 THE AUGER PILE REPORT FROM ARDAMAN INDICATES A YIELD OF

 3) ARDAMANS SOILS REPORT# 08-2035 INDICATES THE USE OF
 14 INCH DIAMETER AUGERCAST PILE INSTALLED TO DEPTHS OF
 APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET. SECTION 1810.3.2 THE PILE LENGTH
 SHALL NOT EXCEED 30 TIMES THE AVERAGE DIAMETER. THE
 MINIMUM DIAMETER SHALL BE 12 INCHES (305 MM).
 EXCEPTION: THE LENGTH OF THE PILE IS PERMITTED TO
 EXCEED 30 TIMES THE DIAMETER, PROVIDED THAT THE DESIGN
 AND INSTALLATION OF THE PILE FOUNDATION ARE UNDER THE
 DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
 KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THE FIELD OF SOIL MECHANICS AND PILE
 FOUNDATIONS. THE REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SHALL
 CERTIFY TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL THAT THE PILES WERE
 INSTALLED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE APPROVED CONSTRUCTION
 DOCUMENTS.
  
 30 TIMES THE PILE DIAMETER OF 14 INCHES EQUALLS 420
 INCHES. THE PILE LENGTH OF 40 FEET EXPRESED IN ICHES IS
 480 INCHES WHICH EXCEEDS THE ALLOWABLE 420INCHES. THE
 EXCEPTION DOES ALLOW FOR THE PILE TO BE DEEPER UNDER
 THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A REGISTERED DESIGN
 PROFESSIONAL. SHEET S-3 AUGERCAST PILE NOTE (G) THE
 CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF A REGISTERED
 PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER TO SUPERVISE AND CERTIFY THAT THE
 PILE INSTALLATION WORK COMPLIES WITH THE DESIGN
 REQUIREMENTS. WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANY DOCUMENTS FROM THE
 CONTRACTOR INDICATING COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SECTION.
 ALSO NOTE THREE SETS OF ALL DOCUMENTS WILL NEED TO BE
 SUBMITTED, ONE FOR THE SOILS ENGINEER.
  
 4) SHEET S-3 CAST IN PLACE CONCRETE PILE NOTE "B"
 INDICATES THE AUGER PILE TO INSTALL 5,000 PSI CONCRETE
 WHILE THE SOILS REPORT FROM ARDAMAN INDICATES THE USE
 OF 4,500 PSI CONCRETE GROUT. PLEASE CORRELATE PLANS AND
 SOILS REPORT.
  
 5) DEALS WITH THE RECOMMANDATION OF THE SOILS ENGINEER
 THAT THE PILE SPACING OF MINIMUM SPACING OF 3.5 FEET ON
 CENTER. THE STRUCTURAL SHEET S-1 THE AUGER PILE ARE
 SPACED MORE THAN 3.5 FEET APART.
 DISCREPANCY IN PLANS, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED,
 106.1.2.
  
 6) ALSO DEALS WITH THE WORDING OR INTERPRETATION OF
 PILES SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED WITHIN 5 FEET OF ANY
 PILE. THE NOTE DOES NOT INDICATE IF THESE ARE CENTER TO
 CENTER OR FROM EDGE TO EDGE. SECTION 1810.3.3
 INDICATES THAT AUGER CAST PILES SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED
 WITHIN SIX PILE DIAMETER CENTER TO CENTER OF PILE
 FILLED WITH CONCRETE LESS THAN 12 HOURS OLD. PLEASE
 CLARIFY THE LANGUAGE USED.
