 SHEET LS1_01: WE ADVISE FOR THE FIRE PUMP ROOM TO BE
 LOCATED ADJACENT TO FIRE COMMAND ROOM #107 AND
 ACCESSIBLE FROM HIBISCUS STREET.
  
 SHEET LS1_01: THE MEETING ROOMS (#135, #136 & #137)
 INDICATE AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 7 SQ.FT. PER
 PERSON; HOWEVER, THE ACTUAL NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS
 INDICATED AS EXITING THROUGH THE DOORS IS FIGURED USING
 AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON.
 SEVERAL OF THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS DISCHARGE TO THE FENCED
 POOL AREA. WHEN USING THE OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 7
 SQ.FT. PERSON THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 227 PERSONS (17,
 15, 87, 60 AND 48 ) BEING ROUTED TO THE SWINGING GATE
 THAT HAS A CAPACITY OF 194 PERSONS. THIS DOES NOT
 INCLUDE ANY OF THE OCCUPANTS FROM THE POOL AREA EXITING
 THIS ROUTE. EGRESS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WIDE ENOUGH TO
 ACCOMODATE THE WORST CASE CAPACITY.
  
 SHEET LS01_02: UPDATE THE CODE LIST TO REFERENCE THE
 2010 EDITION OF THE FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE WHICH
 CONTAINS THE 2009 EDITION OF BOTH NFPA 1 AND NFPA 101
 WITH FLORIDA AMENDMENTS. MIXED USED DESIGN SHALL
 CONFORM TO CHAPTER 28 (HOTELS) AND CHAPTER 30
 (APARTMENTS).
  
 SHEET LS01_02: PER THE LIFE SAFETY CODE, WHERE GUEST
 ROOMS OR GUEST SUITES HAVE INDIVIDUAL COOKING
 FACILITIES, THE APPROPRIATE OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION IS
 AS AN APARTMENT BUILDING.
  
 SHEET LS01_02: GUEST LAUNDRY #205 - PER NFPA 101 TABLE
 28.3.2.2.2, LAUNDRY ROOMS LARGER THAN 100 SQ.FT. SHALL
 BE SEPARATED FROM ADJACENT AREAS WITH A 1-HOUR FIRE
 RATING AND AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERS.
  
 SHEET C-9: HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS WITH REQUIRED FIRE PUMPS
 SHALL BE SUPPLIED BY CONNECTIONS TO A MINIMUM OF TWO
 WATER MAINS LOCATED IN DIFFERENT STREETS. SEPARATE
 SUPPLY PIPING SHALL BE PROVIDED BETWEEN EACH CONNECTION
 TO THE WATER MAIN AND THE PUMPS. EACH CONNECTION AND
 THE SUPPLY PIPING BETWEEN THE CONNECTION AND THE PUMPS
 SHALL BE SIZED TO SUPPLY THE FLOW AND PRESSURE REQUIRED
 FOR THE PUMPS TO OPERATE. THE EXCEPTION INDICATES TWO
 CONNECTIONS TO THE SAME MAIN SHALL BE PERMITTED
 PROVIDED THE MAIN IS VALVED SUCH THAT AN INTERRUPTION
 CAN BE ISOLATED SO THAT THE WATER SUPPLY WILL CONTINUE
 WITHOUT INTERRUPTION THROUGH AT LEAST ONE OF THE
 CONNECTIONS.
  
 SHEET C-11: HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH
 TWO FIRE DEPARTMENT CONNECTIONS (FDC) REMOTELY LOCATED
 FROM EACHOTHER PER NFPA 14. FDCS SHALL BE LOCATED
 WITHIN 150 FEET OF A FIRE HYDRANT.
  
 GENERAL: PER SECTION 7.2.2.5.4 - STAIRWAY
 IDENTIFICATION: NEW ENCLOSED STAIRS SERVING THREE OR
 MORE STORIES AND EXISTING ENCLOSED STAIRS SERVING FIVE
 OR MORE STORIES SHALL COMPLY WITH (A) THROUGH (L).
 (A) THE STAIRS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH SPECIAL SIGNAGE
 WITHIN THE ENCLOSURE AT EACH FLOOR LANDING.
 (B) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE FLOOR LEVEL.
 (C) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE TERMINUS OF THE TOP
 AND BOTTOM OF THE STAIR ENCLOSURE.
 (D) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE IDENTIFICATION OF
 THE STAIR ENCLOSURE.
 (E) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE FLOOR LEVEL OF, AND
 THE DIRECTION TO, EXIT DISCHARGE.
 (F) THE SIGNAGE SHALL BE LOCATED INSIDE THE ENCLOSURE
 APPROXIMATELY 60-INCHES ABOVE THE FLOOR LANDING IN A
 POSITION THAT IS VISIBLE WHEN THE DOOR IS IN THE OPEN
 OR CLOSED POSITION.
 (G) THE FLOOR LEVEL DESIGNATION SHALL ALSO BE TACTILE.
 (H) THE SIGNAGE SHALL BE PAINTED OR STENCILED ON THE
 WALL OR ON A SEPARATE SIGN SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE
 WALL.
 (I) THE STAIRWAY IDENTIFICATION LETTER SHALL BE LOCATED
 AT THE TOP OF THE SIGN IN MINIMUM 1-INCH HIGH
 LETTERING.
 (J) SIGNAGE THAT READS "NO ROOF ACCESS" AND IS LOCATED
 UNDER THE STAIRWAY IDENTIFICATION LETTER SHALL
 DESIGNATE STAIRWAYS THAT DO NOT PROVIDE ROOF ACCESS.
 LETTERING SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1-INCH HIGH.
 (K) THE FLOOR LEVEL NUMBER SHALL BE LOCATED IN THE
 MIDDLE OF THE SIGN IN MINIMUM 5-INCH HIGH NUMBERS.
 MEZZANINE LEVELS SHALL HAVE THE LETTER "M" OR OTHER
 APPROPRIATE IDENTIFICATION LETTER PRECEDING THE FLOOR
 NUMBER, WHILE BASEMENT LEVELS SHALL HAVE THE LETTER "B"
 OR OTHER APPROPRIATE IDENTIFICATION LETTER PRECEDING
 THE FLOOR LEVEL NUMBER.
 (L) IDENTIFICATION OF THE LOWER AND UPPER TERMINUS OF
 THE STAIRWAY SHALL BE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SIGN
 IN MINIMUM 1-INCH HIGH LETTERS OR NUMBERS.
  
 SHEET A1_12: DOOR SCHEDULE INDICATES UNSPECIFIED
 HARDWARE GROUP 24 AND GROUP 27 FOR ENTRY LOBBY DOORS
 #100A AND #100B. IS PANIC HARDWARE INTENDED FOR THESE
 DOORS?
  
 RESIDENTIAL UNIT DOORS: DOORS THAT OPEN ONTO EXIT
 ACCESS CORRIDORS SHALL HAVE NOT LESS THAN A 20-MINUTE
 FIRE PROTECTION RATING AND SHALL BE SELF-CLOSING AND
 SELF-LATCHING PER NFPA 101 SECTION 30.3.6.2.3.
  
 SHEET P2.1: NO FLOOR DRAIN PROVIDED IN FIRE PUMP ROOM.
  
 SHEET E2_15: PLANS DO NOT INDICATE THE METHOD (HEAT
 DETECTOR/FLOW SWITCH WITHOUT TIME DELAY) USED TO SHUNT
 TRIP POWER TO THE ELEVATOR IN THE EVENT AN AUTOMATIC
 SPRINKLER ACTIVATES IN THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM.
  
 SHEET E4_1: PROVIDE A PRE-RECORDED FIRE ALARM
 EVACUATION MESSAGE NOTIFYING OCCUPANTS AN EMERGENCY HAS
 BEEN REPORTED IN THE BUILDING, LOCATE THE NEAREST EXIT,
 AND EXIT THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT USE THE
 ELEVATOR.
  
 SHEET E4_2: NO FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES
 LOCATED IN GUEST LAUNDRY #205.
  
 ELEVATOR: CONFIRM ONE ELEVATOR WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A
 PROTECTED POWER SUPPLY AND SHALL BE AVAILABLE FOR USE
 BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY PER NFPA
 101 SECTION 28.5.3.2. "PROTECTED POWER SUPPLY MEANS A
 SOURCE OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY OF SUFFICIENT CAPACITY TO
 ALLOW PROPER OPERATION OF THEELEVATOR AND ITS
 ASSOCIATED CONTROL AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS. THE
 POWER SUPPLY?S POINT OF ORIGIN, SYSTEM OF DISTRIBUTION,
 TYPE AND SIZE OF OVERCURRENT PROTECTION, DEGREE OF
 ISOLATION FROM OTHER PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING
 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND DEGREE OF MECHANICAL PROTECTION
 SHOULD BE SUCH THAT IT IS UNLIKELY THAT THE SUPPLY
 WOULD BE DISRUPTED AT ANY BUT THE ADVANCED STAGES OF
 BUILDING FIRE INVOLVEMENT OR BY STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE.
 APROTECTED POWER SUPPLY MIGHT CONSIST OF, AND SHOULD
 PROVIDE, NOT LESS THAN THE LEVEL OF RELIABILITY
 ASSOCIATED WITH AN ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WITH
 SERVICE EQUIPMENT LOCATED AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH 230.72(B) AND 230.82(5) OF NFPA 70, NATIONAL
 ELECTRICAL CODE. THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IS NOT TO HAVE
 ANY OTHER CONNECTION TO THE BUILDING ELECTRICAL
 DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. A PROTECTED POWER SUPPLY IS NOT
 REQUIRED TO INCORPORATE TWO SOURCES OF ENERGY OR
 AUTOMATIC TRANSFER CAPABILITY FROM A NORMAL TO AN

 GENERAL: PROVIDE DRAWING NOTE INDICATING ALL
 CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 241. SMOKING SHALL BE PROHIBITED
 EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED EXTERIOR AREAS. ALL OTHER
 DEMOLITION OR CONSTRUCTION AREAS SHALL HAVE "NO
 SMOKING" SIGNS POSTED. WHERE SMOKING IS PERMITTED, SAFE
 RECEPTACLES FOR SMOKING MATERIALS SHALL BE PROVIDED.
  
 FIRE PROTECTION: FOR ISSUANCE OF A GENERAL BUILDING
 PERMIT, SECTION 105.3.1.2(2) OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE REQUIRES SEALED FIRE PROTECTION CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OR ALTERATION OF 50 OR MORE
 AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLERS (AND AUTOMATIC STANDPIPE
 SYSTEM). PER FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION
 61G15-32.004, FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERING DOCUMENTS
 SHALL INCLUDE THE POINT OF SERVICE FOR THE WATER
 SUPPLY, A LIST OF APPLICABLE NFPA STANDARDS APPLICABLE
 TO THE PROJECT, CLASSIFICATION OF HAZARD OCCUPANCY FOR
 EACH ROOM OR AREA, SUPPRESSION SYSTEM TYPE, STANDPIPE
 SYSTEMS, DESIGN DENSITIES, WATER SUPPLY DATA (FIRE PUMP
 DATA, HYDRANT FLOW TEST DATA) AND ANY PERFORMANCE BASED
 INFORMATION SUCH AS PRE-ENGINEERED SYSTEMS.
  
 PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING OPERATING FEATURES (NFPA
 101 SECTION 28.7) ON A DRAWING:
  
 (1) HOTEL EMERGENCY ORGANIZATION.
 (A) EMPLOYEES OF HOTELS SHALL BE INSTRUCTED AND DRILLED
 IN THE DUTIES THEY ARE TO PERFORM IN THE EVENT OF FIRE,
 PANIC, OR OTHER EMERGENCY.
 (B) DRILLS OF THE EMERGENCY ORGANIZATION SHALL BE HELD
 AT QUARTERLY INTERVALS AND SHALL COVER SUCH POINTS AS
 THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE AVAILABLE FIRST
 AID FIRE APPLIANCES, THE TESTING OF DEVICES TO ALERT
 GUESTS, AND A STUDY OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR EMERGENCY
 DUTIES.
 (C) EMERGENCY DUTIES. UPON DISCOVERY OF A FIRE,
 EMPLOYEES SHALL CARRY OUT THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:
 -ACTIVATION OF THE FACILITY FIRE PROTECTION SIGNALING
 SYSTEM
 - NOTIFICATION OF THE PUBLIC FIRE DEPARTMENT
 - OTHER ACTION AS PREVIOUSLY INSTRUCTED
  
 (2) EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESIDENTS OR GUESTS.
 (A) A FLOOR DIAGRAM REFLECTING THE ACTUAL FLOOR
 ARRANGEMENT, EXIT LOCATIONS, AND ROOM IDENTIFICATION
 SHALL BE POSTED IN A LOCATION AND MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO
 THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION ON, OR IMMEDIATELY
 ADJACENT TO, EVERY GUEST ROOM DOOR IN HOTELS AND IN
 EVERY RESIDENT ROOM IN DORMITORIES.
 (B) FIRE SAFETY INFORMATION SHALL BE PROVIDED TO ALLOW
 GUESTS TO MAKE THE DECISION TO EVACUATE TO THE OUTSIDE,
 TO EVACUATE TO AN AREA OF REFUGE, TO REMAIN IN PLACE,
 OR TO EMPLOY ANY COMBINATION OF THE THREE OPTIONS.
  
 (3) EMERGENCY PLANS SHALL BE PROVIDED. EMERGENCY PLANS
 SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
 (A) PROCEDURES FOR REPORTING OF EMERGENCIES
 (B) OCCUPANT AND STAFF RESPONSE TO EMERGENCIES
 (C) EVACUATION PROCEDURES APPROPRIATE TO THE BUILDING,
 ITS OCCUPANCY, AND EMERGENCIES (SEE SECTION 4.3)
 (D) APPROPRIATENESS OF THE USE OF ELEVATORS
 (E) DESIGN AND CONDUCT OF FIRE DRILLS
 (F) TYPE AND COVERAGE OF BUILDING FIRE PROTECTION
 SYSTEMS
 (G) REQUIRED EMERGENCY PLANS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE
 AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION FOR REVIEW.
 (H) EMERGENCY PLANS SHALL BE REVIEWED AND UPDATED AS
 REQUIRED BY THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION
