 THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE LETTER WHICH CLARIFIES HOW
 YOU OBTAINED THIS NUMBER. HOWEVER, PLEASE SEE RAS117
 SECTION 10.4.2. THIS CALCULATION REQUIRES FOR A SQUARE
 TO BE USED IN THE CALCULATIONS TO DETERMINE SQUARE FOOT
 / FASTENER (AND THEN FASTENER VALUE BASED ON SF PER
 FASTENER). USING 9.75 SQUARE FEET RATHER THAN 100
 SQUARE FEET APPEARS TO RESULT IN AN "INCORRECT" (BASED
 ON RAS 117 REQUIREMENTS) AREA PER FASTENER, RESULTING
 IN A HIGHER FASTENER VALUE.
  
 4. SEE RAS117, SPACING IS TO BE ROUNDED DOWN TO THE
 NEAREST INCH.
  
 2ND REVIEW, ZONE 2 OK AS FASTENING WAS ROUNDED DOWN
 (RAS 117 REQUIREMENT 8.23, ARCHITECT CALCULATED 8.9 BUT
 SPECIFIED 8").
  
 ZONE 3, ARCHITECT CALCULATED 5.92 TO BE ROUNDED UP TO
 6", BUT RAS 117 REQUIREMENT FOR TWO FIELD ROWS IS 5.46
 TO BE ROUNDED DOWN TO 5", DOES NOT COMPLY WITH DESIGN
 PRESSURE REQUIREMENT.
  
 PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS NOT NECESSARY (AND IS CONFUSING)
 TO SPECIFY ROW SPACING. PLEASE SEE NOAS; TO MY
 KNOWLEDGE, NONE SPECIFY ROW SPACING AS THEY SHOULD BE
 EVENLY SPACED. FOR INSTANCE, SEE SPECIFICATION FOR ZONE
 2 (3 ROWS 12" APART SPECIFIED). AS THE BASE SHEET IS
 39.37" WITH A 4" LAP, THE THREE ROWS SHOULD BE
 INSTALLED AT 11.79" APART, WHICH IS A PART OF THE
 RAS117 CALCULATION TO DETERMINE FASTENER SPACING
 (RAS117 10.4.5). THIS INFORMATION IS NOT NECESSARY (AS
 IT IS NOT SPECIFIED IN WRITTEN APPROVED ASSEMBLIES IN
 THE NOAS) BUT IF INCLUDED SHOULD BE CORRECT IN ORDER TO
 AVOID CONFUSION OR FAILED INSPECTIONS IN THE FIELD .
