 1) THE PERMIT APPLICATION INDICATES THE CONTRACT VALUE
 OF $42,500.00, PLEASE SEE THE CODE SECTION LISTED BELOW
 THAT DEALS WITH ACCESSIBILITY TO EXISTING BUILDINGS AND
 THE
 ADDITIONAL COST INVOLVED TO START TO BRING THIS
 STRUCTURE UP TO THE CURRENT ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS.
 THE 2010 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION 202.4.1
 REQUIRES UP TO 20% OF THE CONTRACT VALUE ($8,500) TO
 BRING THE BUILDING UP TO CODE FOR ACCESSIBILITY.
 SECTION 202.4.2 PROVIDES THE PRIORITY IN WHICH ELEMENTS
 SHOULD BE MADE ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT INCURRING OVER THE
 20% DISPROPORTIONATE COST.
 202.4.1 DISPROPORTIONATE COST.
 ALTERATIONS MADE TO PROVIDE AN ACCESSIBLE PATH OF
 TRAVEL TO THE ALTERED AREA WILL BE DEEMED
 DISPROPORTIONATE TO THE OVERALL ALTERATION WHEN THE
 COST EXCEEDS 20% OF THE COST OF THE ALTERATION TO THE
 PRIMARY FUNCTION AREA. COSTS THAT MAY BE COUNTED AS
 EXPENDITURES REQUIRED TO PROVIDE AN ACCESSIBLE PATH OF
 TRAVEL MAY INCLUDE: (I) COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING
 AN ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE AND AN ACCESSIBLE ROUTE TO THE
 ALTERED AREA; (II) COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH MAKING
 RESTROOMS ACCESSIBLE, SUCH AS INSTALLING GRAB BARS,
 ENLARGING TOILET STALLS, INSULATING PIPES, OR
 INSTALLING ACCESSIBLE FAUCET CONTROLS; (III) COSTS
 ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES, SUCH
 AS RELOCATING THE TELEPHONE TO AN ACCESSIBLE HEIGHT,
 INSTALLING AMPLIFICATION DEVICES, OR INSTALLING A TEXT
 TELEPHONE (TTY); (IV) COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH RELOCATING
 AN INACCESSIBLE DRINKING FOUNTAIN.
 202.4.2 ACCESSIBLE FEATURES IN THE EVENT OF
 DISPROPORTIONALITY.
 WHEN THE COST OF ALTERATIONS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE PATH
 OF TRAVEL TO THE ALTERED AREA FULLY ACCESSIBLE IS
 DISPROPORTIONATE TO THE COST OF THE OVERALL ALTERATION,
 THE PATH OF TRAVEL SHALL BE MADE ACCESSIBLE TO THE
 EXTENT THAT IT CAN BE MADE ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT INCURRING
 DISPROPORTIONATE COSTS. IN CHOOSING WHICH ACCESSIBLE
 ELEMENTS TO PROVIDE, PRIORITY SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THOSE
 ELEMENTS THAT WILL PROVIDE THE GREATEST ACCESS, IN THE
 FOLLOWING ORDER: (I) AN ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE; (II) AN
 ACCESSIBLE ROUTE TO THE ALTERED AREA; (III) AT LEAST
 ONE ACCESSIBLE RESTROOM FOR EACH SEX OR A SINGLE UNISEX
 RESTROOM; (IV) ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES; (V) ACCESSIBLE
 DRINKING FOUNTAINS; AND (VI) WHEN POSSIBLE, ADDITIONAL
 ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS SUCH AS PARKING, STORAGE, AND
 ALARMS.
  
 1A) INTERIOR DOORS ARE LABELED AS 2'8" WIDE DOORWAYS,
 2010 ACCESSIBILITY CODE 404.2.3 REQUIRES A CLEAR WIDTH
 OF 32" WHICH REQUIRES AT A MINIMUM OF 34".
 404.2.3 CLEAR WIDTH.
 DOOR OPENINGS SHALL PROVIDE A CLEAR WIDTH OF 32 INCHES
 (815 MM) MINIMUM. CLEAR OPENINGS OF DOORWAYS WITH
 SWINGING DOORS SHALL BE MEASURED BETWEEN THE FACE OF
 THE DOOR AND THE STOP, WITH THE DOOR OPEN 90 DEGREES.
 OPENINGS MORE THAN 24 INCHES (610 MM) DEEP SHALL
 PROVIDE A CLEAR OPENING OF 36 INCHES (915 MM) MINIMUM.
 THERE SHALL BE NO PROJECTIONS INTO THE REQUIRED CLEAR
 OPENING WIDTH LOWER THAN 34 INCHES (865 MM) ABOVE THE
 FINISH FLOOR OR GROUND. PROJECTIONS INTO THE CLEAR
 OPENING WIDTH BETWEEN 34 INCHES (865 MM) AND 80 INCHES
 (2030 MM) ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR OR GROUND SHALL NOT
 EXCEED 4 INCHES (100 MM).
  
 1B) PLEASE PROVIDE A LIST OF ALTERATIONS PROVIDING
 WHERE THE MONIES WILL BE SPENT BRINGING THIS BUILDING
 UP TO THE 2010 ACCESSIBILITY CODE.
  
 2) PLEASE PROVIDE LOCATTION FOR PORTABLE FIRE
 EXTINGUISHERS PER 2010 FBC-B:
 906.5 CONSPICUOUS LOCATION. [F]
  
 PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS SHALL BE LOCATED IN
 CONSPICUOUS LOCATIONS WHERE THEY WILL BE READILY
 ACCESSIBLE AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR USE. THESE
 LOCATIONS SHALL BE ALONG NORMAL PATHS OF TRAVEL, UNLESS
 THE FIRE CODE OFFICIAL DETERMINES THAT THE HAZARD POSED
 INDICATES THE NEED FOR PLACEMENT AWAY FROM NORMAL PATHS
 OF TRAVEL.
  
 906.6 UNOBSTRUCTED AND UNOBSCURED. [F]
  
 PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS SHALL NOT BE OBSTRUCTED OR
 OBSCURED FROM VIEW. IN ROOMS OR AREAS IN WHICH VISUAL
 OBSTRUCTION CANNOT BE COMPLETELY AVOIDED, MEANS SHALL
 BE PROVIDED TO INDICATE THE LOCATIONS OF EXTINGUISHERS.
  
 3A)EXIT SIGNS 2010 FBC-B 1006.3.1: EXITS SHALL BE
 MARKED BY AN APPROVED SIGN READILY VISIBLE FROM ANY
 DIRECTION OF EXIT ACCESS. EVERY EXIT SIGN SHALL BE
 SUITABLY ILLUMINATED BY A RELIABLE LIGHT SOURCE.
 EXTERNALLY AND INTERNALLY ILLUMINATED SIGNS SHALL BE
 VISIBLE IN BOTH NORMAL AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING.
  
 3B) 1006.3.4 EXIT STAIR DOOR OR TACTILE SIGNAGE.
 TACTILE SIGNAGE STATING "EXIT" AND COMPLYING WITH
 ICC/ANSI A117.1, AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD FOR
 ACCESSIBLE AND USABLE BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES, SHALL
 BE INSTALLED ADJACENT TO THE LATCH SIDE OF THE DOOR 60
 INCHES (1524 MM) ABOVE THE FINISHED FLOOR TO THE CENTER
 LINE OF THE SIGN.
