 SHEET A0.2: ALL CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WORK SHALL
 CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 241. TRASH AND
 CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE
 DAILY. SMOKING SHALL BE PROHIBITED EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED
 EXTERIOR AREAS. ALL OTHER DEMOLITION OR CONSTRUCTION
 AREAS SHALL HAVE "NO SMOKING" SIGNS POSTED. WHERE
 SMOKING IS PERMITTED, SAFE RECEPTACLES FOR SMOKING
 MATERIALS SHALL BE PROVIDED.
  
 SHEET A0.2: FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE
 DURING DEMOLITION AND RENOVATION ACTIVITIES. IN THE
 EVENT A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS OUT OF SERVICE FOR
 MORE THAN 4-HOURS IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD, THE BUILDING
 SHALL BE PLACED UNDER A FIRE WATCH. ALL FIRE WATCH
 REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING (FAX:
 561-804-4774) AND APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF THE FIRE
 MARSHAL LOCATED AT 500 NORTH DIXIE HIGHWAY.
  
 SHEET A2.2: PROVIDE 18" DEEP NON-COMBUSTIBLE DRAFT
 CURTAIN AND WATER CURTAIN (CLOSELY SPACED SPRINKLERS)
 AROUND THE FLOOR/CEILING OPENING CREATED BY THE
 MONUMENTAL STAIR.
  
 SHEET A2.2: AEROBICS ROOM #200 IS USING AN OCCUPANT
 LOAD FACTOR OF 50 SQ.FT. PER PERSON WHILE AN OCCUPANT
 LOAD FACTOR OF 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON WOULD BE MORE
 APPROPRIATE AS THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY EXERCISE
 EQUIPEMENT IS THIS ROOM.
  
 SHEET A2.3: IF THE AEROBICS ROOM OCCUPANT LOAD IS
 REFACTORED USING AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 15 SQ.FT.
 PER PERSON, THE OCCUPANT LOAD ON THE SECOND FLOOR IS
 APPROXIMATELY 500 PERSONS AND WOULD RESULT IN A NEEDED
 EGRESS WIDTH OF 100 INCHES. THERE APPEARS TO ONLY BE 72
 INCHES OF EGRESS WIDTH PROVIDED WITH ENTRY INTO TWO
 EXISTING EXIT STAIR TOWERS.
  
 SHEET A2.3: THE MEANS OF EGRESS ARRANGEMENT FROM THE
 SECOND FLOOR IS OF GREAT CONCERN. THE OCCUPANTS NEED TO
 HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT. IT IS UNCLEAR
 FROM THE PLANS IF ENTRY VESTIBULE #1 OR ENTRY VESTIBULE
 #2 (OR BOTH) ARE INTENDED TO BE THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT.
 IN EITHER CASE, THE MAIN ROUTE OF ACCESS TO THE SECOND
 FLOOR IS BY MEANS OF AN UNPROTECTED, UNECLOSED
 MONUMENTAL STAIR. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, MANY
 OCCUPANTS WILL RELY ON LEAVING THE BUILDING THE SAME
 WAY THEY ENTERED. THE CURRENT EGRESS DESIGN DOES NOT
 MEET THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF THE LIFE SAFETY CODE:
  
 LIFE SAFETY CODE REFERENCES:
 12.2.3.6.3 THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT SHALL BE AT THE LEVEL
 OF EXIT DISCHARGE OR SHALL CONNECT TO A STAIRWAY OR
 RAMP LEADING TO A STREET.
 12.2.3.6.4 IN ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES, EACH LEVEL OF THE
 ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN
 ENTRANCE/EXIT, AND SUCH ACCESS SHALL HAVE THE CAPACITY
 TO ACCOMMODATE ONE-HALF OF THE OCCUPANT LOAD OF SUCH
 LEVELS.
 12.2.3.7 OTHER EXITS. EACH LEVEL OF AN ASSEMBLY
 OCCUPANCY SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT
 AND SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH ADDITIONAL EXITS OF A WIDTH
 TO ACCOMMODATE NOT LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF THE TOTAL
 OCCUPANT LOAD SERVED BY THAT LEVEL.
  
 SHEET A5.0: FIRE EXIT HARDWARE SHALL BE PROVIDED ON
 FIRE-RATED DOORS.
  
 SHEET EL3.1: AN EXIT SIGN SHOULD NOT BE PLACED OVER THE
 MONUMENTAL STAIR.
  
 SHEET E4.2: PROVIDE A PRE-RECORDED FIRE ALARM
 EVACUATION MESSAGE NOTIFYING OCCUPANTS AN EMERGENCY HAS
 BEEN REPORTED IN THE BUILDING, LOCATE THE NEAREST EXIT,
 AND EXIT THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT USE THE
 ELEVATOR.
  
 SHEET FP-1: PROVIDE CLOSELY SPACED SPRINKLERS (AND 18"
 DEEP NON-COMBUSTIBLE DRAFT CURTAIN) AROUND
 FLOOR/CEILING OPENING OF THE MONUMENTAL STAIR.
  
 GENERAL: PROVIDE AN EXTERIOR KEY SAFE TO ALLOW
 EMERGENCY RESPONDERS NON-FORCIBLE ENTRY INTO THE
 BUILDING DURING NON-BUSINESS HOURS. A KEY SAFE CAN BE
 ORDERED FROM WWW.KNOXBOX.COM.
  
 GENERAL: PROVIDE TACTILE SIGNAGE AT ALL REQUIRED EXIT
 DOORS WITH EXIT SIGNS.
