 FBC 2007 CODE FAMILY W/ 2009 SUPPLEMENTS
 FBC CH.1 AS AMENDED BY THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
  
 1. PLAN SHOWS SUPPLY DUCT PENETRATING FIRE-RESISTANCE
 RATED WALL. SHOW THE SUPPLY DUCT PROTECTED WITH FIRE
 DAMPER IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 607.5 AND FBC-M 607.8.
  
 2. PLAN SHOWS 16X14 AND 9X9 EXHHAUST DUCTS PENETRATING
 FIRE-RESISTANCE RATED WALLS. A GREASE DUCT SERVING A
 TYPE I HOOD THAT PENETRATES A FIRE RATED WALL SHALL BE
 ENCLOSED FROM THE POINT OF PENETRATION TO THE OUTLET
 TERMINAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 506.3.10.
  
 3. PLAN SHOWS TWO HOODS WITH INTERCONNECTING DUCTS. A
 SEPARATE GREASE DUCT SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH
 TYPE I HOOD. INTERCONNECTING DUCTS ARE PROHIBITED
 BECAUSE THE INTERCONNECTING DUCTS ARE PENETRATING A
 FIRE RESISTANCE RATED ASSEMBLY PER ITEM #3 OF THIS
 SECTION.
  
 4. SUPPLY FAN INTAKE LOUVER IS DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO AN
 ALLEY. MECHANICAL OUTDOOR AIR INTAKE OPENINGS SHALL BE
 LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 10 FEET HORIZONTALLY FROM ANY
 HAZARDOUS OR NOXIOUS CONTAMINANT SOURCE, SUCH AS
 STREETS, ALLEYS AND PARKING LOTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 FBC-M 401.4.1 AND FBC-M 508.1.
  
 5. PROVIDE MANUFACTURER'S DATA SHOWING EF-1 IS DESIGNED
 FOR WIND RESISTANCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 301.12. IF
 MANUFACTURER'S DATA INCLUDES WIND RESISTANT
 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, ADJUST INSTALLATION DETAILS
 ON PLANS TO CORRESPOND WITH THOSE OF THE MANUFACTURER
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 304.1.
  
 6. OUTDOOR EXHAUST DUCT SHALL BE SECURED TO BUILDING
 STRUCTURE FOR WIND RESISTANCE PER FBC-M 301.12. NO
 INFORMATION IS PROVIDED REGARDING CONSTRUCTION OF THE
 ANGLE SUPPORTS OR HOW THE DUCT IS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE
 SUPPORTS. GREASE DUCT BRACING AND SUPPORTS SHALL BE OF
 NONCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE
 STRUCTURE AND DESIGNED TO CARRY GRAVITY AND WIND LOADS
 WITHIN THE STRESS LIMITATIONS OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, BUILDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 506.3.3. BOLTS,
 SCREWS, RIVETS AND OTHER MECHANICAL FASTENERS SHALL NOT
 PENETRATE DUCT WALLS. PROVIDE ALL MISSING INFORMATION
 AS REQUIRED PER THESE SECTIONS.
  
 7. SHOW CLEANOUTS IN THE HORIZONTAL DUCT SPACED NOT
 MORE THAN 20 FEET APART IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M
 506.3.9.
  
 8. THE PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK REQUIRES ACCESS TO
 CLEANOUTS AND THE SUPPLY FAN IN THE ADJACENT TENANT
 SPACE. PROVIDE A LETTER FROM THE BUILDING OWNER
 ACKNOWLEDGING THIS CONDITION, AGREEING TO AND ENSURING
 THAT THE FUTURE USAGE OF THE ADJACENT SPACE WILL IN NO
 WAY RESTRICT THE REQUIRED ACCESS TO THESE COMPONENTS OF
 THE KITCHEN EXHAUST SYSTEM. SUFFICIENT ACCESS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED AND MAINTAINED FOR SERVICE AND REPLACEMENT OF
 THE SUPPLY FAN WITHOUT THE REMOVAL OF ANY PERMANENT
 ELEMENTS OF CONSTRUCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M
 306.1. SUFFICIENT ACCESS SHALL BE PROVIDED AND
 MAINTAINED FOR THE INSPECTION, CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
 OF THE GREASE EXHAUST DUCT SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 NFPA 96-02 SECTION 11.3.
  
 9. PLANS SHOW A HEAT SENSOR INSTALLED AT THE EXHAUST
 INLET OF THE 14X16 DUCT AT THE LARGER HOOD TO
 FACILITATE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.
 HOWEVER, NO SUCH DEVICE IS SHOWN AT THE INLET OF THE
 9X9 DUCT AT THE SMALLER HOOD. BOTH TYPE I HOOD SYSTEMS
 SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED TO AUTOMATICALLY
 ACTIVATE THE EXHAUST FAN WHENEVER COOKING OPERATIONS
 OCCUR IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 507.2.1.1.
  
 10. SUPPLY FAN AND EXHUST FAN ARE BOTH MARKED AS EF-1.
 LABEL FANS CORRECTLY ON PLANS IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M
 304.11.
  
 11. PLAN VIEW SHOWS SUPPLY DUCT AS 18 INCH ROUND WHILE
 SECTION VIEW SHOWS 18X18. WHICH IS CORRECT? COORDINATE
 DUCT SIZES ON PLAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 603.1 AND
 FBC-B 106.1.1.
  
 12. PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVAL FOR PROPOSED LOUVER IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH FBC-M 106.3.3 AND FAC RULE 9B-72.
  
 13. THE STATED VALUE ON THE PERMIT APPLICATION IS LOW.
 THE CONTRACT WHICH WAS INCLUDED IN THE SUBMITTAL SHOWS
 A VALUE OF $32,000. THE VALUE AS STATED ON THE PERMIT
 APPLICATION HAS BEEN ADJUSTED TO REFLECT THE VALUE
 STATED ON THE CONTRACT. PAY OUTSTANDING FEE BALANCE OF
 $484.80 ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ADJUSTED VALUATION AT TIME
 OF RESUBMISSION. FBC-B 108.3.
  
 14. THE ADDRESS ON THE PERMIT APPLICATION IS STATED AS
 "401 NORTHWOOD RD" WHILE THE ADDRESS ON THE PLANS IS
 STATED AS "403 NORTHWOOD RD." PLEASE CORRECT THE
 ADDRESS ON THE PLANS TO CORRESPOND WITH THE ADDRESS ON
 THE PERMIT ALLPICATION.
