 1) SHEET A-1 & LS-1 INDICATE THE OCCUPANCY AS A
 BUSINESS OCCUPANCY, THIS IS CORRECT FOR EDUCATIONAL
 USAGE ABOVE THE 12TH GRADE. WHERE WE DISAGREE IS HOW WE
 DETEWRMINE THE OCCUPANT LOAD. THE CODE COMMENTARY IN
 REGARDS TO FBC-B TABLE 1004.1.1 INDICATES THAT ALTHOUGH
 THIS IS CLASSIFIED AS A BUSINESS OCCUPANCY WE STILL GO
 TO TABLE 1004.1 FOR THE INTENDED USAGE. I BELIEVE THE
 OPEN LAB SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH THE SQUARE FOOTAGE FOR
 SHOPS AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING ROOMS OR (50 NET), THIS
 ROOM IS APPROX 1027 SQ FT OR AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF
 21OCCUPANTS THE OTHER AREA OF DISCREPANCY IS THE
 CLASSROOM 320H WHICH IS A CLASSROOM OR (20 NET) THE
 ROOM SIZE BEING APPROX. 800 SQ FT OR AN OCCUPANT LOAD
 OF 40.
  
 THE BREAK ROOM AND CRITIQUE LOUNGE AREAS SHOULD BE
 TAKEN AT 15 SQ FT PER OCCUPANT (NET) AND THE OFFICES AS
 100 SQ FT PER OCCUPANT.(GROSS) PER TABLE 1004.1.1. THE
 NET CALCULATION ALLOWS THE DESIGNER TO FIGURE THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD TO THE ACTUAL OCCUPIED FLOOR AREAS. THE
 AREAS USED FOR PERMANENT BUILDING COMPONENTS, SUCH AS
 WALLS, FIXED EQUIPMENT, THICKNESSES OF WALLS,
 CORRIDORS, RESTROOMS, MECHANICAL ROOMS, AND CLOSETS, IS
 NOT TO BE INCLUDED IN NET FLOOR AREA, SEE 2010 CODE
 COMMENTARY UNDER TABLE 1004.1.1.
  
 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TOTAL OCCUPANT LOAD MAY STILL BE
 ABOVE 49 OCCUPANTS WHEN THE NET AREAS REDUCED AREAS ARE
 REMOVED FROM THE EQUATION. IF SO THE TWO REMOTE EGRESS
 OPENINGS WILL MEET THE 2010 FBC-B TABLE 1015.1 AND
 1015.2.1 DOORWAYS TO BE 1/3 THE DIAGONAL DISTANCE
 APART.
  
 2) 2010 FBC-B 712.6 FIRE WALLS, FIRE BARRIERS, FIRE
 PARTITIONS, SMOKE BARRIERS AND SMOKE PARTITIONS OR ANY
 OTHER WALL REQUIRED TO HAVE PROTECTED OPENINGS SHALL BE
 EFFECTIVELY AND PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED WITH SIGNS OR
 STENCILING IN A MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO THE AUTHORITY
 HAVING JURISDICTION. SUCH IDENTIFICATION SHALL BE ABOVE
 ANY DECORATIVE CEILING AND IN CONCEALED SPACES.
 SUGGESTED WORDING FOR FIRE AND SMOKE BARRIERS: "FIRE
 AND SMOKE BARRIER - PROTECT ALL OPENINGS."
  
 3) THE PLANS INDICATE ALL EXIT DOORS SWINGING INTO THE
 CORRIDOR, PLEASE PROVIDE TYPE OF DOORS AND FIRE RATINGS
 NO DOOR SCHEDULE WAS PROVIDED. 2010 FBC-B TABLE 715.4.
  
 4) PLEASE PROVIDE CODE COMPLIANCE FOR THE FRONT ENTRY
 DOUBLE DOORS, 2010 FBC-B1008.1.9.3.(3).
  
 5) PLEASE PROVIDE THE TYPE OF LATCHING MECHANISM TO BE
 INSTALLED ON THE EGRESS DOORS? 2010 FBC-B 1008.
  
 6) NO DETAILS OF HANDICAPPED RESTROOMS WERE SUBMITTED
