2014-03-03 13:56:10THIS PERMIT IS FOR LIMITED EXPLORATORY DEMOLITION ONLY
 AS STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF WORK ON THE
 APPLICATION. THE SCOPE OF WORK FOR THIS PERMIT IS
 LIMITED DEMOLITION TO DETERMINE THE EXISTING STRUCTURAL
 CONNECTIONS. A SEPARATE APPLICATION, PERMIT AND REVIEWS
 WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW THE CONVERSION OF THE GARAGE
 TO AN APARTMENT OR ACCESSORY STRUCTURE.
  
 NOTE:
  
 ACCORDING TO CITY RECORDS, THIS STRUCTURE WAS
 ORIGINALLY CONSTRUCTED AS A DETACHED GARAGE. IT WAS
 CONVERTED TO AN APARTMENT WITH A KITCHEN, BEDROOM AND
 BATHROOM WITHOUT THE REQUIRED PERMITS OR INSPECTIONS.
 UNDER THE 2010 FBC EXISTING BUILDING THIS IS CONSIDERED
 A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY. IN ORDER FOR THIS STRUCTURE-TO
 BE BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE, IT WILL BE REQUIRED TO
 COMPLY WITH THE 2010 FBC EXISTING BUILDING FOR A CHANGE
 OF OCCUPANCY FROM A UTILITY TO AN R-3 OCCUPANCY. THIS
 CHANGE IS FROM A LOWER HAZARD CATEGORY TO A HIGHER ONE.
 THEREFORE, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL NEED TO BE BROUGHT
 INTO COMPLIANCE. THE STRUCTURE WILL BE REQUIRED TO
 COMPLY WITH THE 2010 FBCR WINDLOAD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
 BUILDING ENVELOPE ( IN ADDITION TO GRAVITY LOADS),
 PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR EXTERIOR DOORS AND WINDOWS,
 EGRESS REQUIREMENTS, LIGHT AND VENTILATION, SMOKE AND
 CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS, FIRE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS
 (SEPARATION DISTANCE AND ALLOWABLE OPENINGS), THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2010 FBC ENERGY CONSERVATION, THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2010 FBCR MECHANICAL, THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2010 FBCR PLUMBING AND THE
 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE
 2008 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. THE PLANS WILL NEED TO
 SHOW HOW THE GARAGE WILL BE CONVERTED TO HABITABLE
 SPACE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2010 FBC AND 2008 NEC.
