 RESPONSE COMMENT: THIS NOTE APPLIES TO CONSTRUCTION
 ACTIVITIES, NOT JUST DEMOLITION.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT: SHEET A0.2: ALL CONSTRUCTION AND
 DEMOLITION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 NFPA 241. TRASH AND CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS SHALL BE
 REMOVED FROM THE SITE DAILY. SMOKING SHALL BE
 PROHIBITED EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED EXTERIOR AREAS. ALL
 OTHER DEMOLITION OR CONSTRUCTION AREAS SHALL HAVE "NO
 SMOKING" SIGNS POSTED. WHERE SMOKING IS PERMITTED, SAFE
 RECEPTACLES FOR SMOKING MATERIALS SHALL BE PROVIDED.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT: PROVIDE NOTE ON DRAWING.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT: SHEET A0.2: FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS
 SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE DURING DEMOLITION AND RENOVATION
 ACTIVITIES. IN THE EVENT A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS
 OUT OF SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 4-HOURS IN A 24-HOUR
 PERIOD, THE BUILDING SHALL BE PLACED UNDER A FIRE
 WATCH. ALL FIRE WATCH REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN
 WRITING (FAX: 561-804-4774) AND APPROVED BY THE OFFICE
 OF THE FIRE MARSHAL LOCATED AT 500 NORTH DIXIE HIGHWAY.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT: ROLL-UP AEROBICS MATS ARE TOO EASILY
 REMOVED AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE "EQUIPMENT" IN MY
 OPINION. THIS ROOM SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR THE WORST
 CASE SCENARIO OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT: SHEET A2.2: AEROBICS ROOM #200 IS
 USING AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 50 SQ.FT. PER PERSON
 WHILE AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON
 WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE AS THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO
 BE ANY EXERCISE EQUIPEMENT IS THIS ROOM.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT: ROLL-UP AEROBICS MATS ARE TOO EASILY
 REMOVED AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE "EQUIPMENT" IN MY
 OPINION. THIS ROOM SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR THE WORST
 CASE SCENARIO OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT: SHEET A2.3: IF THE AEROBICS ROOM
 OCCUPANT LOAD IS REFACTORED USING AN OCCUPANT LOAD
 FACTOR OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON, THE OCCUPANT LOAD ON
 THE SECOND FLOOR IS APPROXIMATELY 500 PERSONS AND WOULD
 RESULT IN A NEEDED EGRESS WIDTH OF 100 INCHES. THERE
 APPEARS TO ONLY BE 72 INCHES OF EGRESS WIDTH PROVIDED
 WITH ENTRY INTO TWO EXISTING EXIT STAIR TOWERS.
  
 RESPONSE COMMENT: DURING AN EMERGENCY, MANY OCCUPANTS
 WILL LEAVE THE SAME WAY THEY ENTERED (EMPHASIS
 APPLIED!) AS THIS IS MOST FAMILIAR TO THEM. THE
 PROPOSED EXITING SCHEME IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE FIRE
 DEPARTMENT AS THE SECOND FLOOR TWO REAR EXIT STAIRS
 WILL BE UNFAMILIAR TO OCCUPANTS AS MOST FITNESS PERSONS
 WILL ACCESS THE SECOND FLOOR VIA MONUMENTAL STAIR. WE
 WOULD SUPPORT CHANGING THE MONUMENTAL STAIR TO A
 FIRE-RATED EXIT STAIR WHEREBY IT IS ENCLOSED AT THE TOP
 AND BOTTOM OR BY PROVIDING ADDITIONAL EXIT STAIR(S) AT
 THE WESTERN AREA OF THE BUILDING.
 ORIGINAL COMMENT: SHEET A2.3: THE MEANS OF EGRESS
 ARRANGEMENT FROM THE SECOND FLOOR IS OF GREAT CONCERN.
 THE OCCUPANTS NEED TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN
 ENTRANCE/EXIT. IT IS UNCLEAR FROM THE PLANS IF ENTRY
 VESTIBULE #1 OR ENTRY VESTIBULE #2 (OR BOTH) ARE
 INTENDED TO BE THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT. IN EITHER CASE,
 THE MAIN ROUTE OF ACCESS TO THE SECOND FLOOR IS BY
 MEANS OF AN UNPROTECTED, UNECLOSED MONUMENTAL STAIR. IN
 AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, MANY OCCUPANTS WILL RELY ON
 LEAVING THE BUILDING THE SAME WAY THEY ENTERED.
