 REVIEW COMMENTS - FIRE DEPARTMENT
  
 THE SCOPE OF WORK APPEARS TO INCLUDE A CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY. SUBMIT DEMOLITION DRAWINGS. ALL DEMOLITION
 WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 241.
 TRASH AND CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE
 SITE DAILY. POST "NO SMOKING" SIGNS THROUGHOUT
 BUILDING.
  
 PROVIDE BUILDING ADDRESS VISIBLE FROM THE STREET.
 NUMBERS SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING AND BE AT
 LEAST SIX-INCHES IN HEIGHT WITH 1-INCH STROKE AND SHALL
 CONTRAST THE BACKGROUND.
  
 INDICATE THE OCCUPANCY TYPE AND FIRE RATED SEPARATION
 BETWEEN SUITE #108 AND THE AREA TO THE WEST OF THIS
 SUITE. EACH NEW SMOKE OR FIRE-RATED WALL/PARTITION
 SHALL BE PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED WITH SIGNS OR
 STENCILING READING FIRE/SMOKE BARRIER-PROTECT ALL
 OPENINGS. CHARACTERS SHALL BE AT LEAST 4-INCHES IN
 HEIGHT AND HALF-INCH IN WIDTH. IDENTIFICATION SHALL BE
 SPACED NOT MORE THAN 15 FEET ON CENTER.
  
 PENETRATIONS THROUGH A FIRE-RATED WALL ASSEMBLY SHALL
 BE PROTECTED BY A FIRESTOP SYSTEM OR DEVICE.
  
 INTERIOR WALL AND CEILING FINISH MATERIALS SHALL BE
 EITHER CLASS A OR CLASS B PER SECTION 14.3.3.2 OF NFPA
 101 (FLORIDA).
  
 CONFIRM THE LARGE MOTIVATIONAL POSTERS/SIGNS IN THE
 EGRESS CORRIDORS MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASS A OR
 CLASS B INTERIOR WALL FINISHES.
  
 RETRACTABLE BELT BARRIER OBSTRUCTS PATH OF EGRESS TO
 EXIT DOORS.
  
 THE CURRENT SHELL SPACE (FUTURE CLASSROOMS #7 & #8)
 WILL BE TREATED AS A STORAGE ROOM UNTIL THIS SPACE IS
 OCCUPIED. THE STORAGE ROOM WILL NEED TO BE SEPARATED
 FROM THE REST OF THE BUILDING WITH A ONE-HOUR FIRE
 BARRIER HAVING PROTECTED OPENINGS AND PENETRATIONS.
  
 FUTURE CLASSROOM #8 SHOWS FURNITURE OBSTRUCTING THE
 EXTERIOR EXIT DOOR.
  
 ARTWORK AND TEACHING MATERIALS ATTACHED TO THE WALLS
 SHALL NOT EXCEED 20 PERCENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL WALL
 AREA.
  
 AN EMERGENCY PLAN TO BE DEVELOPED AND POSTED IN
 BUILDING PRIOR TO OCCUPANCY.
  
 EMERGENCY EGRESS DRILLS SHALL BE CONDUCTED MONTHLY. ALL
 DRILLS SHALL BE SOUNDED ON THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM.
  
 FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTIONS SHALL BE CONDUCTED MONTHLY
 BY A TRAINED SENIOR MEMBER OF THE STAFF, AFTER WHICH A
 COPY OF THE LATEST INSPECTION REPORT SHALL BE POSTED IN
 A CONSPICUOUS PLACE IN THE DAY-CARE FACILITY. IT SHALL
 BE THE DUTY OF THE STAFF TO INSPECT ALL EXITS DAILY TO
 ENSURE THAT ALL DOORS AND EXIT PATHS ARE MAINTAINED
 CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTIONS.
  
 FIRE ALARM: PROVIDE NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES IN ALL
 PUBLIC AND COMMON USE SPACES SUCH AS READING #123,
 BREAK #129, ETC.
  
 FIRE ALARM: A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND A THIRD
 PARTY MONITORING/VERIFICATION (UL OR ETL) CERTIFICATE
 SHALL BE PROVIDED AT TIME OF FINAL FIRE ALARM
 INSPECTION.
