 FBC 2004 CODE FAMILY W/ 2007 SUPPLEMENTS
 FBC CH.1 AS AMENDED BY THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
  
 1. PG M2.1 AND P2.1 SHOW NEW CONDENSER WATER AND
 CONDENSATE LINES PENETRATING FIRE RESISTANCE RATED WALL
 ASSEMBLIES. THESE PENETRATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 PROTECTED BY A THROUGH-PENETRATION FIRESTOP SYSTEM IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH FBC 712.3.1.2. THE ONLY
 THROUGH-PENETRATION FIRESTOP SYSTEM SHOWN ON PLANS WAS
 FOUND ON PG FS0.1 AND THIS SYSTEM IS NOT APPLICABLE
 BECAUSE IT IS ONLY FOR STEEL PIPE OR EMT PENETRATING
 CONCRETE WALLS AND FLOORS. CONDENSATE IS TO BE TYPE L
 COPPER AS STATED IN MECHANICAL NOTE #17. CONDENSER
 WATER MAY BE TYPE L COPPER AS STATED IN MECHANICAL NOTE
 #27. PROVIDE DETAIL FOR A THROUGH-PENETRATION FIRESTOP
 SYSTEM TO BE USED TO PROTECT THESE
 THROUGH-PENETRATIONS, ENSURING THE SYSTEM IS
 APPROPRIATE FOR THE TYPE OF MATERIAL PENETRATING THE
 WALLS AS WELL AS THE TYPE OF WALL ASSEMBLY BEING
 PENETRATED.
  
 2. PG M2.1: A COMBINATION FIRE/SMOKE DAMPER IS SHOWN IN
 THE 34X12 SUPPLY DUCT PENETRATING THE TENANT SEPARATION
 WALL (AT APPROXIMATELY COLUMN LINE K.1). THERE ARE ALSO
 6 OTHER R/A FIRE/SMOKE DAMPERS SHOWN IN THE TENANT
 SEPARATION WALLS. NONE OF THESE ARE PART OF THE
 CONTROLS OR SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS FOR THE BASE
 BUILDING SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM. THEY ARE ALSO NOT SHOWN
 AS PART OF THE FIRE ALARM PLANS (SEE FA0.1 THROUGH
 FA5.1). BY WHAT MEANS ARE THESE DAMPERS TO BE ACTUATED?
 SHOW THE SMOKE DAMPER ACTUATION METHOD TO BE IN
 COMPLIANCE WITH FBC, M 607.3.2.1.
 NOTE: THESE DAMPERS ARE NOT LOCATED IN A SHAFT, RATED
 CORRIDOR OR A SMOKE BARRIER.
  
 3. PG A-7.7.3: EXTERIOR WALLS ABOVE CEILING WHICH ARE
 EXPOSED TO THE RETURN AIR PLENUM SHALL BE LINED WITH AN
 AIR BARRIER AND SEALED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FMC, M 603.9
 AND SHALL BE INSULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TABLE
 13-410.1.ABC.2.2 OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE, BUILDING. SEE FBC, M 603.8. EXTERIOR WALLS
 EXPOSED TO THE PLENUM SHALL BE INSULATED TO A MINIMUM
 OF R-8, RATHER THAN THE R-4.2 AS SHOWN ON DETAILS 1 AND
 2 OF THIS PAGE.
  
 4. AS THIS IS AN UNFINISHED SHELL BUILDING, THESE PLANS
 ARE TO BE REVIEWED AND SIGNED BY THE BASE BUILDING
 DESIGNER OF RECORD FOR CONFORMANCE WITH THE BASE
 BUILDING DESIGN. THE MECHANICAL PLANS HAVE BEEN
 INITIALED BY "TWJ" RATHER THAN DANIEL A. CAMPIA. PLEASE
 CORRECT AND RESUBMIT. ALSO, PLEASE SEE PLUMBING
 COMMENTS REGARDING THE REQUIRED LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
 TO BE SIGNED BY THE BASE BUILDING CONTRACTOR, BASE
 BUILDING DEVELOPER AND THE TENANT CONTRACTOR TO BE
 SUBMITTED WITH PERMIT APPLICATION.
 NOTE: THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE BASED ON A POLICY
 ESTABLISHED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF
 CREATING A SYSTEM BY WHICH TENANT IMPROVEMENT PERMITS
 MAY BE ISSUED PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF THE SHELL/BASE
 BUILDING.
