 3RD FLOOR. THIS FIRE SHUTTER LEADS TO AN AREA THAT CAN
 BE CONSTRUED AS A MECHANICAL ROOM SINCE THIS WILL BE
 THE DOORWAY TO WORK ON THE EXISTING MECHANICAL
 EQUIPMENT BETWEEN THE EXISTING ROOFTOP AND THE NEW
 THIRD FLOOR ROOF TOP ADDITION.
  
 THE PERMIT SET OF PLANS LS-1 OR A2.0 DATED REVISION# 3
 5/11/09 DID NOT HAVE SUCH A DOORWAY IN THE VERTICAL
 EXIT STAIRWELL. PLEASE REVIEW:
  
 2004 FBC-B 1020.5 PENETRATIONS ALLOWED IN THE STAIRWELL
 ARE LIMITED OR PROHIBITED EXCEPT FOR THE REQUIRED
 EXITDOORS, EQUIPMENT AND DUCTWORK NECESSARY FOR
 INDEPENDENT PRESSURIZATION, SPRINKLER PIPING,
 STANDPIPES, ELECTRIC RACEWAYS, FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
 COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRICAL RACEWAY SEERVING NOT MORE
 THE EXIT PASSAGEWAY AND TERMINATING AT A STEEL BOX NOT
 EXCEEDING 16 SQUARE INCHES. SUCH PENETRATIONS SHALL BE
 PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 712.
  
 THERE HAS BEEN MEETINGS ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR
 SITUATION, AND THE AGREEMENT WAS TO HAVE A VESTIBULE
 WITH TWO SETS OF 1 1/2 HR DOORS. THE INTENT WAS TO NOT
 HAVE A MECHANICAL ROOM OPEN DIRECTLY INTO THE STAIRWELL
 TRYING TO MEET THE INTENT OF 1020.5.
