 FBC CH.1 AS AMENDED BY THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
  
 THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS ARE NUMBERED TO CORRESPOND WITH
 PREVIOUS REVIEW COMMENTS AS WELL AS DESIGNER'S WRITTEN
 RESPONSES FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUITY.
  
 1. H2.6.1: ROOM 601, 606, 607, 610, 620, 638
 ARCHITECTURAL FLOOR PLAN SHOWS WALLS FOR THESE ROOMS
 FROM FLOOR TO DECK. THERE ARE NO PROVISIONS FOR RETURN
 AIR FROM THESE ROOMS. BALANCED RETURN AIR IS REQUIRED
 PER FBC, M 601.4. SHOW HOW BALANCED RETURN IS TO BE
 ACHIEVED IN THIS AREA.
  
 2. H2.6.1: ROOM 620 HAS AN R/A TRANSFER SHOWN FROM ROOM
 621. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO MEANS SHOWN FRO RETURN AIR
 FROM ROOM 620 BACK TO CENTRALIZED RETURN. ALSO,
 CENTRALIZED RETURN INTAKE IS LOCATED ABOVE CLERICAL
 ROOM 619. THIS INTAKE IS SEPARATED FROM THE EAST SIDE
 OF THE SPACE BY TWO CONTINUOUS P25 WALLS, ONE ON EACH
 SIDE OF RECEPTION 620 AND CONFERENCE 621. PLEASE SHOW
 HOW BALANCED RETURN IN THESE AREAS IS TO BE ACHIEVED.
  
 3. H7.6.1: VENTILATION AIR CALCULATIONS STATE THAT
 THERE IS AN EXPECTED OCCUPANCY OF 35 AND THIS NUMBER IS
 USED PER THE PROVISIONS OF FBC, M 403.3.1. THIS SECTION
 ALLOWS FOR VENTILATION TO BE BASED ON ACTUAL OCCUPANTS,
 NOT EXPECTED OCCUPANTS. THIS WOULD REQUIRE SOME MEANS
 OF COUNTING THE NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS IN THE SPACE AT ANY
 GIVEN TIME AND VARYING THE VENTILATION RATE BASED ON
 THAT NUMBER. ABSENT THAT TYPE OF SYSTEM OR APPROVED
 STATISTICAL DATA SHOWING AN OCCUPANT LOAD DIFFERENT
 THAN THAT IN TABLE 403.3, AS ALLOWED BY THE EXCEPTION
 TO THAT SECTION, THE VENTILATION RATE SHALL BE
 DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TABLE 403.3.
  
 -BASED ON THE SQUARE FOOTAGE SHOWN ON THE LIFE SAFETY
 PLAN THERE IS APPROX. 6800S.F. OF OFFICE SPACE,
 EXCLUDING CONFERENCE ROOMS, CORRIDORS, CLOSETS, ETC.
 THE OCCUPANT LOAD AT 7/1000 IS 48. THE RATE FOR OFFICE
 SPACE IS 20 CFM PER PERSON FOR A TOTAL OF 960CFM.
  
 - BASED ON THE SQUARE FOOTAGE SHOWN ON THE LIFE SAFETY
 PLAN THERE IS APPROX. 1179S.F. IN CONFERENCE ROOMS 621,
 639 AND RNET ROOM 623. THE OCCUPANT LOAD AT 50/1000 IS
 59. THE RATE FOR CONFERENCE ROOMS IS 20 CFM PER PERSON
 FOR A TOTAL OF 1180 CFM.
  
 - BASED ON THE SQUARE FOOTAGE SHOWN ON THE LIFE SAFETY
 PLAN THERE IS APPROX. 685S.F. IN THE RECEPTION AREA
 ROOM 620. THE OCCUPANT LOAD AT 60/1000 IS 41. THE RATE
 FOR THE RECEPTION AREA IS 15 CFM PER PERSON FOR A TOTAL
 OF 615 CFM.
  
 BASED ON THESE CALCULATIONS, THE OUTSIDE AIR
 REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS SPACE EXCEEDS THE TOTAL SUPPLIED
 BY BASE BUILDING SYSTEMS FOR THIS FLOOR. THE AMOUNT OF
 OUTSIDE AIR FOR THIS SPACE CANNOT EXCEED THE PERCENTAGE
 OF THE FLOOR SPACE USED BY THIS TENANT BUILD-OUT IN
 ORDER TO ALLOW FOR ENOUGH FRESH AIR TO REMAIN FOR THE
 REST OF THE FLOOR WHEN OCCUPIED. THE BASE BUILDING
 VENTILATION SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED UNDER ASHRAE 62.1-2004
 AS ALLOWED BY FBC, M 403.4. DESIGNER SHOULD DETERMINE
 IF THAT METHOD OF DESIGN WOULD BRING THE VENTILATION
 REQUIREMENTS TO WITHIN THE QUANTITIES PROVIDED BY BASE
 BUILDING SYSTEMS OR IF ADDITIONAL OUTSIDE AIR IS
 REQUIRED BASED ON THE QUANTITIES REQUIRED BY TABLE
 403.3.
  
 4. CEILING RETURN PLENUM CAVITIES DESIGNED FOR AIR
 TRANSPORT SHALL BE LINED WITH AN AIR BARRIER AND SEALED
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 603.9 AND SHALL BE INSULATED
 IN ACCORDANCE WITH TABLE 13-410.1.ABC.2.2. APPROVED AIR
 BARRIERS SHALL BE AS DEFINED IN FBC, M 603.9.1 AND THE
 R-VALUE OF INSULATION SHALL BE MIN. R-8 IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH THE ABOVE TABLE. SHOW THESE COMPONENTS AS A
 MINIMUM AS PART OF DETAIL 1 ON PG A7.6.3
  
 5. AS THIS TENANT BUILD OUT IS TO TAKE PLACE IN A
 BUILDING WHICH HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED, AS A CONDITION
 OF PERMIT, THE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES DEPARTMENT IS
 REQUIRING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE BASE
 BUILDING CONTRACTOR, THE TENANT CONTRACTOR, AND THE
 BASE BUILDING DEVELOPER. THIS LETTER SHALL STATE THAT
 ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR
 THEIR WORK AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE WORK OF ONE
 CONTRACTOR HAS THE POTENTIAL TO IMPACT THE OTHER?S
 ABILITY TO OBTAIN FINAL INSPECTIONS. CODE DEFICIENCIES
 WILL NOT BE OVERLOOKED REGARDLESS OF WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
 FOR THE RELATED WORK.
