 REVIEW COMMENTS - FIRE DEPARTMENT
  
 DESIGN SHALL CONFORM TO THE 2007 EDITION OF THE FLORIDA
 FIRE PREVENTION CODE WHICH CONTAINS THE FLORIDA EDITION
 OF NFPA 1 AND NFPA 101.
  
 PROVIDE A DETAILED SITE PLAN INDICATING FIRE DEPARTMENT
 VEHICLE ACCESS WIDTHS, MARKED FIRE LANES, FIRE HYDRANT
 LOCATIONS, PERIMETER GATES/FENCES, CONSTRUCTION
 TRAILERS ETC.
  
 ALL DEMOLITION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS
 OF NFPA 241. TRASH AND DEBRIS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE
 SITE DAILY.
  
 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN ACTIVE DURING
 DEMOLITION AND RENOVATION ACTIVITIES. IN THE EVENT A
 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS OUT OF SERVICE FOR MORE THAN
 4-HOURS IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD, THE BUILDING SHALL BE
 PLACED UNDER A FIRE WATCH. ALL FIRE WATCH REQUESTS MUST
 BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING AND APPROVED BY THE OFFICE OF
 THE FIRE MARSHAL LOCATED AT 500 NORTH DIXIE HIGHWAY.
  
 PROVIDE AN EXTERIOR KEY SAFE TO ALLOW EMERGENCY
 RESPONDERS NON-FORCIBLE ENTRY INTO THE BUILDINGS DURING
 NON-BUSINESS HOURS. A KEY SAFE CAN BE ORDERED FROM
 WWW.KNOXBOX.COM.
  
 PROVIDE BUILDING NUMBER AND BUILDING ADDRESS VISIBLE
 FROM THE STREET. NUMBERS SHALL BE AT LEAST SIX-INCHES
 IN HEIGHT AND SHALL CONTRAST THE BACKGROUND (REFERENCE:
 SECTION 10.12.1.2 OF THE FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE -
 NFPA 1).
  
 PROVIDE A LIFE SAFETY PLAN CLEARLY INDICATING FIRE
 RATED WALLS, FIRE RATED DOORS, OCCUPANT LOADS, EXIT
 SIGNS, EMERGENCY LIGHTING, TRAVEL DISTANCES, COMMON
 PATH OF TRAVEL, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ETC.
  
 THE BUILDING IS FUNCTIONING AS A MULTIUSE OCCUPANCY.
 INDICATE IF THE BUILDING IS DESIGNED FOR MIXED USE
 (NON-SEPARATED) OR SEPARATED USE PER SECTION 6.1.14.2.1
 OF NFPA 101 FLORIDA EDITION 2006. THE ONLY FIRE RATED
 SEPARATION APPEARS TO BE THE 2-HOUR FIRE BARRIER
 SEPARATING THE INTERIOR SERVICE BAYS FROM THE ADJACENT
 INTERIOR SPACE.
  
 THE SERVICE AREAS APPEAR TO BE FUNCTIONING MORE LIKE AN
 INDUSTRIAL/FACTORY OCCUPANCY THAN A STORAGE OCCUPANCY.
  
 INDICATE IF THE SERVICE AREAS AND BODY SHOP AREAS WILL
 BE FUNCTIONING AS A MAJOR OR MINOR REPAIR GARAGE AS PER
 SECTION 3.3.165.21.1 OF NFPA 1.
  
 NO SMOKING OR OPEN FLAME SIGNS TO BE POSTED IN ALL
 SERVICE AREAS, BODY SHOPS AND PAINT BOOTH AREAS.
  
 PROVIDE PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. EXTINGUISHERS
 SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM RATING OF 2A:10BC AND SHALL BE
 TAGGED BY A LICENSED FIRE EXTINGUISHER COMPANY. TRAVEL
 DISTANCE TO EXTINGUISHERS SHALL NOT EXCEED 75 FEET.
  
 THE BUSINESS OFFICES (#2101, #2104 ETC.) ARE INDICATED
 AS BEING LOCATED ON THE MEZZANINE; HOWEVER, THIS SPACE
 DOES NOT MEET THE DEFINITION OF A MEZZANINE (SECTION
 8.6.9 NFPA 101) WHEREBY THE MEZZANINE SPACE IS OPEN TO
 THE FLOOR BELOW UNLESS THE OCCUPANT LOAD OF THE
 AGGREGATE AREA OF THE ENCLOSED SPACE DOES NOT EXCEED
 10.
  
 PROVIDE TACTILE SIGNAGE AT ALL REQUIRED EXIT DOORS WITH
 EXIT SIGNS.
  
 HANDRAILS ARE REQUIRED TO BE INSTALLED ON BOTH SIDES OF
 STAIRS.
  
 SPRAYING OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS (PAINT) SHALL CONFORM TO
 THE REQUIMENTS OF NFPA 33.
  
 STORAGE AND HANDLING OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS SHALL CONFORM
 TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 30.
  
 INDICATE THE QUANTITIES OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS TO BE
 HOUSED IN THE PAINT SHOP AND MIXING ROOM.
  
 PAINT SHOP #1304 TO BE PROVIDED WITH TWO EXITS WHEREBY
 ONE FIRE EVENT WILL NOT RESTRICT ACCESS TO BOTH EXITS.
  
 INDICATE THE AREAS THAT WILL BE PROTECTED BY A FIRE
 SUPPRESSION SYSTEM(S).
  
 SEPARATE PLANS AND PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR
 INSTALLATION OF FIRE SPRINKLERS, FIRE ALARMS, PAINT
 SPRAY BOOTHS AND ANY OTHER SPECIALTY TRADE.
