 REVIEW COMMENTS - FIRE DEPARTMENT
  
 CONFIRM THE OCCUPANCY OF THIS SPACE WILL BE EDUCATIONAL
 AND NOT BUSINESS.
  
 ALL CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO
 THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 241. TRASH AND CONSTRUCTION
 DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE DAILY.
  
 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE DURING
 DEMOLITION AND RENOVATION ACTIVITIES. IN THE EVENT A
 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS OUT OF SERVICE FOR MORE THAN
 4-HOURS IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD, THE BUILDING SHALL BE
 PLACED UNDER A FIRE WATCH. ALL FIRE WATCH REQUESTS MUST
 BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING AND APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF
 THE FIRE MARSHAL LOCATED AT 500 NORTH DIXIE HIGHWAY.
  
 SEPARATE PLANS AND PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE
 MODIFICATION OF THE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND FIRE
 ALARM SYSTEM.
  
 EXTINGUISHERS SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM RATING OF 2A:10BC
 AND SHALL BE TAGGED BY A LICENSED FIRE EXTINGUISHER
 COMPANY.
  
 PROVIDE TACTILE SIGNAGE AT ALL REQUIRED EXIT DOORS WITH
 EXIT SIGNS.
  
 THE LOCK/LATCH RELEASING MECHANISM ON ALL DOORS SHALL
 OPEN THE DOOR WITH NOT MORE THAN ONE RELEASING
 OPERATION. THE RELEASING MECHANISM SHALL HAVE AN
 OBVIOUS METHOD OF OPERATION THAT IS READILY OPERATED
 UNDER ALL LIGHTING CONDITIONS. THE RELEASING DEVICE
 SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF BEING OPERATED WITH ONE HAND AND
 SHOULD NOT REQUIRE TIGHT GRASPING, TIGHT PINCHING OR
 TWISTING OF THE WRIST TO OPERATE.
  
 FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES WILL BE NEEDED IN
 THE CLASSROOM AND HC RESTROOM.
  
 THE RESIDENTIAL STYLE FIRE SPRINKLERS WILL NEED TO BE
 REPLACED WITH COMMERCIAL STYLE SPRINKLERS. SPRINKLERS
 WILL NEED TO ADDED TO ANY SMALL CLOSETS AND RESTROOMS
 PER NFPA 13.
  
 INDICATE IF THE EXISTING COOKING APPLIANCES WILL BE
 USED OR REMOVED.
