 CHANGE TO HIGHER HAZARD CATEGORY.
 WHEN A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION IS MADE TO A
 HIGHER HAZARD CATEGORY (LOWER NUMBER) AS SHOWN IN TABLE
 912.4, THE MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 10 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, BUILDING.
  
 4) THE MONUMENTAL STAIR IS NOW AN ISSUE (A-3 OCCUPANCY)
 WHERE IT WAS NOT UNDER THE MERCANTILE OCCUPANCY. THE
 EXCEPTION FOR MONUMENTAL STAIRS IS FOUND UNDER 708.2
 EXCEPTION # 7, THE MONUMENTAL STAIR NOT REQUIRED TO BE
 PART OF THE MEANS OF EGRESS BECAUSE THERE WERE 2
 VERTICAL EXITS TO THE 2ND FLOOR.
  
 THE 2010 FBC-B SECTION 1028.2 REQUIRES 50 % OF THE
 TOTAL OCCUPANTS TO EXIT THROUGH THE MAIN EXIT. 1028.3
 ASSEMBLY OTHER EXITS. EACH LEVEL OF AN ASSEMBLY
 OCCUPANCY SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO A MAIN EXIT AND SHALL BE
 PROVIDED WITH ADDITIONAL EXITS OF SUFFICIENT WIDTH TO
 ACCOMMODATE ONE-HALF OF THE TOTAL OCCUPANT LOAD SERVED
 BY THAT LEVEL. SUCH ADDITIONAL EXITS SHALL BE LOCATED
 AS FAR FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT AS PRACTICABLE. SUCH
 EXITS SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE FROM A CROSS AISLE OR A SIDE
 AISLE. PLEASE PROVIDE CODE COMPLIANCE.
  
 IF THE MONUMENTAL STAIR WAS ENCLOSED ON BOTH FLOORS
 WITH A ONE HOUR RATED ENCLOSURE IT WOULD THEN BECOME A
 CODE COMPLIANT SET OF EXIT STAIRS, THEY WOULD NOT BE
 REQUIRED TO GO TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING SINCE
 THE 2 VERTICAL EXITS WOULD MEET THAT REQUIREMENT. DOORS
 COULD BE LEFT IN THE OPEN POSITION IF THEY WERE TIED TO
 MAG LOCKS AND THE FIRE ALARM.
  
 5) THE LIFE SAFETY PLANS HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS SINCE
 THE MONUMETAL STAIRS CAN NOT BE USED FOR EXITING AND
 SINCE THE 2ND FLOOR OCCUPANT LOAD IS AT 500 OCCUPANTS,
 NEITHER THE STAIRS NOR THE DOORS AT THE BACK OF THE
 BUILDING WILL HANDLE THESE OCCUPANT LOADS. THE DESIGNER
 IS TAKING A 36 INCH DOOR AND STATING 180 OCCUPANTS CAN
 EXIT THIS OPENING, WHEREAS THE CLEAR OPENING IS CLOSER
 TO 34 INCHES AND ONLY 170 OCCUPANTS CAN EXIT. FOR A
 PAIR OF DOUBLE DOORS 340 OCCUPANTS. THE BACK OF HOUSE
 SEERVICE CORRIDOR IS ALSO CONSIDERED A EXIT PASSAGEWAY
 SINCE IT IS A CONTINUATION OF THE VERTICAL EXIT. MANY
 OF THE DOORS IN THIS EXIT PASSAGEWAY DOORWAYS ARE NOT
 WIDE ENOUGH FOR THE NEW ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES THAT NOW
 EXIST. FOR EXAMPLE TO THE SOUTH THE SPACE WAS
 ORIGINALLY DESIGN FOR MERCANTILE OCCUPANCY, THIS IS NOW
 GOING TO BE A RESTRAUNT WITH DOUBLE THE OCCUPANT LOAD
 OF HOW THE EXIT PASSAGE WAY WAS DESIGNED. THE SAME HOLD
 TRUE JUST TO THE NORTH, A SECOND FLOOR NIGHTCLUB AND
 THE SECONDARY EXIT THAT LEADS TO THE EXIT STAIRS.
 PLEASE PROVIDE THE OCCUPANT LOADS THAT WILL SHARE THE
 EXITING FOR THIS COMMON EXIT PASSAGE WAY. PLEASE NOTE
 PART OF THE EXIT DISCHARGE A 4 FOOT WIDE SIDEWALK
 AND STAIRS., THE STAIRS WILL ONLY ALLOW FOR 160
 OCCUPANTS. PLEASE PROVIDE THE LIFE SAFETY PLANS TO THE
 PUBLIC WAY.
  
 6) ANOTHER ISSUE THAT IS BORDER LINE IS THE OCCUPANT
 LOAD ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND A THIRD REQUIRED STAIRWAY
 2010 FBC-B TABLE 1021.1 IF 501 OCCUPANTS ARE LOCATED ON
 THE 2ND FLOOR THEN A THIRD REQUIRED EXIT STAIR WILL
 ALSO BE REQUIRED.
  
 7) ) THE PLANS DO NOT PROVIDE A SECTION THROUGH THE
 MONUMENTAL STAIRWAY, PLEASE PROVIDE SUCH SECTION
 PROVIDING DETAILS SUCH AS DRAFT CURTAIN AND SPRINKLER
 LOCATION.
 2010 FBC-B 708.2 EXCEPTION 2.1. WHERE THE AREA OF THE
 FLOOR OPENING BETWEEN STORIES DOES NOT EXCEED TWICE THE
 HORIZONTAL PROJECTED AREA OF THE ESCALATOR OR STAIRWAY
 AND THE OPENING IS PROTECTED BY A DRAFT CURTAIN AND
 CLOSELY SPACED SPRINKLERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13.
 IN OTHER THAN GROUPS B AND M, THIS APPLICATION IS
 LIMITED TO OPENINGS THAT DO NOT CONNECT MORE THAN FOUR
 STORIES. PLEASE NOTE THIS EXCEPTION IS ONLY FOR
 BUSINESS & MERCANTILE, NOT FOR AN ASSEMBLY USE, PLEASE
 PROVIDE HOW THIS CODE VIOLATION WILL BE COMPLIED.
  
 8) SHEET # A-3.0 INDICATES A NEW ROOF CURB PLEASE
 PROVIDE TTHE MANUFACTURES CUT SHEETS ON THE NEW ROOF
 CURB FOR THIS WIND SPEED, 170 MPH V-ULT.
  
 9A) THRESHOLD INSPECTION PLAN FL S. S. 553.71(7) "
 THRESHOLD BUILDING" MEANING ANY BUILDING WHICH IS
 GREATER THAN (3) STORIES OR 50 FT IN HEIGHT, OR WHICH
 HAS AN ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION AS DENIED IN
 THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE WHICH EXCEEDS 5,000 SQ FT IN
 AREA AND AN OCCUPANT CONTENT OF GREATER THAN 500
 PERSONS.
  
 109.3.6.1 THE ENFORCING AGENCY SHALL REQUIRE A SPECIAL
 INSPECTOR TO PERFORM STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS ON A
 THRESHOLD BUILDING PURSUANT TO A STRUCTURAL INSPECTION
 PLAN PREPARED BY THE ENGINEER OF RECORD. THE STRUCTURAL
 INSPECTION PLAN MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE ENFORCING
 AGENCY PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF A BUILDING PERMIT FOR
 THE CONSTRUCTION OF A THRESHOLD BUILDING. THE PURPOSE
 OF THE STRUCTURAL INSPECTION PLAN IS TO PROVIDE
 SPECIFIC INSPECTION PROCEDURES AND SCHEDULES SO THAT
 THE BUILDING CAN BE ADEQUATELY INSPECTED FOR COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE PERMITTED DOCUMENTS.
