 TRAVEL IS EXCEEDED, BOTH DOORS FROM THE BREAK ROOM LEAD

 ONLY WHEN THE TOTAL OF ALL ACCESSORY OCCUPANCIES IS
 LESS THAN 750 SQ. FEET IN AREA?
 COMMENT:
 AN EXAMPLE WOULD BE A BUSINESS OCCUPANCY WITH ONE
 ACCESSORY AREA OF 700SF FOR GATHERINGS AND MEETINGS AND
 A SECOND
 ACCESSORY AREA OF 650SF FOR FITNESS AND WORKOUT. IS THE
 EXCEPTION LIMITATION OF 750 S.F. MAX APPLIED TO EACH
 ACCESSORY AREA, IN
 WHICH CASE THIS BUILDING WOULD COMPLY, OR TO THE

 ANSWER:
 NO. CONSIDERING BOTH SPACES TO BE ASSEMBLY USES LOCATED
 ON THE SAME FLOOR, THE EXCEPTION TO FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE - BUILDING
 SECTION 508.3.1 WOULD NOT REQUIRE SEPARATION OF EITHER
 SPACE. HOWEVER, THE SECTION TO WHICH THE EXCEPTION
 RELATES WOULD LIMIT THE AGGREGATE ACCESSORY OCCUPANCIES
 TO 10% OF THE AREA OF THE FLOOR ON WHICH THEY ARE
 LOCATED. IF THE AREA OF TWO COMBINED ASSEMBLY USES
 EXCEEDED 10%, THEN AT LEAST ONE OF THE ASSEMBLY USES
 WOULD REQUIRE FIRE RESISTANT RATED SEPARATION OF 2
 HOURS IN A NON-SPRINKLED BUILDING AND 1 HOUR IN A
 BUILDING SPRINKLED THROUGHOUT.
