 APARTMENT OCCUPANCY*****
  
 NOTE: ANY REFERENCE TO NFPA 101 - THE LIFE SAFETY CODE
 IS REFERRING TO THE 2010 EDITION OF THE FLORIDA FIRE
 PREVENTION CODE WHICH CONTAINS THE 2009 EDITION OF NFPA
 101 WITH FLORIDA AMENDMENTS.
  
  
 GENERAL: FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE
 DURING DEMOLITION AND RENOVATION ACTIVITIES. IN THE
 EVENT A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS OUT OF SERVICE FOR
 MORE THAN 4-HOURS IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD, THE BUILDING
 SHALL BE PLACED UNDER A FIRE WATCH. ALL FIRE WATCH
 REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING (FAX:
 561-804-4774) AND APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF THE FIRE
 MARSHAL LOCATED AT 500 NORTH DIXIE HIGHWAY.
  
 GENERAL: PROVIDE AN EXTERIOR KEY SAFE TO ALLOW
 EMERGENCY RESPONDERS NON-FORCIBLE ENTRY INTO THE
 BUILDING DURING NON-BUSINESS HOURS. A KEY SAFE CAN BE
 ORDERED FROM WWW.KNOXBOX.COM.
  
 SITE: THE EXISTING SPRINKLER SYSTEM FIRE DEPARTMENT
 CONNECTION IS SURFACE MOUNTED (FERN STREET) ON THE FACE
 OF THE BUILDING. THE CURRENT PARKING SPACE AND METER
 NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND THE SPACE SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED
 WITH A PERMAMENT FREE STANDING SIGN INDICATING, "FDC -
 NO PARKING BY ORDER OF THE FIRE MARSHAL." SIGN SHALL BE
 12" X 18" WITH A WHITE BACKGROUND AND RED LETTERS AND
 SHALL BE A MAXIMUM OF SEVEN FEET IN HEIGHT TO THE
 BOTTOM OF THE SIGN.
  
 GENERAL: PER NFPA 101 SECTION 7.2.2.5.4 - STAIRWAY
 IDENTIFICATION: NEW ENCLOSED STAIRS SERVING THREE OR
 MORE STORIES AND EXISTING ENCLOSED STAIRS SERVING FIVE
 OR MORE STORIES SHALL COMPLY WITH (A) THROUGH (L).
 (A) THE STAIRS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH SPECIAL SIGNAGE
 WITHIN THE ENCLOSURE AT EACH FLOOR LANDING.
 (B) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE FLOOR LEVEL.
 (C) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE TERMINUS OF THE TOP
 AND BOTTOM OF THE STAIR ENCLOSURE.
 (D) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE IDENTIFICATION OF
 THE STAIR ENCLOSURE.
 (E) THE SIGNAGE SHALL INDICATE THE FLOOR LEVEL OF, AND
 THE DIRECTION TO, EXIT DISCHARGE.
 (F) THE SIGNAGE SHALL BE LOCATED INSIDE THE ENCLOSURE
 APPROXIMATELY 60-INCHES ABOVE THE FLOOR LANDING IN A
 POSITION THAT IS VISIBLE WHEN THE DOOR IS IN THE OPEN
 OR CLOSED POSITION.
 (G) THE FLOOR LEVEL DESIGNATION SHALL ALSO BE TACTILE.
 (H) THE SIGNAGE SHALL BE PAINTED OR STENCILED ON THE
 WALL OR ON A SEPARATE SIGN SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE
 WALL.
 (I) THE STAIRWAY IDENTIFICATION LETTER SHALL BE LOCATED
 AT THE TOP OF THE SIGN IN MINIMUM 1-INCH HIGH
 LETTERING.
 (J) SIGNAGE THAT READS "NO ROOF ACCESS" AND IS LOCATED
 UNDER THE STAIRWAY IDENTIFICATION LETTER SHALL
 DESIGNATE STAIRWAYS THAT DO NOT PROVIDE ROOF ACCESS.
 LETTERING SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1-INCH HIGH.
 (K) THE FLOOR LEVEL NUMBER SHALL BE LOCATED IN THE
 MIDDLE OF THE SIGN IN MINIMUM 5-INCH HIGH NUMBERS.
 MEZZANINE LEVELS SHALL HAVE THE LETTER "M" OR OTHER
 APPROPRIATE IDENTIFICATION LETTER PRECEDING THE FLOOR
 NUMBER, WHILE BASEMENT LEVELS SHALL HAVE THE LETTER "B"
 OR OTHER APPROPRIATE IDENTIFICATION LETTER PRECEDING
 THE FLOOR LEVEL NUMBER.
 (M) IDENTIFICATION OF THE LOWER AND UPPER TERMINUS OF
 THE STAIRWAY SHALL BE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SIGN
 IN MINIMUM 1-INCH HIGH LETTERS OR NUMBERS.
  
 ELEVATORS: CONFIRM EXISTING ELEVATORS CONFORM TO THE
 FIREFIGHTERS' EMERGENCY OPERATIONS REQUIREMENTS OF ASME
 A17.3.
  
 SHEET A0.01: PROVIDE BUILDING ADDRESS VISIBLE FROM THE
 STREET. NUMBERS SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING AND
 BE AT LEAST SIX-INCHES IN HEIGHT WITH 1-INCH STROKE AND
 SHALL CONTRAST THE BACKGROUND PER NFPA 1 SECTION
 10.12.1.2 OF THE FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE - NFPA 1.
  
 SHEET A2.00.1LS: PER NFPA 101 SECTION 7.2.2.5.4.2:
 WHEREVER AN ENCLOSED STAIR REQUIRES TRAVEL IN AN UPWARD
 DIRECTION TO REACH THE LEVEL OF EXIT DISCHARGE, SPECIAL
 SIGNS WITH DIRECTIONAL INDICATORS SHOWING THE DIRECTION
 TO THE LEVEL OF EXIT DISCHARGE SHALL BE PROVIDED AT
 EACH FLOOR LEVEL LANDING FROM WHICH UPWARD DIRECTION OF
 TRAVEL IS REQUIRED.
  
 SHEET A2.00.1LS: PER NFPA 101 SECTION 9.4.7 ELEVATORS
 SHALL NOT OPEN INTO AN EXIT ENCLOSURE.

 BEING A FUTURE RESTAURANT. THIS WILL CHANGE THE
 OCCUPANCY FROM MERCANTILE TO ASSEMBLY REQUIRING TWO
 SEPARATE EXITS. THE CURRENT EXITING SCHEME SHOWS THE
 SECONDARY EXIT ROUTED THROUGH THE RESIDENTIAL LOBBY

 1/2-HOUR FIRE RESISTANCE RATING AND DOORS THAT OPEN
 ONTO EXIT ACCESS CORRIDORS SHALL HAVE NOT LESS THAN A
 20-MINUTE FIRE PROTECTION RATING. PROTECT ALL OPENINGS

 COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED. PROVIDE A
 PRE-RECORDED FIRE ALARM EVACUATION MESSAGE NOTIFYING
 OCCUPANTS AN EMERGENCY HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE
 BUILDING, LOCATE THE NEAREST EXIT, AND EXIT THE
 BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR.
  
 FIRE ALARM: PER NFPA 101 SECTION11.8.4.2.1 TWO-WAY
 TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION SERVICE SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR
 FIRE DEPARTMENT USE. THIS SYSTEM SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH NFPA 72, NATIONAL FIRE ALARM CODE. THE
 COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM SHALL OPERATE BETWEEN THE
 EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER AND EVERY ELEVATOR CAR, EVERY
 ELEVATOR LOBBY, AND EACH FLOOR LEVEL OF EXIT STAIRS.
  
 FIRE ALARM: PLANS DO NOT INDICATE THE METHOD (HEAT
 DETECTOR/FLOW SWITCH WITHOUT TIME DELAY) USED TO SHUNT
 TRIP POWER TO THE ELEVATOR IN THE EVENT AN AUTOMATIC
 SPRINKLER ACTIVATES IN THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM.
  
 FIRE ALARM: PLANS INDICATE BOTH A HEAT AND SMOKE
 DETECTOR AT THE TOP OF THE ELEVATOR SHAFTS. PER NFPA 72
 SECTION 21.3.6 (2010 ED), SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL NOT BE
 INSTALLED IN UNSPRINKLERED ELEVATOR HOISTWAYS UNLESS
 THEY ARE INSTALLED TO ACTIVATE THE ELEVATOR HOISTWAY
 SMOKE RELIEF EQUIPMENT.
  
 FIRE ALARM: ADD THE WATERFLOW AND TAMPER SWITCH SYMBOLS
