 DENIED BY BUILDING
 PLEASE ADDRESS THE ITEMS NOTED BELOW:
  
 1) THE SCOPE OF WORK FOR THIS PROJECT IS A SUBSTANTIAL
 IMPROVEMENT BASED ON FEMA AND CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
 FLOOD ORDINANCE REQUIREMENTS. THE STRUCTURE IS LOCATED
 IN A SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA, SPECIFICALLY AN A5
 FLOOD ZONE WITH A 7' ELEVATION. THE CITY OF WEST PALM
 BEACH'S FLOOD ORDINANCE REQUIRES A 6 INCH "FREEBOARD".
 THEREFORE THE REQUIRED MINIMUM FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION
 IS 7.5' BFE (NGVD 29). ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT, THE
 EXISTING, THE NEW AND THE FINISHED FLOOR OF THE
 ATTACHED GARAGE IS REQUIRED TO BE AT OR ABOVE 7.5' BFE.
 SPECIFY COMPLIANT ELEVATIONS ON THE PLANS. A
 PRE-CONSTRUCTION ELEVATION CERTIFICATE BASED ON THE
 CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS IS REQUIRED. FBC R322
 -THE ELEVATION CERTIFICATE THAT WAS SUBMITTED FOR THE
 EXISTING STRUCTURE CONTAINS ERRORS.
 -THE PLAT NUMBER SHOULD BE 3.
 -THE LONGITUDE SHOULD HAVE A MINUS SIGN IN FRONT OF IT.
 -THE DECIMAL NUMBER COORDINATES THAT ARE LISTED ON THE
 CERTIFICATE ARE INCORRECT.
 -THE ELEVATIONS SPECIFIED ON SHEET S1.0 ARE NOT IN
 COMPLIANCE WITH THE CITY'S FLOOD ORDINANCE AND
 FBC-R322.1.
 -A PRE-CONSTRUCTION ELEVATION THAT IS BASED ON THE
 PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION WHICH IS REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH
 THE CITY'S FLOOD ORDINANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED.
  
 2) THE STRUCTURE IS LOCATED WITHIN 600 FEET OF THE
 INTER-COASTAL WATER WAY AND THEREFORE IT IS IN EXPOSURE
 CATEGORY D. PLEASE REVISE THE PLANS AND THE COMPONENT &
 CLADDING PRESSURES. FBC R301.2.1.4.3
 -THE EXPOSURE CATEGORY WAS CHANGED TO "D" ON THE PLANS,
 HOWEVER, THE COMPONENT AND CLADDING PRESSURES FOR THE
 WINDOWS AND EXTERIOR DOORS WERE NOT INCREASED
 ACCORDINGLY. FBC-R301.2.1 NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO REVIEW
 THE MAXIMUM DESIGN PRESSURES LISTED IN THE PRODUCT
 APPROVALS FOR THE WINDOWS, DOORS AND OTHER COMPONENTS
 AND CLADDING PRODUCTS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE ADEQUATE.
  
 3) THE ENERGY CALCULATIONS LIST A 50 GALLON WATER
 HEATER AND A 120 GALLON WATER HEATER IS SPECIFIED ON
 THE PLANS. PLEASE CORRECT. FBC 107.2.1
 -SEE PLAN SHEETS A1.0 AND M1.0
  
 4) R401.4 SOIL TESTS. WHERE QUANTIFIABLE DATA CREATED
 BY ACCEPTED SOIL SCIENCE METHODOLOGIES INDICATE
 EXPANSIVE, COMPRESSIBLE, SHIFTING OR OTHER QUESTIONABLE
 SOIL CHARACTERISTICS ARE LIKELY TO BE PRESENT, THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL SHALL DETERMINE WHETHER TO REQUIRE A
 SOIL TEST TO DETERMINE THE SOIL'S CHARACTERISTICS AT A
 PARTICULAR LOCATION. THIS TEST SHALL BE DONE BY AN
 APPROVED AGENCY USING AN APPROVED METHOD. STRUCTURE IS
 LOCATED IN AN AREA OF QUESTIONABLE SOIL. SUBMIT A
 SIGNED AND SEALED SUBSURFACE SOIL REPORT.
 -THE ADDRESS ON THE SOIL REPORT HAS 8011 ARLINGTON ROAD
 AND THE PROJECT IS LOCATED AT 8011 ARLINGTON PLACE.
 -THE SOIL REPORT THAT WAS SUBMITTED IS INCOMPLETE.
 FBC 1803.6 REPORTING.
 WHERE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS ARE REQUIRED, A
 WRITTEN REPORT OF THE INVESTIGATIONS SHALL BE SUBMITTED
 TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL BY THE OWNER OR AUTHORIZED
 AGENT AT THE TIME OF PERMIT APPLICATION. THIS
 GEOTECHNICAL REPORT SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NEED NOT BE
 LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
 1. A PLOT SHOWING THE LOCATION OF THE SOIL
 INVESTIGATIONS.
 2. A COMPLETE RECORD OF THE SOIL BORING AND PENETRATION
 TEST LOGS AND SOIL SAMPLES.
 3. A RECORD OF THE SOIL PROFILE.
 4. ELEVATION OF THE WATER TABLE, IF ENCOUNTERED.
 5. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FOUNDATION TYPE AND DESIGN
 CRITERIA, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: BEARING
 CAPACITY OF NATURAL OR COMPACTED SOIL; PROVISIONS TO
 MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF EXPANSIVE SOILS; MITIGATION OF
 THE EFFECTS OF LIQUEFACTION, DIFFERENTIAL SETTLEMENT
 AND VARYING SOIL STRENGTH; AND THE EFFECTS OF ADJACENT
 LOADS.
 6. EXPECTED TOTAL AND DIFFERENTIAL SETTLEMENT.
 7. DEEP FOUNDATION INFORMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 1803.5.5.
 8. SPECIAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROVISIONS FOR
 FOUNDATIONS OF STRUCTURES FOUNDED ON EXPANSIVE SOILS,
 AS NECESSARY.
 9. COMPACTED FILL MATERIAL PROPERTIES AND TESTING IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1803.5.8.
 10. CONTROLLED LOW-STRENGTH MATERIAL PROPERTIES AND
 TESTING IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1803.5.9.
  
 5) THE DOOR SCHEDULE SPECIFIES A FIBERGLASS DOOR, AN
 ARCHED TOP WOOD DOOR AND DOUBLE METAL FRENCH DOORS WITH
 GLAZING. THERE WERE NOT ANY PRODUCT APPROVALS SUBMITTED
 FOR THESE ITEMS AS REQUIRED BY DCA RULE 9N-3 AND FBC
 107.3.4.1
  
 6) THE PRODUCT APPROVAL THAT WAS SUBMITTED FOR THE
 STRUCTURAL MULLIONS IS LIMITED TO A MULLION LENGTH OF
 72". THIS IS TOO SHORT FOR THE TWO 36" X 96" FIXED
 WINDOWS (E). SUBMIT PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR THE MULLIONS
 THAT WILL BE USED ON THESE WINDOWS. DCA RULE 9N-3 AND
 FBC 107.3.4.1
  
 IN ORDER TO REDUCE PLAN REVIEW TIMES AND PROVIDE
 CLARIFICATION, PLEASE SUBMIT A RESPONSE LETTER
 INDICATING HOW EACH OF THE REVIEW COMMENTS HAS BEEN
