 MPH,
 EXPOSURE C AND A MEAN ROOF HEIGHT OF 30 FT. (FROM
 FLOOR) NOT THE 35 FT. (34?-8?) TAKEN FROM GRADE. THERE
 IS A DIFFERENCE IN WIND SPEED DESIGN AND MEAN ROOF
 HEIGHT. WITH THE MORE STRIKER WIND DESIGN THE
 COMPONENTS AND CLADDING UNDER THE 170 WILL FAIL
 ALLOWING THE BUILDING TO EITHER IMPLODE OR EXPLODE
 DEPENDING ON THE WIND DIRECTION AND SIZE OF THE BREACH,
 THE BUILDING WAS NOT DESIGNED AS A PARTIALLY OPEN
 BUILDING. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE DESIGNER OF RECORD FOR
 THE BUILDING, WHEN THE ENGINEERING IS DEFERRED THE TWO
 ENGINEERS NEED TO COME TO A CONCLUSION AS TO WHICH
 DESIGN THE BUILDING IS TO BE BUILT.
  
 COMMENTS FROM 1ST REVIEW. SHEET S-3.0 INDICATES DESIGN
 CRITERIA FOR THE METAL STRUCTURAL PORTION OF THIS
 BUILDING, UNDER THE 1ST REVIEW THERE WAS NO DOCUMENTS
 SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW. NOTE THERE IS NO MENTION TO THE
 COMPONENTS AND CLADDING THAT DEALS WITH THE METAL SKIN
 AS TO THEIR DESIGN CRITERIA? WILL THE WHOLE BUILDING BE
 DESIGNED UNDER ASCE 7-10 OR WILL THERE BE OTHER DESIGN
 CRITERIA FOR THE METAL FRAMING AND CLADDING OF THE
 BUILDING. THE PLANS ARE INCOMPLETE; THERE ARE ALSO NO
 MEZZANINE DETAILS, SHEET S-2.0 FOR BOTH THE FOUNDATION
 AND MEZZANINE BOTH REFER TO THE METAL BUILDING
 MANUFACTURER FOR THE ANCHOR BOLT LAYOUT.
  
  
 7) 2ND REQUEST. THE DESIGNER OF RECORD IS DEFERRING THE
 ROOF PRESSURES AND WALL PANEL PRESSURES TO THE NUCOR
 BUILDING ENGINEER. NUCOR PLANS DOES NOT PROVIDE
 COMPONENT & CLADDING PRESSURES FOR ROOF ZONES NOR WALL
 ZONES. THERE STRUCTURAL CALCULATION SHEET A2 DOES SHOW
 VULT PRESSURES ( ASSUMED, CALCULATIONS DOES NOT STATE
 VULT OR VASD ) FOR ZONES 1, 2, & 3, SHEET A4 WALL
 PRESSURES FOR ZONES 4 & 5 AGAIN PRESSURES DO NOT STATE
 IF THEY ARE VULT OR VASD. NOTES ON BOTH SHEETS INDICATE
 AISI 2007 SPECIFICATIONS. IF THE NUCOR DESIGNERS ARE
 GOING FOR THE DOUBLE REDUCTION IN ALLOWABLE PRESSURES,
 THEY WILL NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH AISI 100-2007
 D6.2.1A(A-G). INDICATE IF PRESSURES ARE VULT OR VASD
 AND IF THE REDUCTIONS ALLOWED BY AISI 100-2007 WERE
 TAKEN.
  
 WITHIN THE NUCOR PLANS SUBMITTED THERE ARE NO SECTIONS
 CIRCLED SHOWING WHICH APPLICATIONS WILL BE APPLICABLE
 TO THIS JOB.
  
 NOTE THE NUCOR PLANS C1OF 1 LIST VARIOUS FLORIDA STATE
 APPROVALS NONE HAVE BEEN CIRCLED. THERE ALSO WERE NO
 PRODUCT APPROVALS SUBMITTED FOR EITHER THE WALL PANELS
 OR ROOF PANELS.
  
 PLEASE ALSO SEE THE DESIGNER OF RECORDS COMMENTS AS TO
 THE DEFICIENCIES FOUND IN THE NUCOR BUILDING SYSTEM

 COMMENT 1ST REVIEW. SHEET S-3.0 MISSING THE ROOF
 PRESSURES FOR THE COMPONENTS AND CLADDING. PROVIDE THE
 MEAN ROOF HEIGHT THE PRESSURES WILL BE TAKEN AT. ALSO
 TAKE THE PRESSURES UNDER COMPONENTS AND CLADDING FOR 10
 SQ FT. 107.2.1.2 FOR ROOF ASSEMBLIES REQUIRED BY THE
 CODE, THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL
 ILLUSTRATE, DESCRIBE AND DELINEATE THE TYPE OF ROOFING
 SYSTEM, MATERIALS, FASTENING REQUIREMENTS, FLASHING
 REQUIREMENTS AND WIND RESISTANCE RATING THAT ARE
 REQUIRED TO BE INSTALLED. PRODUCT EVALUATION AND
 INSTALLATION SHALL INDICATE COMPLIANCE WITH THE WIND
 CRITERIA REQUIRED FOR THE SPECIFIC SITE OR A STATEMENT
 BY AN ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER FOR THE SPECIFIC SITE MUST
 BE SUBMITTED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
